Could not look cheaper or tackier. They used a label maker to put our dog's name on the frame. We also asked, specifically for our dogs fur, she was a black and tan Doberman and, well, again, the pictures speak for themselves. We wrote on the form, when they picked her up to make sure that they gave us both black and tan fur. She had a lot of tan fur in her paws that we should have clipped ourselves in retrospect. We got a tiny amount of black fur (it doesn't even look like hers). We had our last cat cremated at her vet and they did a much better job with the paw print and glass vial (filled with her fur). What's done is done. Also, it should be "forever in our hearts" with a "s" because "our" is plural. Just sloppy and cheap.

We were deciding on the place option for euthanasia - while at-home was our first choice, the literal thousands of dollars in costs is for us close to highway robbery and we could not justify it. Paws and Claws gave us a reasonably priced option to take our Shiba to a calm, quiet location - the suite next door to their aquamation storefront - and gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes (while the at home euthanasia fees for services always seemed to mention how they would charge you extra for going beyond 15-30 minutes, leaving a bad taste in my mouth). I still feel there are some pets who will truly benefit from the in-home option, but given that our Shiba was gloriously independent and didn't give two hoots about most things in life, the in-suite option gave us the privacy and time we needed and the assurance that our pup's body would be compassionately moved right next door for aquamation. Brian and Deanna were great in helping us coordinate everything and Dr. Mark is a terrific vet. Hopefully it's a long way from today, but when we need this service again, Paws and Claws will be the first place I call.

Her incision and stitches did not look right, and she developed open wounds, signs of infection, and significant discomfort. I contacted the office multiple times, sent photos, and brought her in for a follow-up, yet I was repeatedly told that everything looked normal and that she was fine. After continuing to raise concerns, I was finally told to take her to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital. I spent the night there and was charged nearly an additional $1,000 to have her incision re-stitched. It was incredibly frustrating to have repeatedly voiced concerns, only to end up paying significantly more to address a problem I had been told multiple times was "fine." I expressed how unhappy I was with the situation and was told the medical director would contact me. I never received a call. More recently, I noticed a pattern on the whites of my cat's eyes and sent a photo to the office. I was told by the vet that it was not normal and that I should either bring her in or see a veterinary ophthalmologist. I followed their recommendation and went to the ophthalmologist they referred me to, only to be told after a 20 second exam that what I was seeing was completely normal. I still had to pay the office visit and exam fees. Between the complications from her spay, my concerns being repeatedly dismissed, the lack of follow-up from the medical director, and being unnecessarily worried and referred to a specialist for something that turned out to be normal, I've lost confidence in the care provided here. My experiences with Dr. Ramos and other veterinarians at both the primary care office and hospital have left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that the level of care, communication, and professionalism was not what I would expect from a veterinary practice. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

We were able to drop her off by 10:00 a.m. that same morning. They had a bed ready for her, and we were able to witness her cremation the very next day. When we returned on August 26 for the viewing, the setup exceeded our expectations. London was on the same bed with a blanket over her and looked peaceful. We had about 30 minutes with her and were never rushed. After the cremation, we received her ashes an hour and a half later. Everyone we met was compassionate and helpful. We would not hesitate to use them again.

Not many crematoriums are open on Sundays. I called a number in Van Nuys that I found on Yelp, but the man referred me to Furrever Friends. I'm so glad he did. Heather at Furrever Friends was so kind on the phone and in person. She made the entire process very smooth and easy. No one wants to be searching for at-home euthanasia services, but struggled for a long time to land…read moreon the best choice. I did not end up going with this service, but I felt it was necessary for me to write about what I was told on the phone call, and how I was addressed. I was already struggling with the decision. My 11.5 year old pup suddenly came down with pericardial effusion with a very poor, and short-lived prognosis. I had to make my decision with only a couple of days to research. When I called this place, it was around 4:00pm. I don't remember who was on the phone, but the woman who picked up made me feel like I shouldn't have been calling or that I was interrupting something. I get that we all have bad days in customer service jobs, and maybe this was just a bad day for this person. It was, however, one of the worst days of my life, and I still tried to be kind and reiterate my answers to her questions. I asked about specific verbiage on the website and to clarify what it meant, and I was met with something like "It is exactly as described on the website, did you re-read it?" and I was immediately taken aback. I was trying to get information on pricing, and how the procedure might go since my dog's physical condition was sensitive and fragile. She told me that if I was this concerned I should be going to an actual veterinary office to inquire, but that their veterinarians are very qualified to perform the procedure. Everything felt oddly defensive. I was having a hard time keeping my tears away during the call, and she kept telling me she couldn't understand me when I asked for a moment. Then, she told me if I wanted the doctor to come to my house right now, she'd need to charge me an insane extra fee. I understand after-hours fees, but we hadn't even gotten to appointment scheduling yet. I asked if I could think about it and get back to her, and she said yes, but I she would only hold my appointment slot for 30 minutes for the following morning if I wanted to do that. And, if she didn't hear back in 30 minutes. I'd have to call and reschedule a different day because the doctors are "very very busy". I felt like I was being rushed along without receiving much comfort or consultation, this is the first time I've ever sought-out an at-home pet euthanasia, so I was hoping for some guidance. Overall, this felt extremely callous, and I am so glad I went with a different service who made me feel cared for and were very accommodating and professional. The other service also fully articulates the fees they charge on their website with no hidden fees. Hard pass on this place; I see all these 5-star reviews, so hopefully my experience was just an anomaly.
