But, in hopes of saving *you* some stress, let me point you in the right direction for those days when you just want to light your car on fire. Woke up, noticed a tired was down to the rim, and realized I had absolutely no memory of how to change a tire. Conveniently, I also had no interest in leaning all over again especially I could just throw money at the problem to make it go away. Enter Halifax Towing. The dispatcher was helpful at pointing out the costs of service in advance and efficient in getting a car in my driveway within 15-20 minutes of calling in. I can only imagine how important that would be had I been waiting on the side of the road. Once arrived, my spare was on and pumped up with some air (he noticed it was also low) within about 10 minutes and I was able to pay the $50 plus tax with a credit card or cheque. Piece of cake. The best part, though, was that there was little to no judgement of the fact that I couldn't/wouldn't do this on my own. Once I'm opening up my wallet, I really don't need to be reminded of my limits..

We called Excel and were expecting them within a half hour. It was a little more than that when they arrived (15-20 minutes). That happens. The problem is that while we waited a second person found themselves locked out of their car. Each person was charged the full amount, despite the driver only made one call. I think that was a little unnecessary. We are not talking about a huge amount of time, so it's not an hourly rate. And there was certainly no difference in the distance the driver travelled. He got out of his vehicle once! The distance between the two cars was barely negligible. On top of all that, our staff member returned to say that he had to put up with a lecture on his life and why he left his car without his keys in his hand. That was uncalled for. And all the other customers using our parking lot at that time, well they were also inconvenienced because of where he parked his truck. It would be one thing if he had to manoeuvre to actually tow a vehicle, but it was a lock out call.

The driver that showed up was named James and let me just say he was awesome, super nice, let us come with him to drop the car off and then dropped us over downtown as close to our home as he could. The experience I had the day before when our car was being towed was awful and the driver was so rude so it was very refreshing to have an amazing nice driver like James be the one who took care of us today. And not to mention the price was absolutely excellent at only $100 compared to the $370 the other tow company wanted. James even stopped at an ATM for us so we could get out the cash with no problems what so ever. Had some nice conversations during the drive, he was an awesome man. Now there's MORE DAMAGE than before I dropped it off originally. The wiper sprayer wouldn't spray and the paint was poorly poorly done. They made me come back to repair their mistakes and made it a huge problem. Not only did I have to arrange my whole day to be here. They sent me off 5 minutes later to schedule ANOTHER appointment. I brought it back. Within 1 day I receive an email "car is ready" I show up and what do you know. MORE DAMAGE than before. This is most unacceptable behaviour. Not sure if it's an insurance scam. But BEWARE! Do not go to Carstar on Horseshoe lake drive. Your brand new car will look worse than the actual accident. Bravo to Carstar. My 2026 Honda looks wrecked!!!!!!!

They also scratched a body panel and are refusing to repair it even though I have a long, slow video of our car the day we dropped it off and that damage wasn't there. The pain has air bubbles in it, dirt and even a section where it looks like a piece of hair fell in the wet paint and someone pulled it out. Our insurance company sent us here.... Carstar can't get any of their own business, it's ONLY insurance companies sending them cars because they're so cheap. Also there are 139 of validated complaints in the BBB about this company and they've only been in Halifax for 5 years. Filing a complaint with the BBB takes a long time, you need proof etc. and they have nearly 140 complaints that the BBB said "yep, these guys screwed you". There are body shops who've been around for 50 years and don't have any validated complaints against them. STAY AWAY from this chop shop, or be faced with multiple visits, damage to your vehicle and then eventually suing them. Save yourself from this scenario.

The car was in a difficult spot in a busy parking lot which didn't faze the operator at all. To drop the car off at my mechanic's, he had to back in the driveway which was narrow, snow and ice covered. It took a few tries and he was excellent, and didn't get flustered at all. Furthermore, he didn't drop the car and leave, he took the time to let my mechanic set up blocks and stabilize the car. I hope all of their operators are carbon copies of this fellow, forgot to get his name, I will be recommending Added Touch Towing to everyone. Great job!

Stayed to do some paperwork and called again at 9:45am and asked if there was still a truck coming, i was told i was top of list. So i said why not do some more work. 10:45am still no truck, called again and said a truck was on the way. Did some more paper work and forgot about time. Its now 12:00 pm and still no truck. Dont waste your time.
