Beautiful place, with very nice owners. The breakfast was also excellent! Lots of horses, and great rooms.

Meadow Creek Lodge & Event Center

Meadow Creek Lodge & Event Center

As an older active couple we found MC a disappointment based on high ratings. Beautiful location…read moreand could be 4 or 5 star with some upkeep and a very good cleaning. We selected the separate cabin in the meadow for our two day stay. Initial appearance was exciting but once we occupied unit we found how lacking it was. It is billed as small and intimate but we found the place "just" dirty and tried to overlook it. Clean towels and sheets were provided. Screen door did not fit so bugs, gnats, flies and moths inside. Had a King bed but for us the mattress was too soft. Very low toilet and small shower. Hot tub in room puts off odor and cycles throughout the day - meaning it comes on 2-3 times at night in a very quiet setting. Local water tasted and smelled terrible...so bring bottled water (some provided). Two FOLDING chairs provided for deck which needs upkeep badly. When we arrived we had no clue where to go for check in. - which door? 9am breakfast is too late for us and was ok. Visiting with other guests always a plus. The Elk in the meadow was a real plus too.

My friends got married here in September, and it was a truly fantastic wedding. They rented out the…read morewhole bed and breakfast for a three-day weekend, had the wedding in the field on Saturday, and invited the bridal party and the out of town guests to stay in the rooms. The bride and groom had their own cabin in the meadow -- so romantic! What a charming place! My husband and I stayed in the Colorado Sun room, which had so many amenities: a kitchenette, private hot tub, double-sided fireplace, two-person shower, and even a sauna! The whole B&B had just a ton of history and character. The furnishings were all super comfortable, with a relaxed, rustic vibe. A few things needed some updating and fixing, though. There was no hot water from the kitchen sink of our room because the little under-sink water heater was broken. One of the baseboards had come lose in the bathroom and there was tons of mold on the drywall. The water up there is well water, and it was incredibly soft; hard to wash the shampoo out of your hair, and it tasted NASTY. Definitely consider bringing your own bottled drinking water if you're going to stay a few days. The breakfast part of the bed and breakfast was pretty good. Two of the staff came up each morning to cook and serve hearty potatoes, sausage, eggs, fruit salad, coffee, orange juice, etc. It wasn't particularly good, but it was nice to have a hot, served meal that wasn't pizza delivery. We ate breakfast outside, where the bees were a nuisance because they wanted all of our food. We had just a fantastic weekend up here! Definitely the best wedding I've ever been to. I would highly recommend Meadow Creek for events of all kinds, but especially if you want to rent out the whole place.

First impression was that it was an older…read morelodge, and had not been recently updated for at least 10 or 20 years due to the outdated-looking linens, dirty carpeting, and the "landlord special" type paint jobs and caulking. The room was fairly clean, however, we did find that there were spider webs in the bathroom (with live spiders), dead bugs smashed and stuck to the ceilings and window sills, and the carpet was stained and needed a good vacuuming as there was dirt and pieces of dried mud. The welcome sheets were very cleverly written (by Misty we found out) and were a nice bonus. The beds were a bit stiff, and not all that comfortable, but they were made, and there were plenty of fresh fluffy towels for us to use. We did move the couch in the room closer to the fireplace (I guess this is unheard of by the owner from their reply, I mean who'd think people could want to sit and be comfortable in front of the fire), as we bought some duraflame logs to use in the fire (we were given 1 (not two as the owner has assumed as they always "can't find" any (depends who you ask, Scott said they had none but then when the lady who cleans the rooms heard we wanted one she was somehow able to make one appear out of thin air*), and when we did move the couch we found they do not clean behind/under it, as we found someone's vape pen, and a hair pick. The owner's reply says it is "too difficult" to move the couch and clean in it after every guest's stay, which I find disturbing. This means that any dandruff, trash, or fluids they leave behind are just sitting there on the couch waiting for the next guess. Gross. The room had a small kitchenette, with a double hotplate to use as a stove. The provided dishes were all mostly cleaned spotless, and they had all the basic necessities if you were to cook. However, the faucet of the sink broke off once during use, and caused quite the mess. We were able to fix it and clean the water up and it was fine afterwards, it just needed to be screwed down properly. The grounds are wonderful, and they have many hanging potted flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders, so there are always a TON of hummingbirds flying to and from. They also have a pond that you can fish from, so long as it is only catch and release. The bad: Our heater went out once each night we stayed, sometime late and night, so we always woke up freezing cold. It was raining the entire time we stayed, so the temperatures dropped to the 40s at night. When we tried to call the office to get the heater fixed when we woke up, we found they don't have the office or phones staffed 24/7, and had to call the phone number provided to us about a million and a half times before a sleepy voice answered to help us out. *Edit: We're so sorry it was a big deal for the owner to have to wake up and get in the shower to come fix the heater that was supposed to have been working properly in the first place so we had a warm room to come back to when we were finished with work. Edit: Changed to 1/5 stars due to owner's response. They basically called us liars. Not the way to approach customer service. Instead of getting defensive maybe try to apologize for the issues we had, and ensure it doesn't happen to customers in the future. And yes, we did call them over and over again starting at 6am, as that is when we had to wake up and shower because we had to be at work by 7am, and our room was in the high 40s. Who'd have thought that when you get out of the shower you'd like to be warm, apparently a crazy concept for the lodge. I've also attached a screenshot of their "summer weather" during our stay. I'm sure most people won't find a 46 degree low anywhere near "tropic." Now when I come back to Bailey for business we will never return to the lodge. Good riddance.

You can get a reservation online from 3rd party site, or you can just call and make a reservation :) We opted to call and just get on the books that way. The prices were very fair. We were going to be late getting in so we called and we let them know and they gave us a key code to get into the room. It was very cute. Loved the style of the room. They had a mini fridge, a fire place that was not real but you could turn it on to get it heat, a tv, some dishes that you could use, a microwave. The beds were comfy. There are only maybe 6-7 rooms available and it is in a wonderful location. It was so close to many of the hikes we had planned on doing for the weekend. only a 5-10 minute drive to the hikes from the lodge. Not much in the tiny town of grant though for restaurants but that is okay. We brought a lot of food with us to sustain us through the weekend. The owners were great. The room was clean. Overall super happy with our stay! Will definitely be back in the future!

I pulled into a gas station and started to have a panic attack. This hotel looked really appealing, and honestly it was the first one I clicked on, so I immediately booked two queen bed room. Although I was a little confused about the contactless check in, the amenities were excellent, nice clean beds, several AC units, fans, heaters, a nice loveseat with a comfy chair facing the TV. I was also informed that it is local and family owned. This hotel was such a nice reprieve from the insanity of our drive. Absolutely, positively worth every cent. Definitely consider this over a corporate owned hotel. All that's left to say is, thank you!

Don't skip Cliff House if you're planning on a Red Rocks show. The location, amenities, staff and…read moreother offerings really added so much to my first time in Morrison. This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

Tip: Call to reserve late checkout at 1:30 for $30. First come first served. Otherwise checkout is at 11 AM. It was nice to enjoy coffee in the lodge after a late night concert. Worth it to take the shuttle (mini school bus with a couch and disco balls!) for $15/person to be dropped up at the top of Red Rocks - beats the long line walking up. $25/person pick up - approx 10 min walk but it's all downhill to the party bus and seemed way safer than all the taxi drivers in your face outside of the amphitheater. Brooks is awesome and takes care of you!! We stayed in the Rose Retreat again. It's a small room, but I love the big shower and mini fridge with Brita. The window air conditioning unit kept the place nice and cool with it being 95° outside. Private hot tub and robes in the closet. Breakfast is included. Order at check-in and enjoy the next morning. There is also fruit, bagels, coffee and tea, with alternative milk available. Bottomless mimosas available for a cost. We enjoyed a nice chess game with coffee after a delicious breakfast. Can't wait for the next visit!
