This place was awesome. The kids had a blast and for 17 dollars they had entertainment and we had dinner for tonight! The location was beautiful and the staff was super helpful and kid.

I passed by this place on the way back from Asheville to Atlanta but this place was incredible. I have never done fishing before so I didn't expect to catch any fish but finally I caught some. They were various sizes of trout. My gf and I spent 3 hrs over there and had a good time together. The lady staff was helpful and friendly. Price was reasonable(4.99/lb.) they provide tools, ice and cooler with a couple dollars so you don't need to prepare any tools. Last but not least, trout there tastes so good, no muddy smell, firm meat. I will be back there for sure. Ps. Doggies are lovely

The noise isn't bad,and they have a quiet time from 10pm-8am, so sleeping is simple. Bathrooms are clean and the campground hosts are very nice. Once even brought local caught, fried trout and "Mexican" corn bread to our campsite one evening. My only complaint is that the website tells you to not bring in any foreign firewood, and that they have some for sale. When we got there, they were out of fire wood and we were told that they were "waiting on the guy" for wood. "Fortunately" he came saving me a trip into town, or so I thought. The wood they delivered to our site, two loads - $50 worth - was so green and wet that I had to run into town to buy fire starter bricks just to get it going. Batoning the wood into kindling and even shaving it into starter pieces proved futile. Even after getting the fire going, it wasn't very warm as it was struggling to burn the wood that smoked and sizzled. That is my only complaint for a lovely site. There are tons of trails and scenery to take in. I highly recommend the campground!

They are also dog friendly and even have a horse friendly camp ground that's a little higher up the mountain. At the horse camp, it's more primitive with no showers and an enclosed port-a potty, but it's still a clean and beautiful wooded area. The camp store is pretty well stocked and they sell firewood. It's a bit expensive, but it saves you a trip down the mountain into town. I've stayed there three times and every other campground I've been to just doesn't seem to compare.

It seems pretty evenly divided between available rental spaces and spaces that are privately owned - many of the privately owned spaces are landscaped and hardscaped. In addition, there are cabins available to rent (this seems unusual to me, but perhaps normal for RV parks?) From my observations on the day we visited, the park was clean and very well maintained - grass and shrubs neatly trimmed. The park has good amenities, including swimming pools and a fitness center...there's also a fairly large clubhouse available to use for special events, but as we didn't go in, I can't speak to the facilities or condition of interior. River Vista is dog friendly, and has an off-leash space for the puppers to play. The location of the park is it's biggest asset - right in the north Georgia mountains so the scenery is beautiful. It's only a few minutes from Dillard, so it's convenient to some local shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. The family members we visited have stayed here multiple times and rate it as one of their favorite places to stay.

WiFi sucks, but the guy who took us to our sight went and got a loaner router from the office and helped hook it up. Office, clubhouse, pool area and facilities were all very nice and new. The pads are concrete are fairly level. The bad Or original site was someone's driveway. There was a tree overgrowing the driveway on the same side I had to back that made it a challenge to get into the sight. Once in the tree dropped crap all over our toad. The view from our right side window was the side of the building who's driveway we had parked in. My awning almost touched the building and there was very little room outside of our door. The WiFi here didn't work, nor did the cable connection for the tv. They did move us at our request to another open sight. So if you're planning on coming here you have to specifically ask if you're going to be in someone's driveway, because they won't offer that information and the site map doesn't show which lots have buildings on them. If you're looking for peace and quite, this is not the place for you. There is ongoing constructing between the heavy equipment clearing the property for more sites, or the constant banging of people repairing or having new permanent units worked on. Overpriced at $70.00 a day plus extra to be on the creek. We found a much nicer, quieter place in Hiawasee for 35.00 a night with riverfront sights at no extra cost. There's a reason for the 30 day cancellation notice. We tried to get out of our second week to go somewhere else, but they wouldn't allow it. Needless to say, we won't be back. The ugly There was nothing I would rate as ugly here. Just not the place for us ever again.

Located on the beautiful and noisy Cooper/Mulky Creek just an hour north of Dahlonega up Hwy 60 and then up some of the most beautiful and winding mountain roads that make you think you're never going to get there! By the time you turn on to Forest Service Rd 236 (a beautiful and peaceful dirt mountain road that climbs up through the pine and hardwood forests), you realize there is something amazing waiting for you. And there is. Cooper Creek Campground is like reaching a little slice of heaven. Fifteen campsites scatter through out the lush forest, and five of them sit right on the banks of Cooper/Mulky Creek. I advise getting there early during the week so you can get a creek side spot ... there is nothing like it! The creek is rocky and noisy and if you fish, the trout are plentiful! I walked the loop and all of the campsites were beautiful and within easy walking distance to the creek. As a solo hiker and camper, I chose spot #1 for the way the creek opened up and the trees opened up around my tent site to give me a clear view of a beautiful moon. I also liked the quiet solitude of this site ... few cars passed here since it's on the back loop. The campground hosts also live two spots up. As an avid (delirious almost) rock stacker, I fell in love with this creek. The rocks are amazing and perfect for stacking and balancing. It was so relaxing I stacked till after dark and was up just after sunrise stacking again! The pine cones in camp are plentiful, so I got a good pine smoke going and didn't have the first mosquito or black fly. I'm telling you ... this place is heaven! After dark a bunch of deer came through my camp and lapped at the creek for almost a half hour. Two fawns frolicked in the fern thickets next to my tent for a while and were bouncing around like puppies! With the light of the moon, I felt like I had a front row seat for natures big show that night! Also, there are synchronous fireflies here, which surprised me. Just after dark during the Summer Solstice, I thought it was kids playing with flashlights, but it was fireflies, all blinking in unison! It was amazing! I can't WAIT to go back! In fact, now that I'm home, I'm missing it. Cooper Creek is open year round and keep their gates open 24 hours a day. You won't get a phone signal here, so you may as well turn it off ... the solitude is amazing! Each site has a tent pad, grills, lantern pole and a picnic table. There are also bear bins that are an easy walk from each site for discarding trash. For hikers, you won't be disappointed. There are five interconnected trails that start in or near the camping area (Yellow Mountain Trail- 3.2 miles, Connector Trail- 0.4 miles, Mill Shoals Trail- 0.9 miles, Shope Gap Trail- 0.6 miles, and Cooper Creek Trail- 1.7). I found myself hiking in and out and exploring trail after trail. The abundance of trees at Cooper Creek keep the temperatures down, much cooler than up on the main road. I paid $10 a night for my site. There are faucets for drinking water and there are two vaults for bathrooms. There are no electric hook ups or dump stations. Primitive camping at it's finest! There are no reservations ... everything is first come, first serve. Have fun everyone!

I usually try to stay in "affiliated" campgrounds whenever possible because they have to maintain a certain level of professionalism and caring for their service. Other times I go on line and try to get reservations in places that show up well in their web sites. This is not always satisfying, as there are many web sites that are much nicer than their actual grounds. This has happened to me a few times as I'm sure it has happened to you if you spend any amount of time traveling, I can say without fear of contradiction that this campground is a "diamond in the rough." It is in a pretty spot and managed by a fellow who absolutely goes out of his way to ensure that this campground and the folks who stay here are more than happy that they came here. Rick is the manager and he is nothing short of OUTSTANDING in the way he does his job. To be perfectly honest, there are not enough stars for me to light up when it comes to rating this campground. If you are fortunate to find yourself rv-ing in this incredibly beautiful part of our country, then try to get a spot here. I am certain that you will be more than pleased.

My guide sends me instructions the night before to meet him 1:45 minutes away in the Nantahala Gorge. I now have to coordinate a different location because the East Fork is too far for him. So we settle on the Tuckaseegee River in Webster. The morning of the trip, he texts me and says his truck broke down and has to cancel the trip. I called Gordon who tells me he thinks he has another guide who can take me, and he'll call me one way or the other within 30-45 minutes. An hour later, I still don't hear from him but reach the guide who says he can meet a bit later. Gordon finally calls and gives me excuses as to why he didn't call me. But due to all the drama caused between coordinating with his guide the day before and the day of the trip, I was no longer in a happy frame of mind. So Gordon cancelled the trip. Staying in Highlands, Gordon was transparent that we might be required to drive ~45 min to the fishing location, which we agreed too. I was not contacted by our new guide until 5pm the day before the trip. We spoke briefly, and he mentioned we should commute to Cherokee to fish. We agreed to the hour and a half drive. Our guide was convinced an early start was not necessary. After arriving at the fishing spot, we noticed there were fishermen already there, and walked about a mile and a half from the vehicle down stream to a different location. After getting in the water, and after a couple nibbles, my wife finally landed a couple (2) trout within the first hour and a half. Moments later, we were abruptly disrupted by a river attendant throwing net after net full of trout over a 3 story bank into the rock bed below. Half the fish hit the water hard, the other half hit the rocks....Clearly stocking the river and cruelly traumatizing and killing fish, our guide went on to comment that this specific fishing spot he would not eat the fish out of, as the trout are farm raised. This was a major turn off for my wife and I, needless to say. We did not catch a fish the rest of the trip. 2 fish across 4 hours is unacceptable. Our guide was a great guy, and certainly helped us with some technique and tying the flys, but I will never return to this specific spot to fish, let alone pay any guide to bring me there. I called Gordon and explained the situation. He was unfazed and did not offer any remedy.
