There were two pit bulls at the park when we arrived. The owner warned us they were unpredictable. We went in after she and her dogs left the park. There were many dog poop piles everywhere, even fresh ones left by the pit bulls. The pictures on yelp are deceiving. Because they show a sand surface. There was no sand to be seen. The surface was covered in weeds. It appeared to be mowed though since the weeds weren't tall. There are not any poop bags available on site. We bring poop bags with us wherever we go but apparently this is not true of all visitors to this park. There was one large trash bin at the entrance to the park. The separate trash container for dog poop was completely open on the bottom so could not be used for trash. Suggestion: at a minimum post signs about dog owners need to clean up poop. read more

It smells like crap here. It's right next to the septic tanks from Duck island. There's poop everywhere. It's not the worst place in the world but you can for sure find somewhere better read more

**** Address is wrong!!! I drove in circles trying to find this place. Just take a right off of the bridge from downtown and look for the giant looking candy canes on the right as the road splits. Awesome spot!!! For a dog park in Lowell I wasn't expecting much, but this was such a pleasant surprise! Clean for the most part, lots of seating available and large enough for lots of play. Great place to take your dog in Lowell. It's close to Saints Memorial Hospital, on First Avenue. Drive over the Bridge Street bridge coming from Lowell (toward Dracut), take a right at the lights, drive past CAP auto parts on your right and it's on the right. They have good rules: clean up after your dog (they have free bags), no dogs in heat are allowed, no overly aggressive dogs are allowed, dogs must be vaccinated, no smoking, no eating. read more

I love the Lowell Dog park and have been coming almost 4-5 times a week for two years. What is important to know about ANY dog park, is that once you enter the "animal kingdom", your dog becomes part of the "pack mentality" and Fluffy might be scared or Rover might get aggressive. Some dogs show behaviors in a dog park that they do not show at home. Be ready to work with your dog on correcting bad behavior if necessary. Also, sometimes it gets annoying at dog parks when you correct your dog differently than someone else or you think your way is better. And it's really annoying when someone else doesn't correct their dog at all. I see this all over the place at many different dog parks. The people that come here are very nice and very social! There is no running water so bring your own. There is free parking and no charge for the park. read more

There's a private parking lot for patrons of the dog park. ... and it's a pretty weird dog park to find! A few years ago, the first time I went, it took me three swings around the rotary to even FIND this place (and my family has lived in Centralville for over thirty years)! It's directly behind the auto store, but right by the ramp before you go up to Saints! The dog park is right next to these large "candy cane" pipes- VERY industrial. This dog park is a small, small fenced-in area where one can let (hopefully licensed and vaccinated) dogs roam freely. Also, I'm pretty sure the ground is made up of pebbles and rocks... not something I'd like my dog to play on. Oh, well. My dog needed to find friends and this seems to be the only way to meet others! I hope the parks & rec department can find a way to make the park friendlier and less industrial! I'm used to dog parks in central Connecticut. Pup and I were too spoiled by our decade stay in CT. :( read more

This park is full of needles, broken glass, broken dog toys and trash never mind all the piles of dog poop. This park is not maintained at all. The city of lowell could do more. read more

We were very surprised to find such a large and well-maintained dog park in Lowell - no offense to Lowell, but it is a small town and this caliber of dog park is rare to find in bigger places. Two large fenced areas for the big dogs (and small dogs that like to run with the big dogs!) and a smaller fenced area for small dogs. Poop bag stations throughout each area, covered seating, garbage cans. You need a code to open the gates. Well worth the yearly fee. read more

I give this place mercy stars for the mere fact that it is a dog park, but that's it. There are tons of poop here even right by the entrance. It's gravel not grass. They dk have benches, but there will be poop by the benches. One mutt putt dog bag station here, other star goes to the fact that the station is not empty. I guess if this is the only dog park in lowell, then ok...i was at the north chelmsford one but they only have a small section up due to renovation, so i came here. read more

I'll admit that this place was a bit hard to find. I turned and thought I was on an access road. The park was empty on a nice day. Small pebbles used for ground cover. My smallish dog didn't like it. Barely any shade. No water area. Weeds. Very small. Very secluded. Didn't feel safe while there alone. As I left I had to pray for an opening, up hill, into a busy, busy road. when I first went to look at the park without my dog there was a strange shoeless man drinking a beer. I brought my dog, so happy to finally have a place where my dog can run unleashed. Sadly the large rough stones made it uncomfortable for her to even walk. I had to grab cigarette butt after butt from her mouth as well as several pieces of broken dog toys laying around. We didn't like this dog park very much. It;s very close to a busy,busy highway. I have two little min pins that are curious and easily distracted, and one of them got out of the enclosure because one of several gates was open. First he headed for the roadway, and then down by the river. I was very relieved when he came back. Also, the yard is almost all gravel, and they could not walk easily on it. It was clean, and there was lots of parking. There were 3 or 4 separate "air locks" to contain dogs if they were misbehaving (that"s where there was an open gate) I won't go there again, mostly because of the proximity to a highly trafficked road. I appreciate the thought of creating it though. If it were sand then my dogs could have run around. read more

Sorry I thought this was a nice place until i got bit. Two dogs infront of me decided to roll into a fight and one got a hold of my calf and instead of the owners stopping them for the 3rd time they went at it they just said let them go! I'm done with that place! read more
