However, you have to keep bleaching to keep the roots fresh and color grey hairs. My hair was dry and brassy, needed dimensions, deep conditioning, and toning. I needed a lowlight or reverse bayalage. I checked Groupons to save money but sometimes you're not getting their best work because it's cheaper and they're not getting as much money or sometimes they charge more for long hair etc. I even got turned away by one color expert called "Hair by Christopher" on Groupons who told me after looking at pictures of my hair, he responded "It's more work than I want to take on.I don't feel comfortable taking it on. Sorry." He claims he a color expert and had good reviews but he was not compassionate nor caring about my situation. Anyways, I checked yelp instead. I reached out to as many stylists I could that would respond right away, educate me, would answers my questions and had good reviews. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to be able to save my hair but I knew I needed lowlights and never had one plus I didn't want to lose all my highlights either. Vivian knew what I needed and what I wanted after communicating with her and sending pics etc. She wanted to work with me and gave me a better deal than Groupon and most stylists. She listened. She wanted to help me. I trusted my instincts and she made my hair look better than I imagined. You can see for yourself. She's efficient, unbelievable at multitasking, and is a hard worker. She doesn't waste your time and her attention is on your hair at all times. She saved me. I am ever so thankful for her. I would refer her to everyone. She doesn't overcharge. She helped save me from hundreds of dollars.

As usual, Kaison is very meticulous with his cuts. I requested additional layering to my shoulder-length hair and gave him a photo of a shaggy cut for inspo but I didn't want the full bangs. He ended up giving me what's called a "butterfly" cut, which framed my face very nicely. Costumer service was great too. He even dialed down the light when washing my hair because one of the lights was directly above the sink. The cut was $80 without tip. I was going to ask him to thin out my hair to make the layers pop out more but he read my mind and did it without me having to tell him. Still, I keep coming back every month because the quality is worth it. The studio is located inside Sola Salons at the Crossroads plaza, so it can be a little tricky to find if it's your first time. I've gone through several major hairstyle changes, and he does a great job with every one of them. His priority first and foremost is the clients' hair. Although his approach is your typical asian hairstylist, where they will tell you bluntly what would look best for your features, Travis has always respected what I wanted for my hair and what was in my comfort zone. When we first met, I floated the idea that I wanted to cut my hair short and I can tell he was excited to make it happen. After booking the dates, I kept changing my mind over the course of months. He was so patient with me and told me "i want to make sure you aren't upset [with your hair]". It was the confirmation I needed to not feel guilty for wasting so much of his time going back and forth on the idea. My first time siting in his chair, I was so nervous because my hair hadn't been cut in years and I was letting the split ends grow out. Honestly, I was convinced I ruined it after bleaching it several years prior. Travis assured me that my hair was healthy and offered a blowout treatment that left my hair feeling incredibly soft and silky. Travis is definitely a person you either vibe with or you don't, but you can tell he's genuinely appreciative of his clients, especially the returning ones. He will message me on occasion to check in on my hair and take into consideration the growth rate of my hair for my next appointment. Whenever I come in, I don't feel obligated to put on a happy face and he understands. Some days, he'll just put on some music and work in silence or some others, he'll just listen while I yap. He's also so generous, when I was just learning to take care of my hair. He got me a boar bristle brush, as well as small bottles of brand new shampoo and conditioner, to help with some oiliness issues that I had. I was so touched by how much he wanted to help me fix whatever issues I was having with my hair and this is a consideration he's carried throughout the time I've known him. I've gone from long hair to bangs to jellyfish cut to blonde to bob to pink/purple bob. Some of these cuts are pretty challenging to make look good, but he does it so well.
