Andrew Davis is a gem of a shop that I had no idea even existed in Bloomington. In a town full of used and vintage clothing shops I thought most new clothing stores were limited to a few downtown shops I had never been in to, and department stores. Andrew Davis is definitely upscale and have the prices to prove it. My recent visit was my first time in, and they seemed to treat me as well as the guy in front of me that dropped significantly more money in the store. They have some pretty high end fashion, and it looks great. They also have accessories and some shaving products, which is why I went in. I was referred there by The Briar and the Burley, another excellent downtown shop. Having run out of my favorite shaving cream, I have been desperate to find something almost as good. The sales person I talked to was very friendly, and took the time to talk to me about their products and pointed me to the Jack Black line, which was somewhat similar to what I had been using. I have been thrilled! (Hint - guys, dump those multi blade toys, and get back to real shaving... a nice double edge razor, bristle brush, and good shaving cream are fantastic!) If I had the money to spend, I would find a way to spend it in here. Awesome shop all around. read more

I really like this store until they sold cufflinks with a sticker that clearly said sterling silver. They were fairly expensive, several hundred dollars, and so I thought I was getting quality. Well the shaft broke within a few wears and the jeweler I took it to for repair laughed and said they were only silver plated, not actual sterling silver. When I went into the shop to see what was up with that, the manager laughed and said I couldn't expect sterling silver for "only" $275 dollars. When I pointed out I expected to get what the cufflinks advertised themselves as, he said he could see how that was misleading but did nothing to rectify the situation, he didn't even offer to pay for the repair of the cufflinks. I was very turned off and have not returned, despite the fact I had spent several thousand dollars throughout the past few years. No Thanks. read more

Visited Andrew Davis for the second and final time today. I went in sometime last year and to have some dress pants hemmed and they did a great job; very polite and professional, explained the whole process to me, and gave me a very reasonable price. However, I went in today to have another pair of dress pants hemmed and to see if they could "help me out" (my exact words to the gentleman that greeted me) with a hole in the back of some AE chino pants. As I was putting on my dress pants, the younger gentleman that greeted me asked his supervisor/manager about the chinos. I overheard the manager say that they are "not that kind of store" and if I was going to treat them like some "cut-rate sewing shop" (not his exact words, but something to that extent), that he "doesn't want that [kind of business] in the store." I decided to put my street clothes back on, exit the dressing room, explain to the manager that I wished to take my business elsewhere, and do exactly that. The manager l, instead of simply apologizing, attempted to defend himself and say "that's not what I meant." Bottom line (tl;dr): I understand that Andrew Davis might not be willing to accept a job for clothing I didn't buy from them, but I would have greatly appreciated A) a recommendation for a reputable alteration shop, and B) to be politely treated like a customer. I am very disappointed, as my first experience here was outstanding and I am fully supportive of supporting local businesses, but unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

After going to the standard "Mens Warehouse" stores to look at wedding tuxes we were dismayed that everything there seemed generic and almost cheap. I reached out to Andrew Davis and was thrilled to learn they do weddings! They worked with us to select exactly what we were looking for and were wonderful to work with. The service was exceptional- to the point that they are picking up our tuxes from the various hotels so that our guys didn't have to drop them off before trying to catch flights out of town. I can't say enough good things about Andrew Davis Clothiers! My husband and I were in Bloomington in February for my son's parent weekend. My son needed a new suit for some upcoming family and school events. We walked in without an appointment and were treated excellent by the staff. My son ended up having a custom suit made. The staff was extremely helpful with the choices we had to make. When the suit arrived a month later my son had a great experience picking it up, and was also helped with new shoes and other accessories. Macey had everything shipped home to PA for an event our family had so my son didn't have to travel on the plane with his new clothes. I was kept updated with the tracking and it arrived when promised. The clothes are beautiful and my son looked so handsome and felt great in his new suit. I can't wait to come back to the store again when we are out there visiting. Thank you ADC for a great experience shopping at your store. The best place to shop for men's clothing in Bloomington! They have a ton of different selections and I'm so happy to have them help me for my wedding. Earlier this year I went there in search of suits for myself and the groomsmen party. John answered all of my questions/concerns and gave a lot of tips. After we made our selections he would stay in touch with me in the following months prior to my wedding and keep me posted of the order status. He was very responsible, patient and so helpful. He would also share his personal opinions and experiences when it came to a point I couldn't decide on specific details. My wedding was on a Sunday when John was not available in store, but it was Richie who helped us when we picked up the suits on Friday, and told us to stop by if there's any last minute help needed on that Saturday. My wedding went great. I would highly recommend Andrew Davis to anyone that needs formal wear. John, Richie, Alex... all of their staff were friendly and helpful! read more
