I've been coming to Andy's Deli since I was in the second grade. I've always appreciated the Deli and the kind people who worked there. They have given me and my sister discounts since we were regulars. I have always appreciated the location, and I'm so glad to see that they have survived COVID. They had a great selection of candy and drinks then and they still do. I would appreciate it if they brought the Bellywashers back though I'm happy with their selection of gummies. I would also love it if they had Takis as a selection. I haven't been there in about a month so they might have that now. The Andy's on 80th & Columbus was the best, it's closing was a blow to the neighborhood. Their sister location on 74th & Broadway is a poor substitute. Stopped by here for breakfast pick-up with friends. The breakfast sandwiches were absolutely delicious! We got: 1) Turkey sausage, egg, & Muenster cheese croissant sandwich with tomato, avocado and hot sauce, 2) bacon, egg, & monetary Jack cheese with tomato and hot sauce croissant sandwich, 3) egg & Swiss cheese with avocado wheat bagel sandwich, a cappuccino and an iced coffee with hazelnut. These sandwiches did not disappoint! The cheese was nicely melted, all the food was warm, and the people at the counter were very friendly, which isn't always a given in upper west side. My wife was skeptical walking into this long hallway of a deli. She quickly changed her opinion. The staff were prompt and friendly. They took my kids' orders (12 yr and 8yr) with a smile given they completely disassembled the sandwiches of all the good stuff. The order was prepared incredibly quickly. The food was delicious. Stoped by today to check it out reminisce with the young owner. I ordered a BLT Turkey sandwich with Russian dressing. What a disappointmen, Nick and Chris would have thrown this sandwich away. I always seem to be surprised when they come so I started making specific instructions that I would only like my steak well done with American cheese and hot peppers. In a world where almost ever donut gets squashed, smeared and crushed into a greasy paper bag, that little Upper West Sidey gesture alone is worth two stars. The other star comes from the fact that the donuts are surprisingly competent, and big enough to justify their $1.25 price tag. I grew up in the area so every time I'm home i try to get a breakfast sandwich at this deli. The sandwiches used to be the quintessential greasy, cheesy, egg sandwiches gooey and warm with just the right amount of fat to cure a hangover. That's why usually it's 5 stars. Until today: Since it was really cold, I called ahead for my ham, egg, & cheese on a roll and picked it up about 7 mins later. I took it to go and ate it at home. I was REALLY disappointed to find a stale roll with barely any egg and unmelted american cheese. The ham was good but that's only 1/3 of the sandwich (if that). I've never ordered a sandwich ahead of time here so maybe that was part of the problem. The staff here is always really friendly and the food is usually good, so I'll give it another chance and only knock off one star. Based on its small size, one would not expect much out of this local corner deli. However, Andy's is much more than that. There are many different unique characteristics that separate Andy's from all other delis. First of all the large inventory. Many times, I come into Andy's deli asking for something like a trash bag or an uncommon snack, not expecting much. However, they always impress me with the amount of diverse food and non-food items they have. I truly do not know how it is possible to fit so many practical household items and different snacks in such a petite place. Next, the snappy service is incredible. I am in and out in no more than 5 minutes after ordering a hot sandwich. One would think that their sandwiches are already prepared, but no, they are quick, inexpensive and delicious. read more

For years, as a New Yorker who wanted breakfast before work, but was too: 1. Sleep Deprived or 2. Lazy to make it myself, Ive relied on Andy's for two eggs on a roll & a lrg coffe, milk, one sugar. My 'older lady' neighbors across the hall get all sorts of deliveries from Andys as well, even letting me know that during the hurricane Andys was still open if I needed food. But I also have to admit that Ive had great 'only in NY' things happen there as well; like a random dude forking over the extra quarter for MY coffee because I chose faux creamer that day instead of milk. Which pales in comparison to this: Random male stops in Andy's, looks at me & says: "You looked so familiar I thought you were me for a minute.......(stares some more).... but then I checked myself in time and I realized it wasnt true.'
