Not transparent about credit card charges…read more I went in for a massage, I asked if they accepted credit card and receptionist said yes and did not mention credit card surcharges. I was charged 4% on $50 for the massage that I had to pay before receiving the service, a separate transaction was made after the service for the tip and I was charged 10% processing/surcharge fee!! The audacity. No where in the establishment nor did the receptionist mention this extra fee. The massage was good but UNETHICAL practice, not sure if this is even legal. I asked the masseuse about the surcharge and percentage before paying the tip and she said "she doesn't know because it's not the business that is charging but the credit card machine" LOL I called and asked why they are not transparent about the fees or consistent with the percentage and the receptionist just said "our regular customers know" no offers to refund. Terrible.

This was by far the worst massage I have ever had, and I've had a number of massages in my day…read more This was absolutely NOT the deep tissue massage I signed up for. I have plenty of knots, but the therapist did not seem to be aware of them, let alone how to work on them. My back is in significant pain after my massage, whereas beforehand it was just a bit tight. Not to mention, the massage table was covered with musty damp towels, and the level of professionalism was lacking. My overall impression was that the business owner was unprepared for my visit and had an employee who isn't actually trained in massage perform the massage. I tipped the person who performed the massage 20% because I honestly just felt bad that she clearly had tried but didn't actually know how to do a massage.

Months ago I purchased a Groupon for two massages with Shannon of Sanctum Therapy. All of a sudden…read moreI realized it was about to expire and when I called, Shannon was very responsive and happy to book my appointments as soon as possible. Just as an fyi, she is very busy so email was ultimately the best way to communicate with her. If you are able to use that method, I highly recommend it instead.... otherwise you may end up playing a bit of phone tag. I was familiar with Breathe Yoga Studio already so I knew exactly where she was located but for the uninitiated, Breathe is in the shopping center at Pollard and Winchester. Aldo's Ristorante and The Garret Station are in the same center. Parking is ample. The studio is small and serene and the massage room is in the back behind the tea bar. Check in with the receptionist and they will let Shannon know you're there. The room itself is very nice and has a huge bathroom with a shower attached so that you can rinse off before or after (though, I wouldn't expect to spend a lot of time primping unless you make prior arrangements.... time may be a factor). Shannon is very straightforward and open. I found her easy to talk with and give feedback to... More quiet massage was also very comfortable. Shannon is a strong woman and very thorough so if you're looking for a therapeutic, sports or deep tissue massage with someone who will really listen, pay attention and give you what you need... you'll be very happy here. Due to the overall set up, however, those who are looking for a more candlelight spa relaxation type experience may be happier elsewhere. I like both... so I'll definitely be back.

this review is about a year overdue, but better late than never!…read more i scheduled a 90 minute massage with shannon about a week before my half marathon since i knew that my muscles would be needing some tender loving care the day after the race. it was easy scheduling a time with shannon, i called her, left a voice mail with my preferred day/time and she called me back shortly thereafter and we confirmed an appt. when i came in, my legs were definitely quite sore and tight, so i came in hoping that shannon would be able to ease the tightness, flush out the lactic acid, and get some blood circulating back in my quads, hamstrings, and calves. we spent a few minutes discussing my needs and current status, and shannon told me that she regularly works on tri-athletes and is therefore very familiar with athletes' muscles. since i was fresh off a "stressful" event, at least, for my body, she said that she would not be giving me deep tissue treatment, but rather a lighter, swedish to help loosen up the tight leg muscles. she used long, smooth strokes on my legs, and took her time in breaking up the tight muscles and adhesions that had formed as a result of the pounding from the day before. she also spent a good amount of time on my back since that was a bit sore as well, not quite as sore as my legs, but still in need of some attention. overall, i received an excellent massage, and shannon definitely has a great feel for the body. aside from the fact that i had just completed a half marathon 24 hrs earlier and was quite sore from the waist down, i didn't have to give her any additional information in order for her to give me a fabulous massage.

Sign says some French name and not Heart Centered Massage so that was confusing. When you set an appointment online, be sure to CALL and confirm it. I called to confirm, and turns out it double booked so she asked if I can change the time to half an hour later so thank goodness I called to make sure. INSIDE: is nice, professional, classy, nice enough to bring a date. Bathrooms were clean and nice too. Couples massage room had heated tables and a water fountain. MASSAGE: R did my massage and N did my partner's massage. R asked me where I wanted to focus on and how much pressure I liked. And he checked in periodically to ask how I was doing. MORE DEALS: they offered to purchase the same Groupon. My card was charged and the girl said I would get emailed a receipt. Been a couple weeks and I still haven't gotten an email. I called, and they re-sent the email from a yahoo account and advised that sometimes the credit card auto email does not go through.

Let me start by saying if I could give this place 0 stars I would!…read more I purchased a Groupon for this place. BIG MISTAKE!!! I could not get an appointment for weeks. I left several voice messages and it took days to get a call back. When I finally got a call back it was like pulling teeth to schedule an appointment. This place does not offer convenient appointment times. Most people work during the middle of the day and there were very few evening appointments. When we did finally agree on a date and time I was supposed to receive an email confirmation. That NEVER came! I called a few days before my appointment was supposed to be scheduled to confirm, since I didn't receive a confirmation. Again, I left several message and waited two days to receive a return phone call. The girl I spoke with, Amber, states that they did not have me on the schedule. WHAT!? all this hassle and they LOST MT APPT!!! I cancelled the entire thing. If they can't even schedule an appointment correctly, I am afraid to see what type of massage they would provide. Needless to say, I got my money back from Groupon and found and even better place in the process.
