Angels Gate Park has some of the best views in San Pedro I encourage to bring your kids.

My dad told me the story that this park used to be a very rich man's Summer House. When he died he gave his lighthouse to the state making it to the park. Today we are here eating lunch looking at the ocean. In a far away distance I can hear somebody playing a saxophone and one of the carved out Knucks along the wall by the ocean. It's a beautiful memory I will carry in my heart forever . They have free concerts that fill up the park throughout the summer. Sounds like a good time.I plan on attending a concert next year for sure. I love the word free

Great place to visit, especially after being stuck at home after covid. It was very refreshing with nice cool ocean breeze and beautiful panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. There were plenty of free parking and grassy area to seat & enjoy the sun & ocean. Lots of photo zones. You can walk down the hill for bbq pit & picnic tables. They even have ice cream truck on the side of the road. Super cool !!! Had a wonderful time. Body & Soul ~two thumbs up ^^

Love a court with a view...

This park is by far one of my favorite parks and is now my son's favorite. We don't live close, but it's worth the drive. There's a little bit of history, a lot of space, and a basketball court, all with an amazing view. They do have a parking lot and restrooms as well. If there isn't any parking available in the lot, there's a lot of street parking too. There aren't any picnic tables, so bring a blanket to relax and enjoy. Last time I was there, the park closed at 7pm.

The park has spectacular and sweeping views of santa catalina island and the rugged coastline. A dependable and consistent wind makes this place typically ideal kite-flying conditions. A number of hiking trails meander about the park, neither very challenging nor very long.

At least once, when the late afternoon sky is clear (many days have a rolling in marine layer) you have to come here and watch the sunset on the Pacific. Great view. This area has a little bit of everything you'd expect from a park, besides the beautiful location; outdoor basketball court (no lights), children's playground, of course the Korean Friendship Bell, wide open grass areas, hiking trails and the Angels Gate Cultural Arts Center. If you come during the afternoon, bring a jacket because it can get chilly, even in the Summer months. It's that pesky afternoon breeze. You can also reserve a picnic area for one of the following parks from the main office here: Point Fermin Park, Joan Milke Flores Park and the Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park. Oh, and if you haven't been working out or stayed in shape, I dare you to climb the hill from the parking down below up to the Bell. And don't ask what I'm gonna give you if you do it.

Wow, what a beautiful park !! I've been wanting to take my niece here to fly a kite. Just lay back out on the grass and enjoy the ocean view and cool breeze. Parking is easy and the view from all around is absolutely beautiful. A must visit for anyone and everyone!

    Me on grass!

Wow. This is a pretty amazing place. And there were barely any people there... very rare in LA. Such a unique and great spot.

Beautiful sunset!! Added bonus-check out the rainbow!!

Hands down one of the best parks Ive been to. Tons to do-play basbetketball, lots of field space for soccer, football, flying a kite, etc. Many kids were driving electric scooters around the concrete path. There is also a jungle gym. There are two wow factors at this park- 1-Korean Temple is beautiful! Walk around. Appreciate the ornate design, the beautiful colorful paintings at the top interior. 2-The PV Coastline, water view is absolutely stunning!

Best views in the South Bay, even a better spot to take the dogs for a cliff side/beach walk. Parks well taken care of and maintained. Lush green grass and beautiful eucalyptus trees. Watch for the hawks and owls they snatch up the squirrels right in front ( NO BS)

Then we would continue to AP to eat lunch and feed the ducks which the kids loved to do. Averill is a nice, peaceful spot to escape the rat race for a short while and recharge before continuing with the stress and demands of daily life. Many students, unfortunately, live in foster homes that rarely take the children out into the community to learn how to function in the REAL world. Too many are placed in front of the TV when they are not at school, just being fed and receiving the bare minimum of personal care so CBI is important for them to be able to function in the community after they become adults and age out from qualifying for foster care anymore. The benches by the lake or the gazebo located in the upper part towards the northeast part of AP are especially restful areas to regain your sense of sanity and to recharge. If you happen to be in Pedro, bring a snack and beverage so you can spend time with the ducks and enjoy some downtime in a peaceful place.

Started off someplace else and just continued on to see and stop off at all the locations nearby. There's a good amount of parking along the street as well as some along the neighborhood. The park itself is overly big but it does have a good size to it. The nice massive trees lined the area. There's a nice little path along the sides where it looks out to the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs below. It was low tide so seeing the tide pools was quite beautiful. Along the path are little covered area which are label by number. Like mini covered patio with a table and seat. They too all looks out to the water. I believe there was a total of 8 seating enclosures along the path. Also, loads of squirrels roaming the place like it's nothing. They are not scared of you so be warn. Clearly there were signs not to feed the wildlife but there was people out with bags of peanuts feeding them. In the middle of the park is a little stage area and with benches. I'm sure they have theatre in the park happening if that's set up. And a playground around the side of it. There's also a lighthouse which is a focal point of the park. Situated right in the middle which now double as a museum. It's a cute park that I never knew about. Decent size for picnics or a nice wander around. The view alone along the path was spectacular. The cliff edge is dangerous so practice caution. Common sense, but they also had signs posted about suicides. It's a cute neighborhood park as along the front are homes right across the street.

There is a scenic path along the edge of the park that is a relaxing walk, fresh air and breeze. The fruit sellers have a good variety of fruits, even cactus fruit. The pergolas with tables are prime spots, if you see a table open swoop in and grab it right away or it will get swooped up! In my short visit, I saw families, romantic couple and a guy jamming out on a guitar and a motorcycle club taking a rest break.

If you walk down the grassy knoll, the view of the pacific ocean and cliffs were spectacular. Having a seat and just taking it all in was nice.
