I am not a very good test taker so my friend recommended me to take the Y2 Academy. It was my summer into senior year so I was up for anything. Let me tell you it is not cheap. After prepping with them the whole summer I only received a 26 on my ACT. Not four points higher like they guarantee they claim. You get homework that is a full-length test. First of all, I thought the homework was useless you take it home and do it and don't over it in class if you do it's very briefly. I understand we need homework but maybe something like a worksheet with exercises or half a test homework would work better. What I learned from this class that is if you don't have a fundamental understanding on a specific topic they will not go over it. They just go over test questions and answers. In this regard, I believe you need to figure out your weak points in the specific areas such as Trigonometry in math on your own. They won't do that they will just give you test scores. Not worth the money. Try to prep yourself or get a cheaper tutoring service.

Teachers do an incredible job preparing students in standardized testing as well as college application and preparation. Personally, the teachers are the biggest influence from my time at Y2.

I went here for a focus group. The part of the building that I saw was pretty amazing. The…read morearchitecture was pretty amazing but, it's definitely easy to get lost. I am fairly great with directions and still had a hard time maneuvering inside of the building. I am going to assume that much of the areas have been renamed because most people called many of the same rooms different names; this only added to the confusion. However, the building is great -- it's in Harlem -- literally a few blocks away from 125th. It's clean -- I took away one star because of the behavior of one of the support staff members. I was there with my daughter, and the baby had to use the restroom room and she stopped us from going and when I asked where there was another restroom since she told me no, the baby couldn't use the one we were standing in front of: she literally ignored me as the baby was crying and saying she had to go to the potty. Anyone with children knows that terrible. We ended up having to go all the way down the stairs and all the way back around the building to a different part of the building to try to find a place to get for her to go to the bathroom. Very bad experience but brief

The teachers are very attentive, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment where students can thrive. It's a small school, they have limits and a lack of resources like a lack of sports. However, the school truly prioritizes every child's well-being, both academically and emotionally. My kids didn't learn drugs or substances. Never experienced violence. Teachers watched them and intervened for the kinds of provocative situations. We got enough for what we paid for. Overall, it was a good decision for our kids.

Do not expect to go to Iona for business and learn anything useful for a career. Now, most expensive private Colleges have premium dormitories. They force you to buy a campus meal plan and for what you pay it should be far better. There's a reason they force you to buy the meal plan and it's not "to foster an on-campus community."
