Ryland and his team are a really great service for anything related to your dogs. We have used their team for boarding as well as training. The boarding experience was awesome as we felt like our dogs were taken care of and well cared for the entire time that we were away. We felt like they had enough stimulation as well, which is always something to worry about. We felt this way because we got constant pictures, videos, and updates on how they were doing. I have also used Ryland specifically with my anxious bulldog for training. My bulldog is deaf and also a rescue so there were many challenges when it came to training him. Ryland showed me different ways to mark his positive behavioral patterns and switch up the negative patterns in an effective way. He was super patient, gracious, and never made me feel like I was the bad owner or my dog was a bad dog. I couldn't recommend Ryland and his team more highly! I had to leave my 4 year old frenchie Riot with Ryland for 2 weeks, and he had the best time. Ryland knows how to handle dogs with different temperaments perfectly - Riot can sometimes be difficult when he's around bigger dogs, but after the 1st day and 1st pack walk with Ryland, Riot was already making friends. This guy and his group of dog caretakers are awful. We paid $1600 for one week of dog care for two pugs. When they returned, they both had kennel cough and my older pug (9M) was being pulled out of their transport van using a slip lead around his neck, causing him to jump over one foot down which he can't see- he is blind, and this was noted to Ry. This awful guy that brought me the pugs back to the meeting spot kept pulling him by his neck. They both had to go to the vet. One dog had a massive 3+ anaerobic ear infection. In particular when you have a rescue with behavioral issues and a lot energy, it takes a true "dog person" to understand, care, and tolerate - dare I say love - your crazy anxious pup. Ry's team, specifically Lex, does that and more. To be frank and balanced in my review I was initially skeptical. We had a rocky start with some communication mishaps and missed daycare that made me worried. I often had my pup picked up by different people, and that didn't help her anxiety. But then, things started to get sorted out. The guys started showing up the same time on her daycare days. Then Lex ended up being the one to reliably pick her up. Then they set up an online portal with great self-scheduling features and a thoughtful client relations manager. Now I take for granted that 2 days a week my sweet anxious girl will explode with excitement when Lex shows up on time or even early to take her on lovely pack walks where they take amazing group pictures. And she is dropped off at the same time, happy, tired, and living her best puppy life. I say all of this in the hopes of showing the story of RTPG's growth in the past 6 months alone. This is a group of dog-loving, gentle, kind people who care about your dog and are worth your trust. The logistics may be a little rocky in the beginning, but trust the process. There is nothing more promising than seeing improvement like this - it means everyone is motivated and cares, and that's the most important thing. PS. I was sold on Ry's after I saw the way a former RTPG employee returned my Kelly girl. He didn't know I was watching him, and as he walked her up my driveway, he knelt down, gave her a big hug and a kiss on the top of the head. * Please note, I accidentally posted the below review on my boyfriend's account in October (it was since removed). This experience is applicable to both of us, but I was the point of contact for the services. In September 2022, my boyfriend and I chose to use Ry the Pet Guy for 4 days of daycare for our dog, Jeff, when we went on vacation for a week. There are several reasons we won't be using this service again, and we hope that those reading this review will take our experience into consideration when choosing whether to use Ry's services. 1. I communicated with Ronny, Ry's assistant, when setting up daycare arrangements. While Ronny was generally friendly and communicative, there was a clear breakdown in communication. I pre-paid $240 for 4 days of daycare and sent detailed instructions stating that we were out of the country, providing my mother's phone number, and providing our garage code. I provided this information twice and got confirmation from Ronny that it was received. The first day of day care, they called my cell (instead of my moms) while I was out of the country, to tell me that they were waiting outside for Jeff. I had to remind them of the garage code and to communicate with my mother if anything went wrong. This happened again, where they called me asking for the garage code, which at this point, I had provided 3 or 4 times. 2. Most significantly, they forgot to pick up Jeff for two days. Again - this was pre-paid and confirmed several times. My mother came home after a day of work, assuming that Jeff had been taken to daycare. However, upon arriving at our house, she quickly realized he hadn't been picked up given how wild he was being and how much he had to go to the bathroom. Let me reiterate that Jeff was left home alone for 12 hours a day for 2 days. I contacted Ronny and asked whether Jeff was picked up the last 2 days, and Ronny confirmed that he wasn't. The response was that there was a miscommunication and they apologized. Needless to say, we were extremely upset at the lack of communication and disregard for our dog. That said, Ry refunded us for the 2 days that Jeff was not picked up and an additional day. While we appreciate the quick refund, reliability is paramount when it comes to our pets, and the situation that transpired just demonstrated the lack of professionalism and communication within the business. This is not to speak badly about the competence of the individual employees or the care that they provided for Jeff while he was at the facility, but only to the lack of communication within the company and lack of reliability. Hopefully pet owners will heed this warning before choosing Ry the Pet Guy. Also - just got the attached email today. read more

I honestly don't know what we would do without Ry & his team of caretakers. We were introduced by my husband's parents who used the dog day care as a way to tire out their high energy puppy. If you want to be laughed at and belittled by the owner when you are paying them for their service then work with Ry. I spoke with him at the end of the last year 2021 and he gave me quotes and said to reach out to him with my email and info- I did 3x and got no response. Then I wrote a review on yelp and Ronny (his new partner) reached out to me apologized said they were getting so busy they had to expand and said they would make it right and honor the prices he quoted me because they had raised their prices. So we tried the pack walks for one full week 3x total; Roberto was great and Ronny was very communicative then Ry came into the picture. He drops off my dog and then texts me that there's a minimum for walks which I already understood but there's an additional charge to hold spots when you don't do the walks like if you are on vacation for more than 8 days. I couldn't help but feel that he was trying to weed me out because I was paying $60 for walks when it's now $65. Mind you my friend whom I referred has used his service and never mentioned a fee of that kind even when they were on vacation for 10 days. I spoke with Ry on the phone and explained how I'm confused because what he was saying is inconsistent with what Ronny had said and he literally laughs at me, and in a very condescending way says I'm rude and that he doesn't need my business because they are so in demand. So quick to get angry and his customer service skills are non-existent. Just Wow! No thank you! If you want inconsistent service that is always focused on charging more money and unreliable go ahead and reach out. For the price you pay his customer service should be steller. It's not always about money - Ry may be good with dogs but he's definitely not a people person or a good businessman. read more

We just love Ry and all the folks who work for Ry, they are top notch, caring, responsible and provide good feedback on our dog and how she is doing. Our dog (just turned one) has been going to Ry's daycare and boarding since she was a few months old - she absolutely Loves the Ry family - when the van comes to pick her up, she starts wagging her tale and running back and forth, I open the door when the van stops and she literally runs and jumps into the back. Tl;dr: Not recommended for dogs with anxiety, his method of training ,Cesar Millan inspired approach has been proven to not be effective and will backfire depending on the dog's anxiety. Background: We started using Ry for out 20+ week old PUPPY who was genetically predisposed to anxiety ( lagotto romagnolo , raised with puppy culture from a respected breeder, not a puppy mill. I have been a dog owner all my life- not my first pet). Our experience: We stuck with his program ( twice a week full day care) for ~6 months. The entire period, our pup would hide from them, get diahhrea from stress whenever they would come to pick her up. They were so rough with her ( a puppy mind you) at pick up , since they were on a schedule and didn't have time to use training treats and positive reinforcement that she needed. To make things worse, everytime a different man would pick her up and put her in their van. Everytime we brought this up with Ry and expressed concern at her stress levels, he would berate us about not being strong leaders to the puppy , he even forced us pay extra for a private lesson (not useful, he just traumatized our pup more during the lesson to make a point about exposing the dog to fears. He walked a fearful pup on a tight leash while dominating her , while dragging a loud garbage can with him- I was shocked). The experience with Ry left my dog with a permanent fear of men entering the house ( she is not scared of men in other settings ex. on walks, it isn't a lack of socializing), she is scared men will force her into a van and take her away. The correction: We luckily worked with a Certified behaviorist for many months after the Ry mistake, the UC Davis trained animal behaviorist used soley positive reinforcement (the right and only way to train any dog) and was able to undo most of the harm Ry had caused. I do not recommend Ry the pet guy. read more

I am so incredibly pleased with all aspects of my pup's time there since she was 5 months old. Her personal favorite human of all time is Gabe whom is in charge of her pack. He is incredibly timely for pickups and dropoffs, gives wonderful training advice when asked and my pup genuinely adores him - she quite literally hears his van coming and runs to the gate to meet him.
