Wow! So glad I recommended Angel to the Korean American Bar Association of San Diego! Their service was phenomenal. They arrived to our venue in San Diego on time, had the room setup on time, and served everyone with a smile. The guests loved the Korean food! Everything was tasty and served slightly heated. There was enough food options for those unfamiliar with Korean food. Thank you Brian and his team for making our event a success!! read more

My husband and I chose Angel Catering for our wedding. The whole process was so smooth and easy. The staff showed up early to set up (thank you so much). All of my (multicultural) guests LOVED the food!!! It was prepared with care and the variety made it enticing for my guests to try new things, which I absolutely adored seeing. Brian came to MC the Paebaek ceremony. My friends asked where I found such a funny guy :) It definitely made my wedding an intimate, meaningful event. Thank you again Brian and Angel Catering! read more

2nd time ordering (very last minute too) for a doshirak party of 50, but in buffet style. Food was plentiful, banchan was high quality, and the yook geh jang soup was perfect (not too spicy, lotsa meat). Delivery was on time, plenty of high quality utensils (no flimsy plates or skinny chopsticks that break when opening), so happy I found Angel Catering. read more

I had a wedding in Glendale on a Saturday evening and everything from the start to the finish was great. Our wedding was planned out in a rush, so we were anxious whether we can get decent food for a group of 150 at the best accommodating price. We found Angel Catering and their prices were affordable and since we were reserving our food almost at last minute, about 3 weeks before. We decided to go with them. Brian was most helpful and the communication with him was great. Because of his expertise and experience in the business for years now, he was able to give proper suggestions that would suit both Korean and American guests. The guests appreciated the food that was served and everything worked out at the end. I'm thankful to Brian and all his professional staffs. The food was delivered on time, presented well, and the wrap up was great. Thanks Angel Catering! read more

So I had a 70th b day party for some 40 people and it turned out great! Sorry I forgot to take pics of food when there were no people but food was just as great. I really liked the table settings they did. I was just thinking they would bring table covers but they even brought serving platters in gold, chair covers n table skirts!! Oh not to mention cloth napkins with real plates. The 2 servers - sorry didn't get their names, 2 Korean guys but were super nice n professional m even served wine to my guests. It all worked out great!! Thanks for the great service read more

This Angel Catering's name is very good ! But, Service is no good. Food quality, quantity and freshness.. there is no meaning to comment about this company's simple food service and so on.. I don't want to recomend to the other people. I think , catering company has to follow up faithfully the Small order than Big order. Small order create Big order ! read more

Just came back from an event that Angel Catering hosted and I just had to take the time to say how wonderful of a job they did. The food was very delicious and the variety of Korean dishes was also very impressive. The wait staff were very professional and speedy as well. Angel Catering is the go to catering service in and around the LA and OC area in my honest opinion. They are everywhere these days and for good reason...the word of mouth is spreading and the reviews are only growing! They are definitely in a league of their own. Pros: Great food, lots of variety, authentic Korean cuisine, reasonably priced, professional wait staff, highly experienced in their industry, great word of mouth Cons: None that I can think of at this time other than they are always busy and booked so reserve in advance! TIP: Ask for Brian the manager who will go out of his way to make sure your requests and questions will be answered and taken care of in a timely manner. read more

I hired Angel Catering for my daughters first birthday party and they were a hit. The whole process was easy. Initial consult with Brian was quick and easy and the price was just right. On the day of they came 1 hour early to set up. The buffet line looked great. Pretty fancy, they had table linen and chair covers that made our simple community center room look fancier than it really was and EVERYONE including my non-korean guests raved about how good the food was. I was so relieved. When all was done I paid the manager on site Paul in the envelope and left cash on top for tip. He came back to me and informed me I put $100 too much in the envelope. It was so chaotic and hectic that day so he could have easily pocketed the money, but didn't. I truly appreciated the honesty and all the hard work these people put into our party. would definitely recommend and use again. read more

Just got married in April 2013 and we had Angel Catering at a church. First off, their prices are VERY VERY competitive. We chose them because their food was delicious and their prices were fair. The owner, Brian, was so patient with our crazy requests and actually offerred up helpful tips on what people like and what they dont. The day of the wedding, the caterers showed up on time and wasted no time setting up. The owner then showed up and made sure everything was on point. He even stayed until almost the last guest left to make sure that we didnt need anything else. All my guests raved about the food and even took home left overs as the cater provides extra food... Just in Case. The staff was courteous and made sure that everyone had what they needed. I will warn you that when you order the cake, beware that the cutting knife is a sword. AN ACTUAL SWORD. So I recommend you get your own cake cutter; I got a bedazzled one :) Otherwise, everything was so easy. I followed on numerous questions and they responded quickly, which is so important when planning a wedding. read more

BE AWARE. THEY REUSE THE DISHES. a piece of leftover - actually it was A CHEWING CHICKEN MEAT WITH A PIECE OF ONION - came out of the stir-fried bean sprouts. There wasn't even a chicken or onion dish on today's menu. THIS IS SOOOO DISGUSTING. All my coworkers were sooo shocked, we just stopped eating and threw them away immediately. The disgusting feeling doesn't go away until now... I HOPE THAT THIS NEWS COULD SPREAD AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE SO THERE WON'T BE ANY VICTIMS LIKE US and hopefully, fingers crossed, the company stop reusing the leftover dishes. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered a few trays of food to supplement our wedding buffet, which mostly consisted of American dishes but being Korean and my husband Chinese we really wanted to incorporate a few of our favorite dishes like Kampong Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, nigiri sushi and fruit. My mother called to place the order and spoke to Brian Baek, supposedly the manager/owner. He took the order, took my mother's credit card info and guaranteed that the 2 special dishes (shrimp and chicken) would be great and that a tasting probably wasn't necessary. Due to a hectic schedule, we didn't do any tasting but their pictures and reviews seemed decent so we trusted them. The day BEFORE our wedding, my mother calls them to confirm everything and make sure they get to the venue on time. Our wedding coordinator called Mr. Baek several times and left at messages so that she could get their licensing info, etc. since the venue needed that. Not only was the answering machine ONLY in Korean (so if you weren't Korean, good luck!), but they NEVER called her back. Luckily my mother called the day before the wedding again. Unfortunately, they LOST our order and said we didn't order anything. The lady on the phone covered up the phone and started talking to Mr. Baek on the side, but my mother could still hear them talking. Basically Mr. Baek wrote down the order but never put IN the order!!!! Also they wanted to charge an extra $1 per shrimp on top of what they had quoted only a few weeks prior. So they wanted to charge us $2.50 per shrimp!!!! That's damn expensive! My parents have owned a sushi bar for over 10 years and know that they were getting ripped off but since it was the day before our wedding, she didn't have much choice. The food arrived the next day with no problem. However, it was all crap! The Kampong chicken was the worst I've ever ever ever had! Panda Express orange chicken would have so much better than the crap they brought us. Also the walnut shrimp was so soggy and tasteless. We specifically asked when initially ordering if the crispiness of the food would be an issue, and Mr. Baek reassured us that it would still be crispy. Nope!!!! The shrimp was the soggiest walnut shrimp I ever had. The Kampong chicken was by far the worst though. It tasted like week old chicken that was deep fried several times, and they brought us 2 trays of that crap when we ordered only 1. It was so dry, chewy, tasteless and was nothing like Kampong chicken. Who put peanuts in kampong chicken????? We seriously should have had American catering company just emulate the recipes which could have been better than what Angel Catering brought. There was so much of the chicken left at the end of the night, which all went in the trash where it really belonged. The sushi was mediocre, mostly frozen fish was used. I highly recommend using a different catering company. This company is shady, unreliable and have terrible, terrible food. A Korean catering company that can't get a couple of dishes right, is extremely disappointing especially when these 2 dishes were listed on our menu as being our favorites. It was quite embarrassing to say that those 2 dishes were our favorite when they were crap. Stay far away from this place. I'm Korean and would never ever recommend this place to ANYONE!! They have bad business practices and can't cook worth sh#t! read more

Angel Catering - Worst Kampong Chicken ever!!! It was hard, dry, tasteless and nothing like what Kampong chicken is supposed to be like. BEWARE! - Caterers Near Me - Norwalk, California

We used them to cater our wedding reception and we were more than pleasantly surprised. To be honest I was a little worried at first with them, given some of the poor reviews. We actually decided to go with them because they were definitely the cheapest Korean catering and the sampled food tasted good. However, with it all said and done, they really were amazing. They really took care of everything and was so accommodating with all the requests that we had (and there were quite a bit!). Without us even having to coordinate with them much, they took care of all the appetizers that we prepared on our own and they even set up pre-made dishes for the entire wedding party (to make sure we had food). As for the food, I thought the quality was great. We had 250 guests, and EVERYONE we asked said that the food was delicious. On the wedding night, Brian made sure with us that everything was going smoothly. He even helped me with the Pae Baek process when we were scrambling to get it going. Brian is amazing! I really can't say how much I appreciate the service we received from them. Thank you!! read more

Thank you to Brian and his wonderful team! A lot of the guests at my son's 1 year birthday was pleased with the quality and taste of the Korean food they had to offer. We got a good price on quality Korean food per person and what it came with. They even offered all the tablecloths, dishes, utensils, and cleanup. The staff was also very nice to even make me a dish when I was too busy to eat and give it to my husband for me. What was also nice about the owner was he had us pay towards the end because he wanted to make sure we were happy with our service before even paying a dime. Thank you so much for your outstanding service! Highly recommend you to others. read more

One of the departments at my company comprises 4 Korean employees. Sometimes I join them for lunch because they all bring different banchan from home (but mostly store bought from the local Korean markets) and we eat potluck style. One day, one of the ladies decided we should try to get food from Angel Catering. I think that department was just tired of preparing food every week and heating, unwrapping, serving, and cleaning up after every lunch. I was skeptical about getting our meals catered because you really never know what ingredients go into each dish, and I'm quite sensitive to MSG and food additives/chemicals. We signed up for the minimum 2 week delivery package and were straight up shocked at how good the food and prompt the delivery was every single day. Seriously, we ordered food for 4 people and we literally fed and continue to feed about 8 people every day! (No joke). Our CEO walked into the lunchroom one day and asked what the heck we were doing as he looked at the massive spread on the table. He was surprised that the price for the food quantity and quality was so competitive. He also assumed that we would only get veggie banchans, but they include a meat dish like fish or Korean BBQ for every single catered lunch! And, to top it all off, they include huge pot of Korean stew and a portable burner to heat up the pot! They include an insulated cooler full of rice to keep it warm and even provide us with all the plates, bowls, and utensils. The banchans change daily and it's always a fun, yummy mystery to look forward to each day. It is almost disturbing at how excited we are with this place. Cheonsa Catering, dang...seriously? You're going to be working with our company for a loooooong time, because our two weeks package is up and we have already made converts out of several other employees from different departments, and they want in on the Korean deliciousness. I also get the feeling that some of our employees are going to stop cooking for their own families at home and rely on you for your food LOL read more

We hired angel catering for our wedding. We met with Brian couple times to go over the food and to see what was included in our package. Brian definitely tries his best to accommodate your needs and will make changes to the package if needed. I changed several items on the menu for the wedding and substituted it for other food that I thought my guest would prefer. I didn't need a wedding cake, so we asked him if he could give us korean rice cake instead and he agreed on that. Majority of my guests thought the food was good and was amazed to see how much food was ordered. The set up was beautiful and we had lots of food leftover. Some of my guests wished the fried foods were more on the crispier side because they felt like it was too soft, but I was fine with it. They also said the tongs used for the food were weak. The food was difficult to grab with the tongs. We hired 3 waiters to control the buffet line. One was in charge of the meat, another the rice, and the 3rd the rest of the side dishes. They are on the young side, maybe college students? They did a great job in managing the food. Something that I'm grateful for is Brian's honesty in how much food to order. I had about 140 guests and Brian insisted that I order for 130 guests. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough food and that was one thing I told Brian I could not have, to run out of food. But Brian guaranteed me that even with 130, there would be plenty of food. Well, he was right. It was more than enough food and we had a lot of leftovers. Throughout working with Brian, the only thing I feel like he needs to work on is responding to emails. He was responsive to my husband's emails, but whenever I emailed him, I never got a response back. I understand that he has a huge catering business to run, but I think that it's important to respond to your clients in a timely manner. Calling him is better. He usually answers his phone. Thank you angel catering for filling our guests' stomaches! Overall, I would say it was a success! read more

We found Angel catering through an association, and they came very well recommended. So, our expectations were high. They catered our wedding in April of 2016. I was very hesitant about going with a Korean food buffet, but as I was talking to Brian, things started falling into place. I've run a number of events in the past, so I was aware of some of the logistics that go behind organizing events with food. Brian had every answer that I needed, he got in contact with the venue, and definitely went above and beyond. Every guest has been telling me how much they enjoyed the wedding, and that would have definitely not been possible without the help Angel Catering. The food was pretty good, the selection that they offer is quite varied, and if there are left overs, they even have to go boxes for those ladies(cough cough) or single people(cough cough) who want to take whatever they think would make a delicious lunch the next day. I would definitely recommend them, my wife was very happy, since she had a couple of special requests, and Brian was more than happy to hear them out. Overall, I dont think we could have made a better choice. read more

Angel catering has been serving a lot of events i've attended before and every time, they did a really great job. All of the guests including me loved their food! They specialize in Korean food but they do have some of Asian-fusion style food as well such as crab-shell or orange chicken. So, even if you are not very familiar with Korean food, you will always be able to find their food tasty and pleasant. Why I love their food is that it tastes like grand-ma homemade dishes but of course much fancier. I heard some catering companies in LA aren't very careful about sanitary or hygiene issue in their factory kitchen so I was picky about that. However, angel catering takes care of that part strictly If you make some time to visit their factory. I would give these guys 5 stars cus not only their food is great but also di d they really take care of each event professionally. read more

Brian and his team are AMAZING! I'm truly grateful they helped me keep my sanity during crazy wedding day! With the few consultations we had with Brian, he's been so helpful! He even gave us some tidbits that seriously we are so grateful for because that saved my husband and I headaches. He told us to get two separate card boxes and we didn't realize why until he explained to us. Besides their professionalism and magic on keeping a bride sane, the food was really good! Unfortunately, my husband and I weren't able to sit and eat, but we knew it was good when my mom and MIL complimented on the food and service. If you can keep the bride's mom and MIL happy with the food, you know that the company is legit! From the food to the table coverings, we were really happy with Angel Catering. Is there a way to give zero stars??? I talked with Brian over the phone and have been emailing back and forth with him since March for catering needs for an event on May 28, 2017. He had sent me a quote and checklist and menu and I sent him back the menu choices and all that information. I emailed him if he could confirm that everything was good to go and I didn't hear back from him. So I called and the lady on the phone said they can't do my event since they are closed that weekend!! They knew the event date since March and a few weeks before the event they say they can't do it???? And the date of the event was even in the subject line of the email that was going back and forth!!!!! This is so unprofessional! Do not use Angel Catering if you want good attentive service and not get screwed over at the end. They didn't even care. So rude! Here is how the phone conversation went: Angel Catering: Sorry we can't do your event because it's on a long weekend and we're closed. Me: But you guys knew my date from the beginning. Angel Catering: Well we close on long weekends. Me: How are customers supposed to know that? Isn't it your job to tell customers once you find out their event date that you guys are closed? This is very unprofessional and I will be telling others about this. Angel Catering: Yeah go ahead. Sorry. *Hangs Up* read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This so called catering company is highly unprofessional. The lady over the phone was incredibly rude and insensitive. IF I could go back in time and take back one thing from my wedding it would be without a doubt hiring Angel Catering. They deserve NO stars. My wedding was on 09/07/13 we had originally booked NakWon catering but my mother in law had heard good things about Angel Catering from one of her friends. So my husband, mother in law and my mother checked them out and got talked into booking them. Our church is pretty huge and NakWon caters our church events quite often and their food is always good and a lot of our church members questioned why we would go elsewhere. This is WHY, Angel Catering gave us many promises that their food is top notch and they really wanted us to give them a chance so that they can show our church members what they had to offer. This is what they gave us: -BAD Customer service: My husband tried calling them many times to discuss the wedding details. Angel Catering didn't call us back until days before the wedding only to let us know that the cost will go up if we up the guestlist and we said thats fine. -DECOR- One of the main reasons why my husband wanted to go with Angel is because when he was looking at their sample books he saw Pipe and drapes for some of their previous weddings they had done. My husband specifically asked them if they provide the pipe and drape because he was going to hire somebody to do it for us. Brian had said "oh yea we do all that". That was his answer for pretty much EVERYTHING. Anyways come DAY of the wedding my husband asks them ..."wheres the pipe and drape?" and thats when they tell us that they dont do pipe drape. -PROFIT: They dont care to work with you AT ALL all they care about is making profit. We told them we were looking at 300 guests they bring 150 water bottles and 150 canned soft drinks. REALLY? I've never attended a wedding where each guest will take 1 drink for the whole reception not to mention it was a hot summer wedding. We ran out of drinks within 15min of our reception, something I've NEVER experienced. OUR guests had to go run out and buy more. They didn't even bring enough Martinelli bottles some tables didn't have a bottle ...which means they were left out of the toast. Seriously, my husband told them we had 30 tables they bring 18 bottles! If your going to cut costs on MY wedding at least do it in a subtle manner. Tip to angel have your wait staff walk around and pour it in the glasses rather than having 12 tables without a bottle. Speaking of glasses OUR bride and groom glasses were nowhere to be found, we had to go hunting for the staff to bring it out. -HORRIBLE FOOD: You cant mess up Korean food too badly, but I heard so many complaints from my guests about their food. For one the Jap Chae was SPOILED! They blamed it on the heat...hmmm if catering is what you do for a living weather is something you should be prepared for. Have they NEVER catered a summer wedding? Then to top it off they wanted to CHARGE us for something we couldn't even EAT. All in all Angel Catering almost ruined what was supposed to be the best day of my life. Luckily, my husband and I are surrounded by wonderful people who helped save the day! MY tip ..... if your deciding on a catering company and granted i do see some good reviews on here but why risk what happened to me. I would go with NakWon or anything else other than them. read more

what kind of catering company hires servers that talk shit about your wedding, while serving the guests? if the servers you hired made comments like "i'm gonna do something to fuck up this shitty wedding," would you find that acceptable? just normal behavior? the wedding planner had to tell them to shut the hell up if they wanted their tip! unbelievable. these clowns catered my sister's wedding and despite their extremely rude, outrageous and unprofessional behavior, made their tip bc my bro-in-law and sister are more mature than that. to the punk ass servers, you don't like your shitty job? don't like serving people who've spend their hard earned money for your services? then stay home and continue to live off your parents, suckling off their teets till you're in your 30's, bc you won't amount to much else. haha you've been warned. read more

My wife and I hired Angel Catering as we were looking to save in terms of our budget. Over the course of several months of wedding prep, Brian (the one you'd deal with) was very helpful. I've grown up on Korean catering and have all sorts and this was surprisingly good. Honestly, I didn't get to eat all that much during the reception since my wife and I had to make our rounds. But the little we had was solid and I actually had guests give me really good feedback, from Koreans/Asians and non-Asians alike. We even had the option of switching out some of the less popular sides (bahn-chan) and getting eggs rolls, dumplings and shrimp tempura. I was expecting run-of-the-mill. This was pretty good, though. Hats off to Brian and his crew. Thanks for being a part of our wedding! read more

They provided everything that I needed to make my son's bday a success. I definitely recommend anyone that needs a catering company to use this place. This place does it all. Not only are they a catering service, but anything you need with weddings or children's bdays, they got you. And let's not forget the food...awesome. My wife (fiancee at the time) and I hired Angel Catering for a wedding in January however after reading the reviews I wanted to change my mind and wondered if this was the right company to cater my wedding. Two weeks after the event, I can say they truly delivered great food and worked well with my venue to make my wedding and reception an event to remember. I will say that I had some ambivalence about using Korean catering in general. However after going to a few weddings/catered events over the last year, I became convinced that I wanted to have food that would people would remember and enjoy. Most of my friends are not Korean and my wife and I wanted to share some of our culture with them. My wife was recommended Angel Catering through a family member and we decided to use them because their prices were reasonable and I was told their food was decent. Food - For a catering company, their food is excellent and presented very well. I received compliments during the event and after in regards to the quality of the food as well as the presentation. As we had more non-Koreans at our wedding, we chose items which were "Non-Korean Friendly" and everyone seemed to enjoy our protein rich selections. One caveat here is we paid extra for a whole pig and the presentation of this one item pretty much wowed our audience... If you have a big event and want to impress the audience, Get the pig. Utensils - I will say their silverware (forks and knives) and shaffers were a bit old and some needed more polishing than others, but they are presentable and overall I would say this was a minor issue. Staff - The staff brought to my wedding was very professional and polite. They accommodated my requests and worked very well with our venue. Read about a few issues with the staff in other reviews but I only can speak to my experience and my experience was positive. Manager - Brian went above and beyond for our wedding and he accommodated our various requests as our venue had various restrictions and we had more than a few special requests. He was pretty clear on what he could and could not provide in going through our contract and communicated his experiences with other events/weddings and gave us advice where needed. He made sure we were fed before the grand entrance and he also supplied the materials for and mc'd our paebeck (which we opened up for our guests to see) and checked on us through the night. Note we did have a few issues with email communications early on as we would have liked more timely responses, but he eventually responded and as we got closer to the event, his responses were timely. As a final note, all I can say is that everyone enjoyed the food, people were talking about how tasty it was and I loved the food myself. So based on everyone's feedback at my wedding, the size of the event, and my personal experience with the food/manager/staff, I have to give Angel Catering 5 Stars. read more

I would say food is probably the most important part of a reception (aside from the bride & groom, of course ;) ), and Angel Catering did not disappoint. In my first interaction with Brian, I could tell that he genuinely wanted the best for me and my husband - he worked his hardest to work within our budget, he imparted some of his premarital and post-marital wisdom, and he reminded us that he would try his best to make the day as stress-free as possible. So I believed him.. and wasn't disappointed when it came to our wedding day. The food was amazing!! So amazing that I felt like most of our guests were so engrossed with their food that my husband and I were only secondary (which is a good thing because we were busy eating too hehe). We also decided to have a public time of Paebaek (I actually do not recommend doing this in public UNLESS you are well-rehearsed). Angel Catering staff was in charge of setting everything up and walking us through the process. Despite our complete and utter cluelessness, the staff member was extremely patient and understanding. He also thoroughly explained the process to our guests as there were many non-Koreans at the reception. All in all, I am so pleased with how professional, friendly, and skilled everyone at Angel Catering was. Thank you, thank you!! Hope you're prepared to take on a lot of our referrals : ) read more

That's wonderful catering service i've had been experienced.!! I have a brother had wedding in dec in 2013. It had great time with their service... Like food are really fresh. And their service is also very professional!!! One of guest brought two little babies that are totally out of control!!. The manager showed up and played with two babies right behind the hallway. then, they are calm & quiet. That is good impression. Which company can do baby care during the service???? So, everything was great and well done!! I strongly recommend this company if you need Korean catering service. read more

One of THE BEST catering service I've ever experienced in my life, first of all when my girlfriend and I entered the reception area it looked very pretty, everything was set, no delays, and music just playing for the guests to find their seat. When it was time to eat all the waiters were polite and plus the food was fantastic! When the time came the waiters served us drinks and they all knew what they were doing. There was waiters serving certain types of food so that the food doesn't run out before everyone has the chance to get it and they always carried backup. I experienced one of the best reception ever and I know who I'm calling for my wedding read more
