Dr. Burbach's reviews were great except for one lady who thought he talked to much to his office staff but his work itself was fine. I decided to give him a try. I had no problem at all. Dr. Burbach is a very robust person and does love a good conversation but he kept me feeling entertained and included while I was in the chair. There's a real camaraderie in the office that I love. His hygenicists were cheerful, calm and seemed really informed. They told me that short of a cleaning, a few fillings and a root canal found on the X-rays I had no real need of the expensive deep cleanings my former dentist was advocating. The office staff gave me the overall cost which was thousands of dollars less than what my previous dentist wanted to charge me. Dr. Burbach did my root canal expertly and is working to help me keep my bridges rather than replace them. He worked with and saved what was there which I really appreciated. If I do eventually need to replace them. I am happy he'll be there to do it. He also fixed up a slight discoloration in one of my front teeth from an old bonding and did not charge me. I think he did it out of the goodness of his heart because he could see it was bothering me. The office is comfortable.. homey, with pretty views out the windows. I'd recommend Dr. Burbach to anyone but be prepared for a fun and funny dentist who really knows his stuff and can talk about anything under the sun. He does all procedures that can be done in the office himself and doesn't farm you out to other specialists. When I called after hours one day, I got Dr. Burbach's voice and a personal number where I could call him if I needed to after hours. Dr. Burbach gets my vote. Best dentist ever.. 5 Stars!!

The way he does business!,…read more Dentist: i came to this man as a visitor in Atascadero and he could've given me a simple temporary re-glue of a loosened cap.....but instead his head could only think of another $4,000$ or more project.....another cap, another client. I don't know if this is a good dentist because he's never working and he's never working because he doesn't have to with the charges that he puts on. For a little tiny reglue he was charging to begin with $400 and that's before he looked at the tooth! Then he told me I should go to my own dentist 6 hours away because that dentist 'is so good'.But I happen to be here in this money sucking ToWn for a visit. Still I was sitting waiting for a dentist to simply re-glue my tooth, clean it if it need be and i would have been quite grateful. But he is so concerned about legal issues that he sent me away without a peek! He being so intent to the possibilities of what might and could occur he din't inspect at all and looking for another possible $4,000 redo on my tooth. I wouldn't give this guy a nickel. I wouldn't go to this dentist because he's not a doctor and he has no feelings he knows I need a reglue and he won't, didn't even look to see what was the situation. he wouldn't do even after I put hours into waiting for him, getting my x-rays to him and And and. His fingers are too big for a dentist anyway. He's nothing more than a money grabber. I guess in short .....this man was charging me up the gazoo for a teeny little $20 glue without even looking at it! I swear this is true! Almost two years and $7500 later, I am now finished with INVISALIGN....caused by the tight crown pushing my teeth to the side such that one of my front teeth was slightly overlapping the other. Just Saying!!!!!! P.S. It says I live in Palm Desert.....haven't lived there in 5 years....otherwise, I would have gone to my wonderful dentist there. I now live on the Central Coast of California.

NOT a FAN! I have had a strange experience with this practice all around and personally think the…read morepublic needs to be aware of how they treat their clients. I just think maybe a wake up call is in order for the office. The front desk "grouches" Janelle and Casey have to be thee rudest receptionists I have ever encountered. They always sound up tight and bitchy whenever I call or come in. Casey actually told me "sorry but it is my time of the month, and I feel horrible so sorry I am so short with you" as I was looking to make an appointment on my way out from my cleaning. It was so strange and awkward. I have to say I never heard that one before from a receptionist. There is no excuse for bitchy and you probably should not tell people when your time of the month is that way when you read the yelp review you about you, you won't be embarrassed--just a little advice. So we have been seeing Dr. Chalker. He totally reminds me of the grouchy guy from despicable me movies. No personality, rude, and honestly I think he is a drill and fill, pull it and place a $10,000 implant kinda Dentist. I mean he is a cosmetic dentist. Not saying that he is not a regular dentist but he is used to perfection at all costs. I was seeing another Dentist for the past 6 years prior to Chalker. I was going every 6 months, getting regular cleanings and check ups then my insurance changed and Dr. Chalkers office was my new Dentist. Upon my first visit the Doc informed me I had 4 cavities and thousands of dollars of dental work that "couldn't wait". I needed two implants and they needed to know that day if I could do it for 10,000. I was like "why yes, let me get my pot of gold and hand it over to you." They said the same for the Husband. Of course we got second and third opinions of which those Drs. never once pointed out any of the work that Chalker said we both needed. That was very interesting to say the least. I feel like he is ripping me off by telling me new unnecessary procedures to get done. Every visit is at least $500.00 or an implant request of thousands. This is so strange to me. I have the same request for the husband. We since went to a new dentist and the new dentist said it looks like our previous dentist was VERY into replacing fillings with crowns for some reason. Finally last straw- Dr Chalker put the wrong crown on my Husbands tooth. He put the top tooth on the bottom tooth and once my Husband noticed it and told the Dr. the Doc said oh, huh okay well I will just shaved it down to fit. Uhhhhhhhh what!! The Hubs said that is it, I am done with the rude guy and horrible office girls. Find another dentist. Even though we paid for a perfectly normal tooth. I would think now that it was shaved down for 20 minutes it may have lost some stability. $500.00 for the crown on the wrong tooth but shaved down to size. NO JOKE and Dr. C was ok with that work. He never offered to put the right tooth in. This is acceptable for a Dentist who has been in business since "1975" I am shocked at his level of acceptable quality. Seriously people, go some where else. Why would you want to put up with bitchy front office clerks and a grouchy Dentist who wants to replace every filling with a crown? If I continue to go to this Dr. I will have ALL fake teeth. I have never had so many issues in a year then when I have gone to this Dentist. I have since gone to 2 Dentists for 2nd and 3rd opinions and they have not once mentioned any of the things Dr. Chalker has said I needed to fix this year. I dont understand why this place feels the need to be so rude to the clients who pay so much money for their procedures. Is it too hard to put on a happy face while you walk in the door to your job. Is it too much to ask to be honest and nice to people? Going to a Dentist can be traumatic for some and I would think they would know that and be a bit more understanding. Leave your worries at the door, try and find your inner integrity and or pretend you enjoy your job so clients won't feel like they never want to go back.
