4 stars??? I have never made a purchase like this before…read more I visited The Carpet Store because I was buying carpet for a Townhouse I had under contract. I wanted the carpet installed immediately after I closed . I went to The Carpet Store to pick out and purchase carpet. I went early on a Saturday morning. This place is a warehouse not really a "store". Several people were available to help fairly quickly. One to take the plans I brought in and attempt to measure, the other to help us select carpet. I did not know what I was getting myself into because I had no idea there were so many options and the entire process was confusing. From which brand, which material, which padding and the most difficult decision, which color... I was not prepared but I knew I was making a decision that day. Two hours later, I knew a bit more about carpet and padding and stain resistance, etc. We put down a $1000 deposit so they would make an appointment to measure which was scheduled the next week, once they measured, the carpet was ordered and took about a week and half to come in. Long story short, we did not close on the Townhouse and were refunded $750 of the $1000 deposit that was for approximately $3000 worth of carpet. We have about 6 months to use the $250 credit. I am giving 4 stars because this was a difficult process and I have nothing to compare to. The Carpet Store did a pretty good job helping us through it he process. I think!

My tile was to be installed in less than a week, all the while I'm made to assume that my tile is waiting to be picked up. I get a call from the carpet store telling me later that my tile is not available. This is the last thing you want to hear when time is of the essence. Perhaps it was due to the crisis that the tile didn't make it in time. Who knows! I was told I'd hear back with an alternative that closely resembled the original, never heard back. I'll give them a 3 star rating for the initial service I got from them, but this was a big time waster for me.

I was in desparate need for a particular floor that our local installer couldn't find. They carried…read morethe exact wood we needed and they quickly shipped the wood to us, 600 miles away. When we got around to opening up the wood, we discovered they shipped the wrong product! My order was correct and the invoice was correct. They just pulled the wrong product. For this, they get 1 star. HOWEVER, when I brought this to their attention, they admitted fault and didn't lay any blame at my feet. Less than 36 hours later, they picked up the wood and started the process of a refund. Because they took ownership of the problem and apologized for the error, they get 3 stars back. If they were a local business, I would do business with them again. We are all human and mistakes happen. They at least took responsibility for the error.

Lee refunded the cost of the damaged goods and agreed that they will discuss with future buyers that products like the one I bought may not be suitable in dry climates. (We live in the high mountains of southern Colorado at 7,500 ft / no AC / no humidifier and it is not possible to regulate the moisture as we are not always around to manage it) The cupping and splitting from acclimating to our climate that we have experienced with the product we bought is unfortunate and is not something they will warranty. I cannot do anything about this issue short of sanding the entire floor and refinishing it. That is not what we expected from our new floor, but it is what is. All that said, we do appreciate that Lee called and reimbursed us for the damaged flooring.

They had to remove a 6x6 post along with remnants of some other fence post that was here from long ago. They performed a very nice neat clean job. They showed up when they said they would and did exactly everything by the book which also means filing permits and arranging inspections which is always PITA. From the 3 bids I got they were not the most expensive nor the cheapest but what they were was responsive and followed through with their work which is rare to find a residential contractor like this in Florida. We got our estimate fast and were scheduled for our new fence a few months later. This delay was completely understandable considering how much damage there was in our area. On our scheduled date, two workers showed up on time and spent the better part of a day replacing our old wooden fence with a new, vinyl one. I gave them a follow up call and got a reasonable quote, and setup an appointment for 9/29. Two people came out and quickly worked to get the fan up though they did need a taller ladder. So, they had to go to get one, but these ceilings are hard to gauge in feet. Upon returning they had the fan up quickly and left. It works great. All I can say is excellent service and excellent knowledge of what needed to done.
