I don't love going to the dentist (hard to get numb and have had bad experiences in the past) but I am always so blown away by the genuine care the staff has for patients. Every single person in the office is lovely and caring. In terms of treatment, I feel that my treatment plan is always open and honest. I don't feel pressured into anything, but rather am explained their recommendations for care and a recommended timeline. Also, the tech is pretty cool! (The 3D tooth mapping is awesome lol). Most recently I got a crown, which I have not been looking forward to. Mel was amazing and explained everything about the process and consistently checked in to make sure I was doing okay. Dr. Momany was great and as well! Highly recommend PVD!

This is not a safe place to have dental care!…read more This dental clinic has steadily gotten worse over the years. The individuals at the frontdesk, in charge of the office running smoothly are rude and offer the poorest customer service I've ever dealt with when it comes to dental/health care. Some of the doctors (Dr. Lewandoski) are not focused on providing good dental care due to incompetence. In the last 3 years this clinic has placed an emphasis of making money by providing substandard dental care. I had to find another dental clinic to have my teeth properly cleaned even after I tried communicating my concerns with the Frontdesk. A new dentist had to address my dental concerns and addressed my teeth not being cleaned properly after 6 - 8 cleanings. The clinic drilled into my teeth, claiming I had a cavities and placed fillings that lasted only a year or so. This clinic and several others in Pierce county are owned by group of investors who seem to have little interest in patient care.

When I questioned how they did (more than $1,000 more than another local oral surgeon), they coudn't/wouldn't share the methodology because there was none! It was by my history only. When I inquired about having a pre-auth done by my dental insurance, I was told that I would go directly into surgery after the consult so there was no need for the pre-auth. I said that per what I had been told by my insurance, as contracted provider, they were obligated to send a pre-auth. So now my "consult" is 8 weeks out. Shelved in other words, by the office staff. Who polices oral surgeons? Someone needs to! Seems a bit sketchy to me to come up with a price without even seeing the patient and also to push them into procedure after consult - no insurance consulting needed. This office just wants to take your money!

I started at Ecologic Dentistry a few days ago as a new patient with Dr. Yamashiro. When I first…read morewalked into the office, I was greeted by a very pleasant and welcoming receptionist. This helped me to feel more comfortable and relaxed! I believe that the front desk "mood" and attitude can set the stage for the entire dental visit in most cases! I did not have to wait very long to be escorted to one of the dental operative rooms by another friendly and welcoming face, who was the dental assistant. Once I was seated, the dental assistant took my BP and temperature and asked a few preliminary questions about the reason for my dental visit. Next, Dr. Yamashiro entered the room, and we discussed my dental background history and the reasons I had come to this office. I had been given a referral by my daughter, who is a patient at this office. She had researched Dr. Yamashiro's philosophy about a comprehensive approach to dentistry, and I was actually delighted to hear about this! I highly recommend that you check out the Ecologic Dentistry website to see all that Dr. Yamashiro offers through her dental care - it truly is from a "comprehensive" dental perspective! In my situation, my main dental concern was a broken, partially missing lower front tooth and a chipped lower front tooth sitting side by side. This had created the appearance of a gaping hole in the front of my lower dental arch, which looked like I had a missing tooth! I had become self-conscious and hesitant to laugh, talk or even smile! Dr. Yamashiro totally restored these broken and missing areas to perfection, in my opinion, and it was a painless experience for me as well! She matched the dental material color to the color of my enamel flawlessly! In addition, there are no signs that there was ever a broken or chipped tooth! Truly amazing work! I think my lower front teeth look better now than when they existed in their original condition before they were broken and chipped! Dr. Yamashiro is a very careful, gentle and kind dentist; however, she takes her work performance seriously and will do the best possible job! I was an RDH for 37 years, so I know a bit about great dentistry, and she definitely gets my 5-star vote of confidence!
