I came to Kasai after growing my hair for the past 3 or so years…read more I came in a bit nervous since it's been a while since I cut my hair, but Kasai and his team were very kind and welcoming. Having Asian hair, I've had some bad cuts with previous stylists. I was a bit indecisive about what style I wanted so I showed him a few pictures of what I wanted for my hair, and Kasai was able to adjust the hairstyle to fit my face more. Kasai and his team work swiftly and precisely, and I was very happy with the result. The service is worth the price, and I definitely will be back for my future cuts.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it…read more Several years ago, a friend purchased me a gift card to Kasai Salon. Shortly after receiving it, I became seriously ill and lost all of my hair. After years of treatment, my hair finally grew back, and last week I was finally ready to get a haircut. Before my appointment, I told Kasai that I had a gift card. When they attempted to process it, I was told it had "expired" and that they would not honor it. This was not a promotional certificate--it was a gift card that had been purchased for full value. I was told I would have to pay for my haircut. Kasai offered a "discount" if I paid by cash or Zelle, reducing the price from $159 to $140. I paid $100 in cash and $60 by Zelle and kept the unused gift card. Today I called simply to thank him for the haircut and to explain that I would speak with the friend who purchased the gift card. I also mentioned that my understanding is that California law does not allow purchased gift cards to expire. At no point did I mention legal action or threaten to sue. His attitude changed immediately. He became defensive, rude, and told me that if I wanted to pursue legal action, I should go ahead. Again, I had never mentioned anything about lawyers or lawsuits--I was simply trying to resolve the issue respectfully. What disappointed me most was not even the money. It was the way I was treated as a customer. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the situation, I was met with hostility and dismissed. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a gift card from this business. If the recipient cannot use it for any reason for a period of time, you may be told it has "expired" and refused service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business, and I will be filing a complaint with the appropriate consumer protection agencies.

I haven't reviewed this place?!…read more I went here after stepping into a couple other local Japanese straightening places all recommended by the South Bay moms group (bc they're the best) and many recommended Sho. Hands down they had the best price and most of the moms raved about it anyway. This place is what I wanted. No flash, just a hole in the wall no frills place where good work would be the standard. Miki did my hair back in March and 2.5 hours later my hair was perfection. As usual I asked for 0.5" to the root to be untouched so my hair wouldn't be super flat after and it was just now I needed it. My hair was about 2/3 down my back and miki meticulously but efficiently worked her magic. She was so darn sweet, too. We moved to Orange County from Redondo, so add this as another thing I'll miss big time from the South Bay! I've gotten my hair Japanese straightened since 2004. This place has hands down done the best job. I didn't end up with fried frazzled ends in random spots like I have in the past and my hair was even processed balayage! Thank you Miki! You are awesome! When I retouch mine I'm coming back. Fo Sho. Don't question coming here. It's the right choice.

The salon itself has such a nice atmosphere, with complementary coffee, tea, and water available for you while you wait. There's a comfy couch and a TV to watch if you're into that, or there are a ton of chairs to hang out in and mess around on your phone if that's more your speed (plus, they have a phone charging station available too). Everyone I've encountered there is super friendly and I always feel really at home, which I feel isn't something you'd normally say about a hair salon.

Absolutely LOVE my son's perm!…read more I brought my 12-year-old son to Jon at IRO Hair for his very first perm, and we could not be happier with the results! From the moment we met Jon, I felt completely comfortable putting my son's hair in his hands. He really took the time to understand the look we were going for and knew exactly how to make it work with my son's hair. The before and after says it all! The difference is incredible. His curls came out so natural, defined, and full of texture, while still looking age-appropriate. Jon did such an amazing job creating a style that fits my son perfectly. I was honestly a little nervous about getting his hair permed for the first time, especially because I wanted to make sure his hair stayed healthy, but Jon was so knowledgeable and careful throughout the entire process. He clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows! Jon, thank you so much for making his first perm such a great experience! You absolutely nailed it! We will definitely be coming back to IRO Hair. I highly recommend Jon to anyone looking for an amazing stylist, especially for teens/young guys wanting a great perm!

I've been coming to Deborah since 1999, and I honestly didn't even realize she had a Yelp page…read moreuntil now! She absolutely deserves this review. For more than 25 years, Deborah has been incredibly consistent. She always makes my hair look beautiful, but more importantly, she has always helped me keep it healthy. She has been through ALL my hair eras Blonde, brown, dark brown, almost black, and everything in between. One of my favorite looks was when she did my light brown hair with highlights. I would constantly get stopped by people asking where I got my hair done. That's actually how so many of my friends and colleagues ended up going to Deborah too, and many of them still go to her today. She is extremely talented with color, cuts, and beautiful extensions. I also have very curly hair, so having someone who truly knows how to cut curly hair without having you walk out looking like a mushroom is KEY! Deborah gets it. She also stays up to date on the latest products, techniques, and styles, which I really appreciate. After all these years, I can confidently say I trust her with my hair. If you're looking for an experienced and talented hairstylist in Lawndale or anywhere in the South Bay, I definitely recommend Deborah!

I was relocated Moved from the south bay area…read more I appreciated their service, after I moved out: Excellent but the owner loved my long hair, and find it difficult to do what i used to ask her, while using her service, which was to cut my hair more then just few inches: a bob sryle It was a compliment though. The owner enjoyed handling my type of hair. I wish her the best. She was so caring that when my appointment was early evening, she took the pain and insisted that she dropoed me home, as late as 9pm I thought I was grateful but, thinking about it now, I was not grateful enough but the owner had a professional till I moved out of the area.
