They have a friendly staff that greeted me as soon as I walked in. What a great collection of instruments, with plenty of specialty percussion instruments. A customer was quietly jamming in their guitar room, which added some cool to the atmosphere. After walking in circles trying not to impulse buy, I walked out with a set of old-time spoons. On Tuesday I ordered a guitar through Reverb. Com. The vendor turned out to be Andy's Music. I received my guitar today. Two days to get a product from Alabama to Iowa. I was thrilled as we are heading out of town tomorrow morning. They deserve to be recognized for a job well done. I highly recommend checking them out, regardless of where you are in the country. I couldn't find my guitar here and within two days I'm practicing on my brand new Yamaha FS 800. The bundle price was the same as I would have paid for the guitar alone at Des Moines' Guitar center. Last time we went here we wanted to look around at the keyboards and try them out. However the staff literally told us we weren't allowed to play with them and the guy shut off the keyboard and closed it on me when I was playing. So rude staff and what's the point of having display instruments. I just went to guitar center instead. read more

A couple of months ago, I bought an Ibanez Jem Jr. I got it at a low price with a gig bag. The guitar arrived without any damage. There were no flaws of any sort cosmetically. In 2012 I purchased my first keyboard online. Lindsey was the person that helped answer my questions and gave me advice. I ordered a 66 key Yamaha. When it arrived it was damaged. I wanted to up grade to a 71 key and Lindsey was so helpful in processing the return, arranging shipment of the new model...and even gave me a discount on the new one due to the damage to the first keyboard. Fast Forward: 2018 I have decided to upgrade to a digital piano so I turned to Andy's again, and Lindsey was there for me again. She listened to what I was looking for, the research I had done, and the two models I thinking about. Then, she sent me a side by side comparison chard for the two models. She agreed that I made the right choice based on what I was looking for and my goals. I have been pleased with my two purchases in 6 years. Terrible customer service! I will never bring my family back to this store. We were a potential customer who just wanted to let their child explore different instruments that he may have an interest in playing, but we were verbally reprimanded for letting our child touch the instruments. I do agree with you phantom r me and my daughter went in one day after being recommended to andy's in search for a clarinet for PPS school band. yes the staff was very informative but my daughter is skilled in playing numerous instruments it is her first time playing the clarinet and she wanted to try out the instrument so when she asked the staff ignored her. So while I continued to get more information on the clarinet my daughter broused the store because she had never been to andy's before she played some notes on the keys nothing was said. she then went to the drums and the staff emedietly yelled NO MAM WE DONT DO THAT HERE!!!!! THE ONLY REASON WHY SHE DID THAT IS BECAUSE WE GO TO THE GUITAR CENTER ANYWAY THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY, THERE NOT EXPENSIVE, AND YOU CAN USE THEIR INSTRUMENTS ANY TIME. andy's was offering us a new clarinet for $900+ but we went to the guitar center and ordered a clarinet by selmer and some reeds with a case cleaning kit all for a grand total of $435.59. we will not be going to andys for anything else. ANDY'S YOU GUYS NEED TO DO BETTER. Andy's is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their prices are usually the best in the area (and I always check first, because music stuff is all expensive...). I recently visited my Mother in Mobile, and drove past Andy's. I am always a sucker for a music store so I went back the next day to shop around. I was looking for a particular guitar that had been recommended to everyone listening to Tony P's Acoustic Letter. I was informed the store did not carry that particular guitar however, they showed me another guitar that was a step up from the one recommended. Usually when that happens you would expect it to be more expensive...it wasn't it was actually less money. I e-mailed Tony when I got back to my house in Tennessee and he said do not pass go an if you can buy that guitar "you are getting a great deal". Daniel was the salesman that helped me initially and a lovely young lady (from Internet sales), helped me complete the purchase. That was well over a month ago and just this weekend I received a thank you note from Andy's. Am I impressed? Yes it was the first time I've gotten a thank you note for buying a guitar. Andy's Music", simply awful service and a rip off. I purchased an expensive guitar (Ibanez Fireman) from their Amazon store, what a mistake. Andy's Music claimed the guitar which was refused and returned at the dispatch office was damage and opened. After dozens of emails, they tried to charge me $100 for shipping and claimed they didn't want to go through the hassle of putting in a claim with UPS. (the shipping was supposedly "free") and then charged me $26 for outgoing shipping and $26 for return shipping. They sent me one terrible photo of the guitar and 8 random pictures of broken boxes to try to imply damage from the dispatcher. Their carrier, UPS mistake cost me $52.00 and Andy's Music would not refund the shipping. I'll never purchase from Andy's Music again and you should be wary as well. I have purchased THOUSANDS of dollars of musical equipment from Amazon, and never had an issue until now...Andy's Music is a rip off... read more
