I didn't have insurance, but it didn't seem to cost too much money to go there. When everything was all said and done, my bill was $880. For comparison, my one trip to the ER cost me $1,200 for basically an x-ray and a soft splint to hold me over. At Frenchtown Orthopedics, I had a dozen x-rays, two casts, and several visitations. Every time I went there, I was in and out in less than an hour. Melonakos recommended I get surgery on my foot since it was broken pretty bad and wasn't healing as fast, but I couldn't afford it. It took a long time for it to heal and be pain-free, but there was nothing I could do about it. With the $880 price tag when I was done, they gave me very reasonable repayment options: pretty much pay what I can within a reasonable time. They didn't add late fees or hound me to make absurd payments. I paid it off within a year. A few years later, I broke my toes and needed to see a foot specialist, but unfortunately, I didn't live in the area at the time.

Even returned my calls in up to 24-hours. I really like this location. Sense of humor front-desk staff, insiders joke!! BUT my fav of all, I'll call him 'Mr. B.' Gave me the fist bump, 'you got this if you put in the work!' Made my 'out-of-body' experiences bearable. Encouraging and down to earth. Don't tell him, I said so... Results and progress have been rewarding. Waaay ahead of schedule...A few tips when calling to get refills, leave a detail message and catch that response timing can be up to 72-hours. If non-emergency! This place is not near much! But a nice facility, equipped to scan all those injuries! Great team of white jackets and medical staff!!

Being naive about back surgeries we thought my husband was getting the best care he could. After the 2nd surgery failed miserably a friend suggested that we see Dr. Nicholas Shroeder at OSOC. Within minutes of meeting with us he explained clearly why the first two surgeries had failed. By this point my husband is in constant pain and can no longer stand up straight. Dr. Shroeder explained what he felt the best course of action was going to be for Tom's situation. Dr. Shroeder had the new pieces needed for Tom's back made specifically for him in France. The previous neurosurgeon had just grabbed any rods and screws within reach. That was what kept Tom from standing upright. The picture on the right shows the neurosurgeon placed straight rods in his back. Losing the natural curve is what kept him from ever standing straight and in excruciating pain. The picture on the left is what was needed to give Tom the ability to walk and have a good quality of life again. This shows the difference between an excellent surgeon and one who should never be allowed to practice medicine again. The day of the surgery was a very long one. Dr Shroeder performed the 14 hour surgery to correct the neurosurgeon's mess. He actually had to rebuild Tom's back vertebrae by vertebrae. There were a few appointments before the surgery and a few during the next year. It is a 3 hour drive each way for appointments/surgery. Both my husband and I feel that the drive back and forth saved his life. I do not say that lightly. It's been 6 years since his surgery at OSOC and we are so grateful to Dr. Shroeder and his wonderful staff, especially Liz. Their knowledge, patience, compassion and kindness is so appreciated.

He did my full right knee replacement 8 years ago and a full left knee replacement almost one year ago. Both surgeries were a great sucess with a speedy recovery. Dr. Kassab and his team are on top of the latest science and technology. They have their own Physical Therapist who are wonderful to work with, so friendly, encouraging, and knowledgeable. You can have the best surgeons but if the staff can't do their jobs, it doesn't matter. She has been there for four months and the issues continue and it is getting worse. It takes weeks for her to do her job, then you can schedule,, meanwhile Dr Shaia has open slots. Patients are needlessly suffering. This is ridiculous behavior from a doctor's office. This is not an insurance problem. It is a TISH problem.

A broken bone and casting are very scary things to deal with when you're seven-years-old, but everyone explained very patiently what they were doing to help my son, and he calmed down and felt better. When he wasn't so stressed out, the healing could begin. Everyone from the woman on the phone making our appointment, to the assistants who got us situated in rooms, to the x-ray techs who took new pictures of the break each time, to those lucky souls who got to cut off the old casts (the loudest part, and my son's least favorite) were excellent. While we hope never to need them again, this would be our first call if we were dealing with a similar emergency again.
