However, when the physician came in to consult on my mother's case, he walked in, grabbers her arm without any acknowledgment or greeting. He seemed oblivious to the fact that he was causing her a great deal of pain. Only after I made a point of introducing my mother to him did he bother to introduce himself. NOT OK. I appreciate that he is busy, but the lack of respect was very hurtful. The fact that she can't speak for herself doesn't in any way make her less worthy of respect and compassion.

I got an appointment immediately elsewhere and got a call back from Dr. B's assistant telling me I could get in that afternoon. I remember one year during my annual physical, she asked me how I was doing; I started babbling about how my headaches were better (or worse, I forget), and she stopped me and said, "no, tell me about your life: how is your business, your personal life?" Yeah, she's THAT doctor. The one that actually knows and cares about you. She keeps a picture of my son in my chart and always asks about him and shares with me how her family is. Her medical assistant, Carolyn, is also kind and helpful. She's great about getting prescriptions filled, or squeezing me or my husband in for an appointment if we're sick. I can't tell you how many times I've called in desperation as we were headed out of town and coming down with something - Carolyn has always helped us sort it out. The office is in Decatur; they have a full lab on the first floor so if Dr. Begovic orders labs, you just pop downstairs. Never a wait. Dr. B is truly one of the good ones!

I've been a patient at Intown Primary Care for several years now, and my experience has been…read moreconsistently excellent. Dr. Scott Parry has provided top-notch care that is responsive, thoughtful, and tailored to my needs--especially as a gay man. I've always felt seen and understood here in a way that's rare in healthcare. One thing I especially appreciate is how convenient and modern the care can be. There have been several instances where I've been able to message Dr. Parry through the patient portal--sometimes even with a photo of the issue--and he's promptly responded with treatment options or prescriptions, saving me a trip to the office. (Most recently, he quickly addressed a painful case of infected hair follicles from biking, and I was back to normal the next day.) I do think it helps that I'm a very active patient, coming in regularly for PrEP screening and annual physicals--about 4-5 times a year. That ongoing relationship has built trust and attentiveness that I really value. That said, I understand some of the concerns mentioned in other reviews. It can be hard to get through on the phone, and sometimes it's unclear when Dr. Parry is out of the office. They would benefit from adding another full-time nurse practitioner to help respond to portal messages more quickly. But for me, the overall quality of care far outweighs these occasional inconveniences. I highly recommend Dr. Parry and Intown Primary Care--especially for LGBTQ+ patients looking for affirming, informed healthcare.

After only two appointments and three visits (one visit was a blood work prequel to the following…read morephysical) I am confident that I have a new, reliable internist in Atlanta. Though the office is home to three medical doctors, I have only been seen by Dr. Michelle Evans and I have been very happy with her approach to working with me and with the ways that she has proposed to treat my recent bout of migraine headaches. Now, when it comes to scheduling appointments I am a little old-fashioned and I generally will do whatever I have to do to speak with a live person to set something up. However, this does not seem possible with Buckhead Internal Medicine and when it came time to schedule a physical and then to go in seeking medical treatment I have had to use their email-driven system of scheduling or to call the answering machine there and leave a detailed message regarding the nature of my request. I will admit, they make this system efficient and it works quickly and accurately; I need to get over my worn-out methods. They have always been super-prompt in responding to me and have worked with me very well to fit appointments into my somewhat hectic schedule. I really like Dr. Evans at BIM because she, as well as her assistants and colleagues, is very personable and thorough and neither over-treats or explores avenues that are just unlikely, expensive and unnecessary. In the past, numerous physicians have put me through extensive testing and a gauntlet of procedures that have provided nothing in the end. Today I was pleased to receive a shot and a small prescription that should nip what is most likely ailing me early on so that I can back in working order almost instantly. In addition, parking is always available, though for a fee, and the fact that they are located on the Piedmont Hospital campus allows them to provide quick services to patients that might not be so readily available were they located further away from such a large variety of medical service providers.

I've been able to also communicate directly with my physicians regarding any problems or concerns. The staff is very nice as well. I, of course, had received no notification of this change. After struggling through 30 minutes of Atlanta rush hour traffic, that was a infuriating thing to hear. The secretary said, "I must have missed your name when I was calling people." Needless to say, I won't be returning.
