Thankfully another woman called her to take care of me. But I'm rating my review on how well my hair was done not their customer service. So my hairdresser of 30 years decided to retire during the pandemic and I let my hair grow to a ridiculous length out of fear of going to a new one. Fortunately I have a friend and I love her hair so I asked where she went and the name of hairdresser. The salon is Luna and the stylist is Nakia. Great made an appointment came in and Nakia did her thing. She cut layers ( I never had before) & blowdried my hair and it looked great. The test was still to come - me doing my hair! Happy to say I can blow dry my hair with my head upside down. No styling no curling just blowing heat and when dry I flip it back in place and I L-O-V-E IT!!! So easy and it looks like it has all this body when in actuality it's plain ole poker straight. So yes *****s because Nakia gave me a great haircut and that was my purpose for going to Luna.

From the moment I sat down, she was pleasant and listened carefully to what I wanted. She asked thoughtful questions to make sure she completely understood what I had in mind. Her eye for color and highlights is exceptional. She took the time to really look at my skin tone and natural hair color, and then chose the perfect blend of color and highlights to complement my complexion. You can tell she takes pride in her work and has a genuine artistic sense when it comes to selecting the right tones. She also surprised me and added a glaze conditioner during the rinse, which noticeably made my hair soft and silky for weeks afterward! Additionally, I was so impressed watching her work during the cut. She is painstakingly meticulous, checking to make sure that the shape was symmetrical and balanced from every direction. She even made adjustments after the hair was dry!! I'm so grateful to have found someone who combines technical skill with genuine care for her clients and is FUN! I booked a trial hair appointment with Marc and sat in his chair, armed with a few pinterest ideas that I had tagged earlier on. Marc listened to my ideas and created a fantastic up-do that was everything I wanted. He perfected the style during a second trial and I knew I had to have him and his assistant Courtney for my big day!! They arrived bang on time with a plethora of hair gadgets and started working on my four bridesmaids, mother and mother in law. It was a fun filled Gaga infused morning that helped shape for the way for an unforgettable day. Everyone loved Marc & Courtney and they created fantastic hairstyles that showcased the individual styles of all the women. My normal salon…read morefor the last 5 years is in West Haven, and looking for a new/closer to home salon where I could also easily go for a bang trim while saving on gas money would be ideal. Based on reviews, I actually wanted Marc to cut my hair but he wasn't taking new clients, instead he set me up with Christine. I have long fine (yet full) wavy hair to my middle/lower back. I am very specific how I like my bangs cut, and always show pictures. I was also careful to explain how I didn't like too much cut, I always keep my hair long with a few very long layers for movement. The trim was fine, but the bangs weren't really how I wanted them, so I went back 2 weeks later for an adjustment. They weren't perfect but better. Fast forward 2 weeks ago, I go for another trim (an inch) the long layers dusted so I would have more volume and a bang trim/shape, again with a picture or 2 (of the Instagram influencer whose bangs I love). They looked ok yet again not what I asked for when I left. I went back AGAIN to have them adjusted again showing the same pictures. When I washed my hair 2 days later I realized what a horrible CHOP JOB Christine did-the sides are now completely uneven, worst of all not only my bangs but the side of my head by my EARS!!-those pieces were long (middle of my neck at least) and blended in from bangs on down when I walked in. NOW I HAVE TUFTS OF HAIR THAT STICK OUT ON THE SIDES AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THIS FOR MONTHS UNTIL I GROW THEM OUT!!! Thanks Christine for the ridiculous side burns I now have wearing a baseball cap, or any hat Fall into Winter! Great look. A master stylist with "years of experience"?? I was really upset the last few days, now I'm livid. Thank heavens I hadn't make an appointment to have my color done like I enquired on my last hair appointment, I'd probably leave looking like a zebra. Its a shame, because while she is super nice, the salon is cozy & 10 minutes from my house, I am paying for a service, and its the service/cut that falls way short. I would never allow her to touch my hair again. PS the last photo is the one I have shown Christine FOUR TIMES of how I wanted my bangs to look!!
