I've stayed at a number of premises in Victor Harbor over the years. Recently, I keep going back to Anchorage Seafront Hotel.
On my most recent trip, I stayed in one of their bare-bone offerings: an upstairs non-seafront single room. It may have had a spectacular view of the rooftop, but it was what was in the room that matters and made it such good value - $65 was a steal. The room was very clean, nicely presented and appointed, and had an ensuite. The water pressure to the shower was fantastic. The bed was a little on the hard side but you get that.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant at the back - at which I have eaten many times before - is worth visiting for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. The seating out the front is a great place to sip a glass of wine and admire the views of the bay.
Anchorage is the best accommodation in Victor Harbor, in my book. And arguably the best dining too. read more
