Though my wedding was in New Hope, I live in NYC. I was able to meet with Kate only once and knew from the first meeting that she really understood our style and vision. She lives on a beautiful little farm where she grows all of her flowers. After our meeting, she created a Pinterest board for my wedding where we both shared ideas and arrangements for the various aspects of the ceremony and reception. Kate is super creative and really knows her stuff. She came up with some gorgeous arrangements and beautifully incorporated the vintage vases that my mom collected. We planned to have our wedding entirely outside, but the weather had other plans for us :) Everything had to be moved inside of 2 barns. The day before the event, I spoke to Kate to go over the changes. I was initially worried about how everything would translate inside, but after talking with her I felt so much better. She was able to bring the outside in by totally transforming the barns into a magical and romantic floral wonderland. I have no doubt that Kate and her assistant worked incredibly hard that day and handled all of the changes with professionalism and grace. They even added some last second details, such as adding candles to the tables and brought in an awesome chandelier made from branches and flowers! When I walked in to the space, I was truely overwhelmed. It was like a dream! But unlike some cities, Philadelphia does not have a central "flower market" and so I began my search for a local wholesaler. Fortunately, it didn't take long for me to come across Younger and Son. We really thought we'd be FedEx'ing flowers across the country to get some of the stuff I wanted but that ended up not being the case at all. I emailed Younger and Son and quickly had a reply from Peter who let me know they were more than happy to work with us. He was great throughout the ordering process - quick to reply both by email and phone and just plain friendly (which we all know is not always the case in our beautiful yet exhausting industry.) I gave them a long list for my order along with some back up items as some of the stuff was out of season. Not only did absolutely everything we ordered come in as some of the BEST quality I've seen of these particular flowers, they were able to supply us specialty items such as fiddle heads (came in a good 2 ft long!), slipper orchids, mixed herbs, succulents and beautiful garden roses. Additionally, I had on my "not-in-a-million-years-wishlist" yellow peonies (they have a pretty magenta center) which were about 4 weeks past season - we got those too and they weren't some shriveled little ball that rots before opening. They were huge, perfect, fragrant showstoppers. After receiving the order we did from Younger and Son, I am confident they are they kind of wholesaler that does not compromise quality. And I'm sure that even if you do not have a resale license as we did, they are willing to work with you. My advise to anyone doing their own flowers or at least their own ordering is to pay attention to seasonality, be flexible and have backups to your wishlist and trust this wholesaler to give you what they know is coming in best that week. As a side note, this is a full-service floral supplier so we ordered a number of hard goods from them as well. An excellent resource in the Philadelphia area!

It arrived looking so different that at first I wasn't sure if they delivered the wrong bouquet.On the website, it had an orange and purple color scheme, which was important and 80% of the reason why I picked it, but they ended up replacing the orange roses with yellow ones and made the whole thing HIDEOUS. My mom was glad to receive it because she always appreciates gifts from me, but I could tell immediately she did not like the color scheme. When I called them to report this and ask if they had any other orange flowers, the staff AND then the manager COULDN'T GIVE A DAMN and they both spoke in a defensive and obnoxious manner. No understanding, no consolation, no accommodation, nothing but coldness. Their vibe was "we got your money, you'll never get it back and you can go die in a ditch". The manager, being the jackass he is, even tried to defend himself by saying they get a lot of calls asking about where the flowers are and when they would be sent - as if that's relevant to my case, and as if that's not a normal part of running a business. I wonder what his point was. I understand certain flowers won't always be in stock, and I, as a first time customer, didn't know they wouldn't contact me regarding substitutions unless I specified it on their website. But they were so obnoxious and callous in the way they talked. They even said they did the bouquet as close as possible though the bouquet's color scheme was completely changed. They have zero aesthetics if they believe they were telling the truth. I'll take my business elsewhere.

When Karen heard it, right away she gives me her honest opinion, "The colors are not going to look anything to your theme when the photos come back to you." I have not put all those color combinations together and think bout how the photoshoot picture would come out with those colors schemes. After meeting up and having our discussions, she was able to help me settled a better and more beautiful bouquet. I love her idea! And look forward to seeing her works. She is definitely a trustworthy florist. If she thinks it wouldn't have a nice presentation, she would let you know her professional opinion. She is quite trendy and techy too. I called the store, and was immediately given a postive impression from the owner Brian, who listened to what I was looking for, and gave me straighforward and reasonable quotes. He was VERY accomadating with my requests (I wanted local and seasonal flowers, and requested hydrangeas and a few specific flowers). My fiance and I met with him at the store, and just felt so at ease with his knowledge, creativity, and energy- that we signed a contract that day. The store was clean, neat and filled with a variety of art and gifts that made us want to stay and look longer! On August 8th, I arrived at my wedding venue to find that Brian, from Primrose had delivered the boquets and arrrangements early. Ownership has had hard times in recent years and contemplated selling and sliding into retirement. As yet, that hasn't taken place, so I am relieved when it remains open and blooming. When I lived in Holland, BCR was a 20 minute walk, and I took heavy advantage of that. Didn't need reservations to look around and any purchase was always appreciated by a neighbor. Now, it is a 10 minute drive, so I have to plan more thoroughly to make the cruise over, and those monthly cut long stems on the kitchen table binges are are thing of the past. Prices have inflated along with everything else, and perhaps, the day of flowering rose romance is a bit hackneyed and worn, but I hope that is not so. After all, a tiny bit of my heart is in every fragrant petal. See you guys next February.

They were delivered precisely as ordered right to her desk at her place of work. She was extremely happy and I know it made her day. Unfortunately recent discussions with the owner indicates he is trying to sell to the vested interests. The township blocked the sale so - good fo me I will still be able to get flowers locally when needed. The business is dependable and always has top quality product.
