Andrew did a really great job installing engineered hardwood floors in our entire house. He met with us a few times prior to hiring him to answer our MANY questions about the products, process and "WHAT IFS".
The scope was to remove carpeting on the entire 2nd floor, seal/prime the sub floors and install engineered wood and quarter round. He was to remove carpeting from the stairway, measure and prep for custom oak stairs then build, stain and install stairs himself.
The first floor was a huge job in itself. The entire first floor was covered in ceramic tile at varying heights. We wanted seamless wood floors to go over the tile since we were on a slab and there were other complications leading us to this choice. Andrew had to remove certain sections of tile and fill it in with concrete to get the whole floor level. He was able to reuse some of the trim and replace it where necessary. He had to adjust our garage and front doors to the slightly higher flooring.
Our home was in disarray during the project, but when Andrew left at the end of each day, our home was safe for the children and put back together the best he could. We tried to move furniture from room to room in the evenings, but when Andrew got farther along than planned during the day while we were at work, he was moving items himself to keep the work going. Everything was put back exactly as it was when he found it. He installed the furniture pads (that we provided) on all our furniture as he was rearranging and going along.
Andrew was hard working, went above and beyond and did everything he said he would do. We felt comfortable having him in our home and were so grateful we hired him for this job! read more
