Tonight, after an email regarding a product they put on our Polaris went unanswered…read moreafter 3 business days, I went out to check the skimmer basket and found a mass of white cake powder (no clue what it is so handled with gloves using lab precautions but thought better than to put on metal or plastic because it could be reactive. I have actually been testing for FC, TC, CYA, pH, All, TDS before anyone is allowed to go in the pool after our daughter had a terrible skin reaction after swimming last summer that required multiple wound care visits, and she now has scars that will hopefully fade, the levels are often over conditioned. We actually have not been able to swim this summer as we've had algae, despite upcharges on every invoice from March forward for additional chemicals, and brushing by us every other day of the walls, stairs and floor. I'm sure the owner is competent in pool equipment, management, staffing, professionalism (I have video of the owner's son saying some very unkind things about other patrons who dared to park in front of their home making him walk farther with his bucket) and basic chemistry not so much. A few years back his wife was puzzled that the flocculant they kept adding was not dropping the algae to the floor to be vacuumed, and when I asked about the pH level (necessary to be in range for coagulation to happen) I got a dazed stare, and then the weekly guy ran the floc through the cartridge filters, destroying the media, and requiring a new set, so in house communication is also lacking, because when we called to ask if this was okay after we were told not to run the system, well, it's the fastest I've seen them return to shut off the system. Would have been quicker to just tell us to turn off the system, but that would be admitting a mistake, which is something all humans make, but this business will never be humble enough to acknowledge. My advice, call them if you have a repair or equipment issue, but not water chemistry or regular service. They do seem ecstatic when your pool is clear, but are pretty terrible at keeping that way, and unless you want to constantly be doing lab unknown tests when you find some substance clogging your skimmer, and testing before you use your pool (big IF on actually being able to swim in your pool) find someone who tests and treats properly. Because our health insurance asked where the swimming took place, had it not been our own pool, or it happened to a guest, they would have filled a claim against our homeowners policy, proceed at your own risk.

I can't say enough good things about this company. I've always dealt with Dillian, who is so knowledgeable and hard working. He has even fixed smaller issues with my pool that other companies were not able to fix while he was at my house, at no additional charge. He always responds to my text messages whenever I have any issues or questions on my equipment. Highly recommend this company! You just don't find customer service like this anymore!

I saw Gordo's truck down the street doing a neighbor's. Juan, the owner, called me back in a timely manner. That's rare nowadays. He showed up to give me an estimate, and was right on time...again. We hired him and I have to say that Juan and his crew were terrific. They were here early and worked until it was dark every day. I bought them lunch one day and they were so appreciative. Juan has a nice and friendly style. The fact that he owns the company only adds to the care he gives. His dad showed up one day to work with the crew. His dad used to be in the business for 30 years and trained Juan. Juan did extras..fixing and repairing cracked concrete, fixed our pool lights, and re-stained our rocks around the pool. I told him when he left that he could use us as a reference. He was wonderful. I took the photo as the pool is filling. You can see how nicely the rocks turned out and also the pool plaster.

Wow! My older pool filter unit was leaking from the exhaust outlet on the filter compartment. And…read morethe lines had a lot of air in them as evident from the floating pool sweep and the air coming out every morning at start up. I was thinking a replacement of the entire filter system was in order. Called NPS to take a look, and had to set up an appointment. Nelson from NPS inspected the system and ran the filter. I was out of town at the moment, and he called me and gave me some great advice. He agreed it was old system, but wanted me to troubleshoot a couple of things before deciding to replace. Even though the replacement price seemed reasonable to me. I got home from vacation, followed Nelson's instructions. After removing the filters and testing the pressure without the filters, I decided to buy new filters myself and replace. Runs great! No replacement of the system needed. The trip to diagnose was free and didn't cost me a thing for NPS. They didn't try to sell me something I thought I needed. They were only interested in finding the cause of the issue and letting me know what should be done. I still have an older filter system, but it is running great. We've had nothing but great experiences with AV Hawaiian. Our home warranty company often sends…read morethem out when there's an issue with our pool equipment, and every time they've been quick to get a hold of us, schedule and efficient in getting the issue resolved. Most recently, we discovered a large leak in a piece of pool equipment that we were pretty sure wouldn't be covered under our home warranty. I contacted AV Hawaiian directly, sent photos, and they were upfront in confirming it wasn't covered. I asked for a quote if they could fix it directly, and compared it with another pool company, and AV Hawaiian still came out on top. They were able to come out within a day of initial contact, fixed the issue in under 30 minutes, and the price was very competitive. Their office staff is always responsive and communicative, and Robbie, the technician, is fantastic to work with. They'll always be my first call if anything comes up with our pool.
