What a great little spot!! I had heard about the grand opening, with a new owner and wanted to show some local, small business love. We went on a Sunday afternoon and I was so happy to see they had a nice crowd of young and old, smaller and larger groups. Everyone seemed happy. The place a has a vintage feel with a retro car vibe. It brought back memories of the car hop waitresses from times gone by. The checkered floor and the eat at counter where you can watch the cook prepares your food is endearing. We sat at a booth and had fantastic service. Peggy was incredible. She was warm and friendly and treated us like we were at her home. She made suggestions and chatted us up for a while. Peggy really added to an already great experience. OK - the buns are the BEST!! I could eat just a plain bun and be happy. Luckily were ordered burgers, fries, onion rings and cheese curds. Actually might have just had the best strawberry shake I've ever had in my life today, no exaggeration. We ordered two large strawberry shakes and one french fry and there were enough french fries for the two of us to share easily and they were delicious. So not very expensive and a pretty large portion. Honestly, two large shakes and a large fry at McDonald's would have probably ended up costing us more for less food with poorer quality, so I'd outright recommend coming here over McDonald's if you want fries and a shake. I was really hungry for some French fries and seen on Andy's menu they had crinkle cuts so since it's right on my way home from work I called in an order of them , when I walked in to get them they said they were ready - I got home ( which is like a minute away ) opened the box and they looked like they were cooked in old oil and they were ice cold and nasty !!! I called and complained and they said someone would get back to me yet no one did ! I myself happen to be in the customer service business and if they can't even make a side correctly I' m glad I didnt get a whole meal I will suggest ANY WHERE ELSE BUT HERE TO EAT !!!! don't waste ur money or time I see why it's not open that much now lousy food !!!!! read more

Attempted to have lunch the Big Star drive-in in Kenosha, which just reopened for the season, but couldn't get a spot as it was jammed! We heard that Andy's reopened last month under new ownership so we headed there instead. We walked in to this very cute 50's style diner and immediately received a friendly greeting. The first dining room was filled, but the rear dining room was wide open. Service was extremely prompt, and eveyone working there was very friendly. We both got the philly cheese steak basket and root beer floats. Food tasted excellent and the portions were large. The root beer floats are amazing, and with bottomless root beer they can't be beat. Pricing is very affordable too. Very happy to see this iconic drive-in back in business, and I wish the new owners nothing but success! read more

My Niece worked here and the new owner screams at his employees and puts them down, not an atmosphere or ambiance I would subject anybody to and I will never step foot in that place since I was told the food is frozen and not what Andy's used to stand for, the new owner should be ashamed of himself for providing poor service, service isn't just serving food it's also about providing a nice atmosphere for people to be able to bring there family and have a nice time therefore although it pains me to leave a bad review a bad review is what you deserve. read more

I just wanted to post an update. A few months back Andy's got acquired by a new owner. Now I've been coming to Andy's for over 30 years now. Damn I'm getting old. Anyways, I was a bit hesitant about new owners taking over my old stomping grounds. I must say I'm impressed with the food. The pizza burger was my goto. Just happened today that the pizza burger was on special. I must say it did NOT disappoint. It was much better than the old one. I've been here 3 times and still haven't had a burger. Maybe next time. I did have the minestrone soup. Amazing! I will say that the food is a little slow to come out. You can order ahead of time though. The food is hot and fresh. So don't let the slow service distract you. The job market is hard right now hiring quality people and my waitress today, Francesca did a great job. If you cane here before, it's MUCH busier than it used to be. I'm hoping that they bring back the Wednesday night car shows! read more

Food is not like the "Old" Andy's. Burgers not as good. Chocolate milk shake was full of icy frozen bits. Why are they closing before their "posted" (Facebook) hours? The snow and sub-zero temp's have not even arrived in Kenosha AND ALREADY the city of Kenosha "is rolling up the sidewalks". Are there ANY "MOM & POP RESTAURANTS OPEN PAST 3PM in Kenosha ANYMORE??? Andy's is one of those places that knows what they do best, and they do it very well. This is no fancy place by any means, in fact, it's a little on the divey side. But, their food is why it's stayed open for 75 years. The carhops serving you, are long gone. But, the food and burgers haven't changed in all that time. You can taste the flavor in the burgers imparted from the well seasoned grill. Years of burgers and grilled onions giving your cheeseburger that flavor goodness. I've been to the three big drive ins a few times now since moving to the area a few months ago. I'm here to declare what I think is the winner, and that would be Andy's. Although a bit pricier than Big Star, the quality of the food made it worth it. Pricing is comparable to the Spot, but every item we got is better or comparable to the other drive thrus. The onion rings are hand battered and not frozen unlike the others, and you also get significantly more for the same price. I also got a ton of fries and they were super crispy and hot. Every time I've gone to Big Star this has not been the case. The burgers were comparable, my one critique is I wish the bun was a bit more steamed, but the pickles and onions were both great. Next time I wanna try the 1/4 lb cheeseburger or get a double smash. They also had by far the tastiest root beer, also homemade. And the chicken tenders were hot, crispy, and juicy. Got the ones from the Spot one time and they were pretty soggy and dry. Overall i think this place deserves to be busier than it is. Looking forward to trying more of the menu. read more

Prices are excellent for the food you get. Nobody can beat their rootbeer. Atmosphere is nostalgic, car themed (AMC, Chrysler; that used to be our town. And the town many wish it still was). Food is cooked to order, fresh, and relatively inexpensive. Don't be dissuaded from the lack of reviews (and 2 star reviewers that dilute the others, from 2011, and that speaks highly of the place minus saying his burger was malformed (wow it's almost like that happens when you do what's now called a "smash" patty)). This is the type of place that's worth the visit. Just like when everybody began to frequent indoor movie theaters and the drive in theatre died: now everybody wishes it was still around. It's ok for a cheap (ok, REALLY cheap) dinner. A hamburger is about $2.50! But make sure you ask for the extras, or they just give you a bun and patty. It was pretty greasy. I'm a bit of a health nut and I grimaced as I ate the hamburger and fries and pizza burger. It's not a place I'd take a date, unless you're very talkative and feel comfortable keeping your date's attention from the rather peculiar wall decorations. Today I thought I would finally try one of drive ins for lunch. The inside is also a sit down diner if you don't want to eat in the car. For some silly reason I thought they would be white castle size so I ordered two cheese burgers for $4.11 with tax. They were quarter pound burgers so I was only in the mood for one and took the one home. It's a simple cheese burger which was a soft bun,cheese,pickle,onion and ketchup which just happens is what I like for a simple cheese burger. The meat was oddly shaped and not pressed flat. All in all it was ok for what it is and yah I would go back. It's not a five star gourmet burger so I'm giving it two stars because it's a simple $2.00 cheese burger. Red robin has $10.00 burgers so if you what to feed the family on the cheap this place will do. Well I guess I will have to try the other two drive ins now to compare them. If you look at the yelp listing there is take out and I saw out door seating. The inside was all car/car show decor. This place is a hold out from a past time when this style of a restaurant was common. How many Townes in America still have the drive in theater and diner. Millions of people in this country will never experience this old way of life that Kenosha Wi still rocks to this day. Andy's is not just a drive-in, it's also a sit-down diner. One of the whiteboard specials was two hamburgers for $4, so that's what I ordered. Delicious! Excellent! These are classic 3 oz. skinny hamburger patties on a toasted white bun. I confirmed that the hamburgers are hand-formed daily, not frozen patties. For a classic white hamburger bun, this one was relatively substantial, not mushy and doughy like some. I like my burgers with lettuce, pickle and mayo. The lettuce leaves were large, cool and crisp, the dill pickle slices were generous. I was disappointed that their mayo is Kraft Miracle Whip style, which I dislike, not the Hellman's Mayonnaise style that I love. Their generic miracle whip was so unpleasant that I had to scrape it off. Summary, Andy's classic skinny hamburger is an excellent representative of that style. read more

The food is fine, good even, it's the service that is terrible. This is a place you go when you want to be treated poorly, it's like an S&M restaurant. It's a theater of scowls. They don't want you here, and they hate your money.
