Me thinks not to say the least!! OK, we all know Santa Fe is FILLED with every type of person or character imaginable. However, sometimes these "characters" will take on the roll of being stuck up and snooty. Again, that's understandable to a localite, because you are used to it. But a store is still a store and should (by default) be attempting to offer good service and have a positive seller attitude and, in my opinion, go the extra mile or AT LEAST a mile to try to provide you with what you may or may not need. One of the owners, the "large" individual who radiates the queeny-stuck up-santa fe vibe was nothing less than a shockingly poor businessman and terrible salesman to say the least!
My girlfriend and I entered the store a few days back hoping to just look for costumes, have a fun time, and try on some wigs because her hair has been falling out (its a costume shop for chissakes) and she is trying to find the color she likes so that she can keep her hair. A few moments after entering the store both of the clerks gave us a glance and quickly denied us service until i literally had to get 2 feet from where this gentleman was standing and ask sternly, "do you have wigs?" His almost bratty reply? "Well yes, we are a costume store." As if i should have known such an obscure fact like costume shops carry wigs naturally.
He proceeded to point to the wigs and immediately broke eye contact with me and refused to acknowledge our presence for the continuation of our time in the store. My girlfriend and i both felt so awkward and belittled that a quick trip to try on wigs became nothing but a feeling of guilt.
We stayed in the store to look at colors of hair but after the older lady clerk had hovered around us in complete silence and scowled while she walked by us a few times, we decided that this local small town costume store would not only have the intent of ruining the day of a couple just trying to have a good day and do a bit of exploring, but also to be sour, stuck up, cheap, ill-mannered and bratty salesmen who not only needs a lesson in stewardship but also in friendly human etiquette.
I would urge any normal, average, patron who isn't intent on kissing the feet of an ill mannered and out right rude sales team in order to get an ounce of attention to avoid this shop like the plague of negativity and acrimoniousness that it is. read more
