Unfortunately, my interactions with Helen P., who oversees intern and practicum placement communication, were extremely disappointing. Over the course of several weeks, I made multiple attempts to follow up through email, phone calls, and voicemails regarding placement information and next steps. While I understand people can become busy, the level of communication I experienced felt unprofessional and dismissive from a prospective intern's perspective. On one occasion, Helen P. briefly answered my call and stated she would respond to my email the following week because then wasn't a good time, but I never received a follow-up. After continued attempts to communicate, I still received little to no response. As someone pursuing clinical training opportunities, I believe professionalism, responsiveness, and clear communication are incredibly important. Unfortunately, this experience did not leave a positive first impression, and based on my experience, I would not recommend Carrollton Springs to prospective interns or practicum students seeking a supportive and communicative placement site.

Absolutely unacceptable experience at Collin Springs…read more As a parent with a court order granting me access to my child's medical information, I was repeatedly denied basic communication regarding my daughter's treatment and discharge. My calls were ignored, my questions went unanswered, and it took nearly a week to receive a response to a simple email. This is not just poor service--it raises serious concerns about compliance and patient rights. When I showed up in person, the situation got worse. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive. I asked to speak with a therapist or someone in charge and was told to wait. I sat in the lobby for over an hour, only to find out that staff had left while knowing I was there waiting. That level of avoidance is both unprofessional and concerning. During this process, I also spoke with another parent whose child experienced similar "treatment"--which appeared to consist largely of children sitting in a room for hours with little meaningful engagement. That is not acceptable for a facility entrusted with overnight mental health care for minors. At no point did Collin Springs make any effort to: * Communicate clearly * Include me as a parent * Provide reassurance about my child's care Getting basic information felt like pulling teeth the entire time. What's most telling is that after failing to communicate throughout my child's stay, they had no issue reaching out when it came time for billing. This facility showed a lack of transparency, professionalism, and respect for parental rights. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution any parent to think twice before trusting this place with their child's care. Avoid this facility if you have other options.

My son had just turned 14 yo and had tried alcohol and marijuana a handful of times to help cope with intrusive thoughts. Clearfork is a drug rehab. Not a mental health treatment facility. Period. They state they treat mental health with various modalities, but the notes state he received little therapeutic help, even when he was attacked by older boys at Clearfork. They state my son was passively suicidal and needed to be transferred to higher care, yet the website and intake ensures they treat passive suicidal ideation?? What Clearfork will do, is to bill your health insurance for a 45-60 day treatment period, when in actuality they discharged him after two beatings, in turn amplifying his symptoms from an already excruciating PTSD diagnosis. They did not help my son. They left him terrified and alone, wanting his mom. I am finishing my bachelors this semester in Psychology with a focus on trauma and adolescents. I also have a passion for justice and civil rights, especially for our children. This is not a safe place for kids suffering with mental health issues as their primary issue needing treatment. Clearfork has also retained $4200 paid to them for a 45-60 day intensive mental health program, when he spent less than 2 weeks there. Clearfork was not a safe place for my child. He was physically assaulted twice by the same two older boys. The second attack came after the director promised me he would be safe. He was not given any medication for sleep or anxiety. He was given nicotine without my knowledge or consent. He was transferred after the director called and said that the worker was "scared" and that my child was "suicidal." At the hospital, he was medicated the way he should have been at Clearfork for his anxiety and sleep and began to heal in a safe environment, albeit not the proper environment. Did I mention I was renting hotels and driving back and forth 10 hours trying to support both kids? My son BEGGED me to send him anywhere but Clearfork for continued care. The social worker at the hospital advised I listen to him. He preferred the mental hospital they pawned him off to after pocketing thousands of dollars they did not earn. The medical records have been altered the last couple days before he was discarded by Clearfork. The director nor therapist shared any mental health issues for the last several days he was in their care other than being triggered from being assaulted. I checked in daily and there were zero other issues reported. The notes checked passive suicidal also still has the "no" checked on thoughts of suicide, because it was overlooked when updating the notes four days after my son left Clearfork. I was told by Clearfork that they would refund me, if I took my review down. They sent me a contract but it is very open ended where they never actually have to release the payment. This is my first review. I advised Clearfork that they must have me confused with someone else that they have done this to.
