I paid for the cremation and death certificates. 3 weeks later I called to find out what was going on. Put on hold and then told the ashes were there. Why had no one told the daughters they were there? Seems once the money is paid they don't care for the grieving family. What an awful experience. Would not recommend this facility if you want caring and empathetic people. A big thumbs down. All about the money.

I had to fly to WA to spend his last living days before taking him off of life support. So many thoughts ran through my head on what I needed to do & how to do it. My mom said "Dont worry I know who to call" she called Dave & his staff. From the beginning of the process to the end our family received the most respectable customer service. We were not treated as customers but as FAMILY! The entire decision process was heartfelt & warm. On the day of my husband service Sept.15.16 all I was thinking about is how this was going to be my last time seeing the love of my life, kissing him, holding him one last time as well as my kids. Everything happened so fast I did not get a chance to put my ring on his finger, because I wanted us to exchange our rings so that we would always have each other's ring for a lifetime. What Dave did for me I would always cherish for eternity. Our culture is very strict and the one thing I couldn't bare was to not have been able to give my husband my ring, and Dave did just that he put my ring on my husband finger. I cried with so much love & peace in my heart knowing that my husband will always have a part of our lives that made us one my wedding ring. Anchorage Funeral Home has gained our family's business forever we also have been letting everyone know to rest assure that Anchorage Funeral Home will make thier love ones home going an experience that they will never forget. So much love & prayers for their business, staff and family. GOD bless you all, Jessi Tui & Family

There are not a lot of options regarding mortuary services in Alaska. The market is…read morecornered/covered more or less by several long standing facilities/families. It is difficult while grieving to pay close attention to the processes available to you and your family and it is easy to miss expensive unplanned options while believing you're being gently cared for, by a business. As a person employed to help determine services covered for families in need for 7 years, I am acutely aware of business practices, laws, and state and/or federal benefits available. This as well as cost of combined services in general. After that preface to the following: I am pleased with the level of care my family received when my dad recently passed. They had their hands full with my family and took it in stride. It gives me a chuckle to think about. Though it may seem impersonal, their website is well done and is expected to be utilized. As an initial point of contact or portal. It is comprehensive and intuitive. The largest hurdle is probably getting next of kin that is a senior citizen, to use the web option. After directing my family member to the website no less than 6-7 times and specifically stating that they don't make the arrangements over the phone, they decided taking a phone call was fitting. This even before the face to face that was demanded (that they really don't typically do, up there with arrangements made over the phone) to discuss info that artfully and helpfully already flowed on their website. The website. With available services via easily accessed menus, again being intuitive and easily experienced, and with a running total, you can explore different options based on services and expense. No surprises. Honestly it should be a model for directing folks to services available without overwhelming them with information while grieving. Often we say and feel -spare no expense!- as it soothes us that it is correct and warranted Make sure your family has communicated their wishes with each other prior to passing. It really helps to have this info in place so you can focus on celebrating your lost loved one. They took great care of my dad who passed, and my mom who didn't know if she was coming or going amidst it all. Bless them lol. Communication and ongoing care was thorough and succinct. Thank you, endlessly.
