This place was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The portions were absurdly small, especially considering the outrageous prices. What makes it worse is the restaurant's bold attempt to imitate Spanish cuisine while completely ignoring -- or disrespecting -- the deep Puerto Rican-Spanish culinary heritage that actually exists here. It felt fake, forced, and frankly insulting.
To make matters worse, the restaurant consistently charged more than what was listed on the menu, which is unacceptable and borders on outright fraud. Several dishes arrived cold when they absolutely should have been hot -- the Pulpo à la Brasa being the most glaring example. Cold octopus at these prices is inexcusable.
This is not "elevated cuisine," it's smoke and mirrors. Extremely expensive, tiny portions, poor execution, and misleading pricing. A total fraud and easily one of the worst tourist traps I've encountered.
To finalize the evening the waiter miscalculated the tip on his favor when we split the ticket. It included the Puerto Rico 11.5% tax on the tip calculation - more fraud over the fraud.
A real shame for Puerto Rico. Places like this damage the island's reputation rather than celebrate it. Avoid at all costs. read more
