This is a lovely little thrift store right on downtown Main Street in Sandwich. It is associated…read morewith the attached Episcopal church and church volunteers were running the shop and register. It is relatively small inside, so it is set up to walk through in a one-direction loop rather than being able to meander around. The donated goods are mostly mall brands and the styles were pretty basic wares, but the prices were excellent. Like all thrift stores, you never know what you will find that day which is part of the joy of thrifting. Everything was clearly price marked and very affordable (for example, all shirts were $3 and all shoes were $5). Everything was clean and for the most part organized, with a few large totes and bins you could dig through.

Due to their system of first come first serve I was told once that there were 12 people ahead of me. No respect for my time. They need to do a better job with some sort of consigning system or make appointments available. Blooming Resale in Cataumet has a very efficient system. Maybe follow them. I brought in my antique engagement ring that was incorrectly resized by a previous jeweler…read moreresulting in an oval shank. I had concerns about the ring spinning despite resizing. Gary inspected the ring in great detail and made a recommendation to remove some of the shank and rebuild it, as well as to place tension springs to prevent spinning and slipping. He took his time to measure my finger for the optimal fit. I was told by another jeweler that all of my prongs needed replacement and I wanted a second opinion. Gary again took his time to inspect all the prongs and reassured me that they didn't need replacement. I was very glad for his honesty. The next business day, Gary fixed the ring in 3-4 hours and it came out beautifully. I was so nervous previously to entrust someone with my ring, but I felt at ease. Gary offered that I stay and watch the entire process. He told me to inspect my gemstone carefully after his job was complete as general good practice after having my jewelry worked on! I am so happy with the end result and strongly recommend this jeweler. The key factors that impressed me most were honesty, trustworthiness, attention to detail, patience, mastery of his craft, and sharing of knowledge/providing an understandable rationale for his decision-making. I will absolutely be returning for intermittent ring checks!
