we enjoyed the virw of the white river as we sat out on the patio. staff was friendly and courteous. good took a while but it was pretty good. the only downside to our visit at anglers was when our waitress Melissa pulled an ink pen from her apron a tiny ziplock bag fell in the floor. First the good. It is a really nice setting overlooking the river. My server and the service was great. I was told that they have the best steak around. It had been awhile since I'd had a steak so I thought I'd treat myself and I ordered the Ribeye. We stayed in one of the loft rooms over the restaurant. Room has cobwebs everywhere, floor coming up in multiple areas as well as soft spots in floors we avoided stepping on. If all this wasn't enough, came back to room after being gone most of day and our door was left open. Right on the water, great view. Indoor and outdoor seating. Did not care for the interior decor. Very country with wood floor to ceiling and dead animals on the walls. Not very appetizing. We stopped here for lunch because it was the only restaurant we saw lol. They had a soup and salad, all you can eat bar, for $8. Great price. There's a reason it's only $8. They offered 1 soup and beans. I hate beans so I did not try those but the potato soup was actually pretty good. The salad bar was your basic salad toppings. They also had potato salad which was not good, just tasted like potatoes covered in a mix of mustard and mayonnaise with no seasonings. And they had pasta salad which was ok. But for $8 the potato soup and salad was decent. We also had an order of the boneless buffalo wings off the menu which were actually delicious!! 3 stars because it was average food, some hits and some misses. Good price. Great view. It get's four stars but barely. Not a bad place at all. In fact it was one of the best interiors in a restaurant I'd seen in the town of Mtn. View. The service was a little slow, the food was pretty good. I had two small pork chops covered in brown gravy? Fries and a drink. My wife had the fish tacos and we had a pretty good time there. Not too eventful but OK. It does have the status of being the only place in the county that serves alcohol. Nicely decorated on the inside. Thick natural wood on the whole interior. It's a safe bet to eat at and the river view is also very nice. When you roll up to the place, it really looks like a gas station so much that it almost throws you off. Top notch, order a steak, it was cooked to perfection, not a thick cut steak, which makes it even harder to perfect. Salad was good, service was great! Absolutely no complaints and prices were reasonable to boot. They could realistically charge 15 percent more and I wouldn't complain. read more

Don't let the gas station appearance fool you, Anglers is a top notch restaurant. I Eat at Anglers once to twice a year and it never disappoints. Everything on the menu is surprisingly good, but the Pork Tenderloin may be my favorite dish anywhere. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but on my last visit on July 23 we were seated quickly and served promptly, despite it being a busy Friday night. In any case everyone is always friendly and you can't beat the views of the White River. read more

Views from the windows and outdoor deck of the White River together with local cuisine -- ribs, catfish, trout and veggie burgers(!!!), make this a good stop after exploring nearby Blanchard Springs Cave. I had a half order of ribs -- very tasty. Service was good and menu catered also to our kids preferences. They will supposedly have a license for beer and wine next month. read more
