I absolutely love LaVita massage!…read more I initially came to LaVita because I was given a Spa Finder gift card and they are accepted here. I did not have high hopes as most subscription based massage places have a lot of turnover and therapist that just seem like they want to get through the 50 minutes exuding the least amount of energy as possible. My massage therapist at LaVita was exactly the opposite. He asked about my trouble areas and gave me the best deep tissue massage I have ever received focusing on the knots in my back that were causing pain. Most 1 hour massages are a clinical hour "50 minutes". They give you 5 minutes to get ready and 5 minutes to get dressed. Some places take this to the next level, I've watched the clock and received 40 minutes in some cases. Not here, after 3 visits I have never felt they were limiting my massage time or putting less effort in to the massage since I subscribed to the monthly program. I highly recommend!

For the price and quality, there is no point going anywhere else…read more I've been going to Valerie for about a year and a half now. I started with prenatal massages, which you can read about in my first review, and I continued to go for a monthly massage postpartum. You cannot beat the price. She has raised her prices a little, but you can still buy a package where each massage will end up being less than $50. This is absolutely amazing when you compare it to other places. She also always goes beyond the full hour. Usually massage places take away time that you undress and get into the bed. Not Valerie. I routinely notice that I leave fifteen minutes past the hour. I get cupping done and it helps loosen my muscles. I tend to work out at least five times a week and I'm terrible at stretching so I do this as a way to try to thank my body. It is so relaxing and healing all at the same time. Whenever people talk about going other places for massages I think you're definitely paying more for the same, or lesser, quality. I should probably start voicing these opinions to be a good friend. Well, I'm telling the world here, so that should count for something. Just don't fill up my monthly massage spot!

Her place is located…read morein a yoga studio and wellness complex just off Florida Ave. Parking is in a dirt lot behind the complex, then you walk up very steep black stairs to her massage area. Scheduling my appointment was easily done online. Kaita is so pleasant and efficient, and the atmosphere was so relaxing, the time absolutely flew by. I chose to do cupping too, which I've never tried before. I found it interesting that cupping happens concurrently to the massage, to enhance the massage and provide deep-tissue massage to wherever the cups are placed. Kaita listened to where my problem areas were, and focused on addressing those issues. I've had stiff upper back muscles for almost a month now, and those are completely back to normal after seeing Kaita. I've already scheduled my next visit for a month from now - I can't wait!

Authentic awesome Chinese massage! This is not the sketchy tinted windows asian massage type place…read more- you know what I'm talking about. I'm so glad we stumbled onto Oriental Massage! It's located in a very empty mall, and owned by a lovely, professional Chinese couple. Prices are on point! If you're not familiar with Chinese massage, they do a super deep massage- you will be beaten (in a good way) and feel amazing after. You are fully clothed and behind a screen, so out of view from general mall people. Be open about how much pressure you want and whether you have particular sore areas. *Side Note: I'm currently going to Moffitt for cancer chemo treatments and this is my new "cheer up" activity on my treatment days. They are very careful with me to do light pressure and work around my neulasta sticker etc. My sister asked for the "regular" super deep Chinese massage and said it was just like her massage person in China, where she lives!

I had previously gone elsewhere for a massage but I'm retrospect, it felt like I was being massaged by students in training. Buffy, was the epitome of what a massage therapist should be. Knowledgeable and extremely professional with training in eastern techniques.( China & Thailand) Her methods and tone were relaxing and hypnotic. I had rotator cuff , hand and neck injuries that are amazingly pain free without surgery as suggested by my Dr. The experience left me wondering how I've lived without a massage of this level for most of my life.
