With my mom being 80 during the time of Covid, we were concerned about folks coming in that could easily be exposed to others. Due to Mom's failing memory, we had security cameras setup and could easily & regularly monitor her and her caregivers. We could verify that they wore masks, gloves, and practiced good handwashing practices. We were so grateful to have the same 3 caregivers on rotation, especially with Mom's increasing dementia. They always made sure to help her to restroom, especially before leaving their shift. As parking could be a challenge in the evenings since she lived in an apartment, the evening caregiver would go out of her way to show up early to make sure that parking wouldn't causer her to be late. That's care! They would patiently listen to her tell the same stories over and over and constantly engage her. We just couldn't be happier with the care and professionalism of the CHC team and would definitely use them again.

I am absolutely disgusted by what happened this morning involving an employee by the name of Nelly Carbajal. I was headhunted for a Coordinator position with Cambrian Homecare of Long Beach. Was encouraged to submit an application and participate in a video call the following morning (today). Mind you, I had taken time off work to research this company and be present for today's video call. I'm currently trying to make a career pivot from shipping and distribution into more administrative-based work. I was excited about this opportunity, only for my hopes to come crashing down ten minutes before the scheduled call was to occur. I'd been notified that Nelly was going to move forward with other candidates and she cancelled the call. I was left bewildered and infuriated. This was very tasteless and unprofessional on her behalf, considering I could have spent my time earning extra money rather than taking a half day at work. Please be more considerate of people, their time, and their circumstances. With all of the connections I've made through my volunteer work in the city of Long Beach, I'll be sure to spread negative word of mouth about this organization whenever prompted.

First of I had contacted Alex whom is the administrator of the office since last summer, never did he return a call and/or follow up with me. When I decided to reach out again in January, he commented that oh my office staff remember you calling.....really, then why didn't you follow up!?! You as a administrator never follows up and/or communicate. Do you even have any health care experience!?! Finally it had taken them 3 weeks to get an RN to open the case and finally she shows up at my house and she looked completely high as hell. She was off and scare the crap off my daughter. My daughter doctor even got the plan of care signed for them within 48 hours but they lagged so long that we lost the original nurse we had interviewed and that we were supposed to get. They given us 2 temporary nurse in the interim and they were completely disastrous. The first nurse did nothing but talk on her phone everyday while working, ate all through the day and watched her shows. Even had the nerve to ask me to wash her sock one day because she dropped my daughter diaper wipe on her sock while changing and again talking on the phone while performing her duties. She was late for over a week and even wrote inaccurate information on her nursing chart. Keep in mind she worked at my home for 3 weeks without a binder and/or plan of care in the home which is absolutely in violation if the Dept of Public health would had known this. Then the 2nd nurse lives less then 8 miles and couldn't even show up to work on time both days she was here nor call. She was over 30 mins late each day and had the nerve to ask me if she can go to Starbucks once she arrived. I was at a state of shock! Where in the hell did you find these ppl!?! Obviously you guys are just picking them off the street. Having that we have cameras in the house it was a safety feature for me and my daughter as I didn't trust neither one of them nor the agency. At the end of the day everyone in this agency is two faced, shit talker and incompetent. I was so glad my daughter doctors at Choc helped us find another agency. We are so happy with our current nurse! I truly hope either they get closed down or they get violated as this agency is shady!

Other staff members were great too, and we felt a real connection to them. Mom joined Dad for eternity at Riverside National Cemetery. Unfortunately Pastor John and all the others who cared for Mom couldn't attend the service, which left us feeling sort of empty. However, it was such a blessing that Pastor John put us in touch with Pastor Kevin from their Riverside office. Pastor Kevin made Mom's service better than we could have ever hoped for. The man was truly a blessing to the memory of our Mom. It was beautiful service, indeed! The last time we heard from the hospice was when an unfamiliar person called to schedule retrieving Mom's medical equipment. Nothing more. No flowers, sympathy card, or even a simple note. We've had many pets over the years who'd been cared for by various veterinary clinics, and whenever one passed, the very least they did was send a sympathy card signed by all the staff members. Now we're talking about the life of our Mom, and nothing! I thought so highly of Roze Room, but now I just can't understand their lack compassion in not following through on this one final act of courtesy and compassion to a family in mourning. I really hope they read this and do better for other families during their time of loss.
