We've been using daycare and boarding services with Kevin (owner) at Andy's Boarding Place for our dog, Shinji, since early 2022. We were looking for a facility and caretaker that particularly screens each dog, maintains a controlled "home-like" environment with open play and was accommodating to dietary/health/general needs. The screening process was strict but with good foundations, our dog passed with flying colors, and it's nice knowing the rest of the boarding family has done the same. Funny enough, Shinji was so attached to Kevin that he chose him as his human pillow during his initial overnight trial and that's when I knew he found his new "buddy and happy place away from home". Now he recognizes the drive and arrives with cries and wags even months between visits. Shibas come with great quirks though, and it was a blessing that Kevin welcomed ours with no judgment. Shinji is very play-driven and uniquely has a silly preference for doodle and herding dogs, and there is no shortage of those among a diverse range of family dogs in Kevin's boarding family. Kevin operates independently and it amazes us how open he is with communication and concerns while caring for his boarding groups at the same time. We get many videos and texts while we are away, and we are always confident that our dog is in great hands. read more

Kevin truly cares about the dogs that he takes care of here and it shows in every step of his process. We were evaluating a new doggie daycare provider and came across Andy's Boarding Place. Upon contacting him, Kevin walked me through his thorough evaluation process to ensure that our dog would be a great fit for this place. He wanted to make sure our dog was comfortable as well as the other dogs that were already boarding there. Since our dog is super social, he had no issue with passing the eval and we were able to get him set up with daycare right away. You will do a 1/2 day of daycare first before you can start leaving your pooch here all day or doing a boarding session. Kevin's prices are very reasonable and he is very responsive via both text and email. We get plenty of pictures of our dog throughout the day and whenever we have a daycare/boarding need, we can just email him and he is very accommodating with our schedule and our needs. Kevin makes sure that our dog never gets any food that is not approved by us and will feed the dogs at scheduled times, separately. For boarding, the dogs get to cozy up directly on a human bed, which makes them feel like they are at home. read more

This has been an amazing find for me. I have a fairly active dog, Shuri, and was looking for a place that would meet her activity needs. Kevin has been absolutely wonderful in accommodating Shuri, he caters to her needs and makes sure she gets enough exercise. I have done long-term boarding for Shuri multiple times and have been stress-free. He takes her out on walks, makes sure every dog has healthy play sessions. He also takes care of dental hygiene. He sends enough updates through videos and photos, they are always a joy to see your dog enjoying. This is the next best place for your pet after home. read more

My dogs have loved going to Andy's and romping with the other pups on a weekly basis for several years. I was a bit nervous sending her to a new boarding place at first since she is quite sensitive and feels easily threatened when bigger dogs get too close without her permission. However, the rigorous initial screening process helps ensure all the dogs there understand respect and how to give other dogs space when they want it, which is highly appreciated for our little drama queen. We boarded our 2 year old dog, Buster, with Kevin late May for over a month while we were traveling overseas, and the experience was just wonderful! We felt so fortunate to have found Kevin knowing that Buster would be in great hands. Buster is a rescue, extremely shy of people and afraid of any changes. He will not take any treats or food if he gets anxious or afraid. Kevin advised us to start taking Buster around for daycare in the week leading up to the boarding, and he was so patient and loving with Buster that he had won Buster's trust and love by the time we needed to leave. With Kevin, you not only have a safe, clean, and fun environment for your dog, but you also have a genuine dog lover who cares deeply about the dogs' wellbeing. We love everything about Andy's Place and so does our fur-baby, Tesla! I found Andy's Boarding Place on Yelp back in October 2022, and our fur-baby, Tesla, has been a regular ever since and is treated like royalty! As stated on the Yelp page, Kevin requires all dogs pass a temperament evaluation prior to being a guest at Andy's Place. But once they "pass" the evaluation, they are considered family and are treated as such. At Andy's Place, the dogs roam freely and play all day, and when they need a power nap, they can choose to cuddle on a couch or a dog bed, the choice is theirs. Kevin is passionate about putting the dogs first and creating the loving environment that our fur-babies have at home. Kevin is certified in dog CPR, first aid, Pet Technology, and various canine training courses, so when you leave your fur-baby at Andy's Place, you know they are truly safe and in good hands. Tesla goes to daycare regularly so she can interact with all of the fur-friends she's made over the years, and we once left her with Uncle Kevin for 17 days while we enjoyed a vacation. We missed her like crazy while we were gone but we knew Tesla was in the best hands ever, and Kevin sent us videos daily of her playing with her friends, which put us at ease. My Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix, Riley, has boarded at Andy's multiples times and he had a great time every time. We are so fortunate to have found a home away from home in Andy's Boarding Place for Karat our cockapoo. Karat attends daycare once a week and whenever boarding is needed. Andy's Boarding place is the only place we'll trust to have Karat spend the nights. We know that Uncle Kevin loves him and all of the other furry friends very much. Dogs here are not in a kennel, they have many soft beds, sofa and comfortable spaces to choose from for playing and resting/sleeping. Uncle Kevin screens each dog very thoroughly and hence he'll only allow well-behaved and non-aggressive dogs. He monitors their play and ensures everyone plays together nicely. Karat is 22 lbs but he is confident to play with larger dogs. Kevin will also accommodate any feeding routines , and they eat separately in their own spaces. Hygiene is also important as Kevin spends 1+ hr each day for cleaning. One thing that makes Kevin stands out the most is the communication via text and videos. It's evident our dog is sooo happy at Uncle Kevin's. Whenever we say "daycare?" he wags his tail in excitement. As we wait outside the main door, he sits properly and then as soon as it opens, he sprints straight in without any hesitation. We cannot be more impressed with Andy's Boarding. We know for a fact this is very hard work (physically demanding and the barking can be soo much!) but Kevin's dedication and his love for them confirms for us there's really no other better place for Karat.... 10 stars if we could for Kevin and Andy's Boarding Place! read more

This is the only place I trust to care for my dog when I'm away from town. I did trials stats of a few other places but my dog came out terrified from those. Bottom line: If your dog is in the select group at Andy's, they will be loved and cared for like a dear family member as they play with their friends all day. This is not a kennel, it's a home away from home. We've been sending our lab there for over two years, both daycare and occasional boarding up to almost 2 weeks, and this review is long overdue. No kennels or cages here (unless they need private time for feeding). This is basically a big dog-proof living room where they hang out with the owner Kevin who treats every one of them like family. This is the only boarding place I've ever used (out of a dozen?) where our pup is super excited to go every time, AND she's super happy and content when we pick her up. Simply the best. Kevin and Deb are great. They do not treat this like a job, but a way of life. My dog is super excited when we pull up and cannot wait to go inside when I drop her off (which has not always been my experience when leaving my dog for day care). My dog plays all day and is exhausted when she comes home. They have a great set up with lots of open space for the dogs to play and run , and also have tons of doggy beds, and couches for the dos to rest on if they want ( mine plays the whole time usually! ) They communicate with you so well.
