My son & friend were visiting from Dallas. They asked about buying some cool vintage clothing. I knew thrift stores were a good option, but extremely random. The two highest rated shops are just a few minutes apart. Avengers & Broadway... Avengers clothing was very well organized, clean, high value, & worthy of a visit. If you are my age it's a trip down memory lane. For the younger generation, a look into the past. They even have lots of accessories for the clothing...jewelry, hats, shoes, ties, etc. Go ahead visit those thrift stores, but when you get tired of spending hours shifting through clothing get to Avengers. Even if you are just cruising down Central stop in for a visit, for that future event. You will not be disappointed!

Do a Google or Yahoo search, there are slim pickings in Albuquerque for quality places to go to…read morefind new or vintage costumes. These are the type of items that you will never find in a Halloween store. Some things are like walking into your great grandparents closet, that is they were really cool people. Virtually stepping back into time. Give yourself time to really explore this place. They didn't have what I wanted, but the young lady was able to point me into the right direction on what would work for me. Don't go in here expecting everything to be orderly, but that is the charm. They know where everything is so not chaos really, but you may need help finding that certain item. if you want to really impress someone with a costume this is the place to find it. Now if you want WalMart or Spirit Halloween cheap stuff don't expect it here. There are things here at low prices, but the vintage items cost more. They have gone out to find these hard to find items. So unless you plan to spend days searching thrift stores or antique shops just pull out the money & support this great place. You will not find a more unique costume place in Albuquerque.

The sales person, (Robert Dominguez) let us know about a great sale they were having at the time. I was a little skeptical at first but Robert and all of the staff made the process a very easy experience. The staff were all very professional & friendly. When they submitted the alteration ticket they put it for pickup on Thursday! So the next day (Wed afternoon) I received a text and email from S.U. that said my order was ready to be picked up???!!!! I would not recommend especially for renting a suit. The salesman assisting my husband and me was…read moreincredibly rude and came across as very pretentious. Since we had never rented a suit before, we had a lot of questions about the fit and what adjustments could be made. Every time I asked, he dismissively responded with, "It's a rental," without offering any real explanation or help. We went in already aware that my husband's build (muscular with a smaller waist) might make renting difficult, and we were open to purchasing a suit for a better fit. However, due to how uncomfortable and unwelcome the experience felt, we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We also felt like we were treated as less important simply because we were renting instead of buying. Instead of feeling confident in our choice, we ended up settling for a rental that doesn't fit well at all. Overall, we're extremely disappointed with the experience. If it weren't for the strict dress code for the groomsmen, we absolutely would have taken our business elsewhere.

The in-house alterations on my wedding dress were poorly done, including an uneven illusion neckline, white thread on nude mesh, and jagged stitching. When I raised my concerns and requested a partial refund because I no longer trusted the alterations, I expected professionalism. Instead, the OWNER told me I was a "HORRIBLE person" for letting her know I'd post a review and pictures of their quality of work. She also stated that she "didn't earn a dime" from me because I purchased my dress on sale, so she didn't care if I was an upset customer. Whether a dress is purchased on sale or at full price should never determine how a customer is treated. The poor workmanship was disappointing, but the owner's response and customer service were far worse. I ultimately had to pay someone else to repair the dress before my wedding. I expect businesses to stand behind their work and treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, that was FAR from my experience at Ann Matthews Bridal.
