I currently have two students at AU, my daughter, who is a senior, and my son, who is a junior. Both my kids started at state schools and then transferred to AU. My daughter did two semesters at Coastal Carolina, and my son did three semesters at Western Carolina, before transferring. They are both very happy at AU and proud of the school they attend. They both run Cross Country, and Coach Eagle is a good man who has treated my kids wonderfully. My kids like their classes, their professors, the food in the cafeteria, and their housing, and have made wonderful friends there. I couldn't ask for more. This was stop #2 on our daughter's campus tour trip. We were greeted warmly at the Admissions office, which is an adorable old home, off the main road. The tour was very informative and we were taken through dorms and multiple buildings. Their student center is great and I personally was sold on the school after seeing the dining hall (so awesome). The campus is small and easy to get around. I love all the trees and just the general vibe on campus. Highly recommend a tour, if you're looking at colleges with your high school senior! read more

Beautiful college campus with scholarly feel and hometown charm! The students, staff and coaches all seem genuine and care deeply about preserving the integrity of the biblical based learning environment while helping students better grow and walk in confidence and pursue the passion God has laid on their hearts! The tour guides and admission staff did a fantastic job answering our questions and explaining basic information. I was impressed with whole well the campus grounds were maintained and appreciated that we didn't have to pay for parking to tour the school. Additionally, it was a nice touch having all the students names in a welcome board with individual name tags- and my boys especially loved the shirt they received at the end! Additionally, let's talk athletics! This d2 school is incredibly competitive and boasts a beautiful new track and almost completed state of the art football facility with over 1/2 million dollar in new equipment! The coaches for the two sports my boys are interested in took the time to sit with us and answer all of our questions once the tour was complete. It was a relaxed and obvious the coaches build close relationships to mentor and guide the athletes on this journey! read more

We toured Anderson recently with my youngest daughter and we're really impressed by the high standards they keep across the board. It's a whole vibe recognizing how much attention to detail goes into maintaining quality education options across numerous degree programs, the campus, the grounds, the classrooms, the sports facilities, the chapel, the technology center, the student center, the auditorium for performances as well as weekly movies, and last but definitely not least the lunchroom that includes daily Starbucks, Chic Fil A, and a variety of other options on the students meal plan. They really think of everything for their students and athletes! Currently they are building a football stadium that will launch the Trojan Football program in 2024. This will elevate an already vibrant campus where all the students and staff genuinely seem happy to be there. Many of the beautiful buildings have historic charm and history that they share with you while on the tour. Even the new facilities get faced with accent columns to maintain that classic touch. Surprisingly they also have a swimming pool for students to enjoy, just because. On top of all that, it's a college culture built around faith, helping students stay grounded, and growing students spiritually. Who could ask for a better structure to release our young adults into. Lastly campus security is a top priority and requires it's own staff. I think the only thing that could make this University more charming is seeing it in the summer time when all the trees and landscaping are in full bloom. Cody Martinez September 7, 2015 During my senior year of high school I was exploring the idea of going to College but I had no clue where I wanted to go. As a resident in the state of South Carolina, naturally I applied to both Clemson University and the University of South Carolina but I was exploring other options as well like Furman or one of the University of South Carolina's many satellite campuses. It wasn't until late into my senior year when I heard about Anderson University and their exercise science program which peaked my interest at the time. I was not sure what I wanted to do at the time I applied all I knew is that they gave a good bit of financial aid. This was important to me because cost was one of the biggest influences on where I would choose to go to college. I had no clue what their application deadline was at the time but I knew when I applied it would be last minute and that I needed to get over for a tour as soon as possible. Anderson was the final stop in my search of in state colleges and I had no clue what to expect because I had never heard anything about this school other than it being a Christian school which did not bother me. When I arrived on campus I was impressed with the condition of the grounds, nothing seemed out of place on that spring afternoon. One thing I was fond of immediately was the location because it was a far enough drive from Greenville to be away but close enough to go back without taking a substantial amount of time. I also liked the small campus size because everything felt so centralized. As a result of the campus being so small the tour would be between an hour to an hour and a half walking to every building and briefly discussing everything the campus had to offer. My tour guide this particular day was Myson Jones, a rising junior on the basketball team who was very outgoing and hospitable. He gave our tour a more personalized feel because he told stories about his freshman year and the things he recommended doing on campus as we progressed through the tour. He did a great job explaining the history of the campus and even the future plans to construct new buildings and athletic arenas to attract new students. I felt like after the tour with him I knew every building on campus and all of the clubs and group opportunities the campus offered. All I needed to do was move in and start classes. Towards the end of my tour some of the people in my group broke up by potential majors to further examine the buildings they would soon spend much of their time in. Myson led my group to the arts and sciences building on campus known as the Watkins Teaching Center and introduced us to some of our potential teachers because we were interested in the various programs that had interchangeable courses. The teachers were all so welcoming and encouraging on the tour at some points I wondered how genuine it was. I asked Myson if they were just acting for the tour and he assured me that one thing that separates Anderson from other colleges is the culture of the school. Anderson is a private Christian university where everything they do is for the glory of God and they encourage comradery and community because that is how we are called to live. Life, especially during the college years would be impossible for anyone if they did not have people to do it with and to help them out along the way. That idea of community is something that made my attendance at Anderson an easy choice out of high school and a tough choice transferring after my sophomore year. This tour showed me that I would not be a number at Anderson and that college is possible for a first generation college student. Everyone on that tour helped me to believe that I could go to this university and succeed in the rigorous exercise science curriculum and I know that in my heart this was the best school I could have gone to from high school. The tours of the university also highlighted the impact that potential students bring to the city of Anderson. Anderson is not a big university with an enrollment of around 3,000 but with every tour of the campus they attract more and more new students to the already large population. This rapid growth in class size and student participation on campus will present some growing pains but the board of directors along with the president have already come up with ways to prevent growing pains. Just recently they have decided to build a new student center, pool, and athletic fields to meet the growing need of students. This growth in student population is great for the town and local businesses as well because as the college grows so does the city. In summary I would highly recommend touring this wonderful Christian school provided they have curriculum that interests you. It was wonderful during my two years there and I couldn't imagine anyone having anything but good things to say especially after the current developments are complete. read more
