There were many dog poop piles everywhere, even fresh ones left by the pit bulls. The pictures on yelp are deceiving. Because they show a sand surface. There was no sand to be seen. The surface was covered in weeds. It appeared to be mowed though since the weeds weren't tall. There are not any poop bags available on site. We bring poop bags with us wherever we go but apparently this is not true of all visitors to this park. There was one large trash bin at the entrance to the park. The separate trash container for dog poop was completely open on the bottom so could not be used for trash. Suggestion: at a minimum post signs about dog owners need to clean up poop.

We moved to another spot, and the dog came over to our dog again and began the same behavior, pushing her underwater. The dog owner came up to us saying that her dog plays that way and without apology, observed her dog aggressively biting our dog's neck, drowning her again; we got out of there. Cool dog park, unfortunate dog owner. I informed her that she can't have an aggressive dog there, and she couldn't believe it. I urge the dog park to implement some sort of authority to notify these people that they can't have their aggressive dogs there.

Plus with tons of other dogs there, he would work himself into a frenzy. However, there were countless water bowls and sprinklers for the dogs to stay cool and we ended up being there over an hour with no trouble at all! The dog owners were all very pleasant, and we didn't run across any 'unruly' animals anywhere. I will definitely be making this an annual event.

I appreciate that most other dog owners here are chill and that despite all the signs saying not to swim in the pond, the dogs are jumping in there all the time and the park rangers aren't hardcore about enforcement. In the summer, it's important to have a few places you can take your dog where they can still be active but keep cool. And Sheepfold and the surrounding Fells trails is a great place to explore off-leash with your (well-behaved) dogs. Reason I can't give it 5 stars is lack of facilities. No trash cans once past the parking lot. No port-a-potties or bathrooms. No fresh drinking water for dogs or humans. Lack of shade and seating areas in the main part Sheepfold - all there exists is one rickety picnic table under a tree where everyone huddles under when the sun is intense. I would gladly give a recurring monthly donation to the Fells Reservation to have these amenities added!

Great dog park that's not too far from the city. There's no in-place water source for the dogs, but plenty of people bring water and are happy to share. My pup always has a great time and can't wait to go back!

The only downfall that I've ever experienced is when people who own small dogs bring them into the large dog side (happened every time I've ever gone). Causes me massive stress/anxiety and also has caused my dog to get attacked by an overwhelmed corgi. Other than that we love going to this park! Definitely worth visiting.
