The way he does business!, Dentist: i came to this man as a visitor in Atascadero and he could've given me a simple temporary re-glue of a loosened cap.....but instead his head could only think of another $4,000$ or more project.....another cap, another client. I don't know if this is a good dentist because he's never working and he's never working because he doesn't have to with the charges that he puts on. For a little tiny reglue he was charging to begin with $400 and that's before he looked at the tooth! Then he told me I should go to my own dentist 6 hours away because that dentist 'is so good'.But I happen to be here in this money sucking ToWn for a visit. Still I was sitting waiting for a dentist to simply re-glue my tooth, clean it if it need be and i would have been quite grateful. But he is so concerned about legal issues that he sent me away without a peek! He being so intent to the possibilities of what might and could occur he din't inspect at all and looking for another possible $4,000 redo on my tooth. I wouldn't give this guy a nickel. I wouldn't go to this dentist because he's not a doctor and he has no feelings he knows I need a reglue and he won't, didn't even look to see what was the situation. he wouldn't do even after I put hours into waiting for him, getting my x-rays to him and And and. His fingers are too big for a dentist anyway. He's nothing more than a money grabber. I guess in short .....this man was charging me up the gazoo for a teeny little $20 glue without even looking at it! It was just ridiculous I was waiting for him to bring me into his office so he could see what the heck the. Situation was...to properly assass the situation.....but instead ...he just keeps schoomosing. I have had the very good fortune of finding Dr. Kim to be my dentist, after my recent move to the area. And I was spoiled, because my LA dentist is the best. Dr. Kim? Well, he is all that and more! Dr Kim wanted to charge me $500 to glue a bridge that came out that he put in about a year prior. There was an argument in the office and he reduced the charge but I paid a lot. In approx a year I had to have the whole bridge removed and one of the teeth removed by another dentist. He lost a customer that day who had spent a lot of money in his office. Dr. Kim relieved me from severe pain by first identifying the problem, and then finding the solution. I first went to my physician for severe ear and jaw pain. He referred me to a Neurologist who said there was nothing wrong with my ear. She recommended seeing a dentist. This is when I first met Dr. Kim who had just purchased the practice of my former dentist. He took x-rays and said the pain was caused by TMJ. He explained the problem and the solution. He took measurements and ordered a "Hard Night Guard Appliance". After wearing it for 3 nights the pain disappeared. Dr. Kim was thorough in his examination and follow-up. What I love most about Dr. Kim is how he really makes the effort to make you feel like you are his friend, and he wants to treat you as such. Every client he sits down with and hears about their experience with dentists and talks about how he can help you get the best teeth ever. My experience was phenomenal because my teeth had a particular sensitivity when he was performing a filling in my teeth, and so I actually had to come back in several different visits for him to adjust it and get it so I could eat hot or cold food whenever I wanted. He was always so kind and understanding, and never charged me for the 4-5 additional visits I needed to make it right. He even gave me a Starbucks gift card! If you are looking for a dentist in the Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena area, Dr. Kim offers fair prices, a kind spirit, a professional attitude, and a very clean atmosphere. Dr kim is a horrible want to be doctor he is very un proffesional he call both my wife and i names teld us we were drug seekeers. I would like to give him 5 stars as he was a great Dr, the staff was amazing, and he could be very professional, however when they closed their office at Verdugo, in Glendale we couldn't get our family records from them, so we had to start all the process again. We called them, send them emails but no answer. (Also their bills were expensive, 3 times more than a normal dentistry, I though it was worth for the service I was getting) We got a letter from them mentioning us they were closing and I was with them for few months, I wasn't very happy as new patient would have been good to know that they were planning to close so I would have been looking fro other Dr. read more

Dr Kim is a 5-STAR dentist! He's very good, very gentle, and a genuinely nice person. He retired a while back, but now is back in practice. My only complaint is that since he renewed his practice, he doesn't take my insurance. The complaint part is that I didn't know about his not taking my insurance until more than halfway through my appointment. I'm sure it was kind of an accident, (I didn't ask and they didn't think to mention it...), but, I went from my regular copay to a bill that was almost $100. Yikes! Oh, well, I'm just sorry that I have to find a dental office that takes my insurance. read more

I was looking for a new dentist as I recently moved to the area. I was really impressed by Dr. Kim's "chairside manor" and I quickly got the impression I wasn't there just to make his boat payment. Buyer beware. Dr. Kim previously owned this practice and left it after selling it. No notice to patients. Up and gone. Apparently the new buyer didn't choose to continue to operate and allowed it to return to Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim issues a letter in November/December of 2014 asking his patients to return. The letter is all fluff and feathers. Upon return, we discover that he has a very limited staff and is essentially running the office on a limited basis until his situation improves. After moving my entire family back over to him, he discloses that he will not be taking our insurance (previously had). Now in the process of moving everyone back to previous dentist. read more

Wow i am just shocked on how unprofessional this place is after i left a review i got a 27 min phone call from an unknown woman i believe was the receptionist and scolded me about my review. She was upset at me because they are understaffed dr kim should hire more employees and not turn it and make it the paying patients fault. When i called the emergency number i was given dr kim was upset about me calling him on his personal call. I tried to explain my situation and he would not hear it as the tylenol he prescribed did nothing to the excruciating pain i was in. He wanted me to just throw money around instead of prescriving something proven to work as all i wanted was a little rest. I was running on 2 hours sleep in 3 days but he didnt much care. This dentist and his staff use a lot of shady tactics. This dentist does not know how to do a proper root canal and a crown. The dental hygienist also has a habit of telling you that need multiple visit for cleaning when you only need one session. read more
