The Shores at Marina Bay

I lived here for a very brief period of time and I enjoyed it here very much. The place is located…read morein the Richmond point area and for being located in Richmond, it is a really nice location. The place is in a gated community and the grounds of the property are super nice and well maintained. Every resident here has their own parking spots with plenty of guest parking spots to go around. The apartments are very large and spacious, with porches looking over various spots of the property, washer and dryer in the units and high ceilings (on top floors). There are plenty of walking trails inside the property and outside of the property which is great on a nice day. The staff here are really nice and the residents are for the most part quiet. If you have the chance to buy or rent here consider yourself lucky - very gorgeous place.

One consideration was a freight train that crossed Marina Bay Parkway which could hold up the traffic but there is an underpass now. There are 'ponds' fountains, mature trees and geese, ducks, seagulls and ravens. It is a block from the Bay Trail and a view of San Francisco. The buildings are two story, with four units on each floor. There are larger buildings, also two story. The buildings are incredibly well maintained, and painted a restful muted color. Each unit has it's own entry so it is more like a house. Some units have a patio looks out on a pond.I bought a smaller condo facing a large pond, with fountain, and a pine tree. There are two outdoor pools and spas....each overlooking a pond. It does feel like you are living in a resort, as friends of mine have commented on. The location at The Shores is beautiful with the Bay Trail, view of the yachts, water and even a few sand beaches. 80% of the residents work and each unit has a separate entrance so it feels more like a home, but I rarely see anyone except someone walking to or from their car. There is no clubhouse or activities yet. There is a small strip mall with a CVS and Starbucks, cafe, cleaners, Italian and Mexican restaurant. You have to drive on 580 to find shops and grocery stores, like Central Ave in Albany to the El Cerrito shopping mall.. The sales team are wonderful...always very friendly, knew me by name even though I didn't drop in frequently. The HOA meetings are well attended. It is a beautiful complex,, very well maintained and landscaped and so much nature, but it is quite remote. Everyone I have talked to love living here.

Professional and Reliable Property Management I have been…read moreworking with The Cal Agents since 2025 to manage my house rental in the Bay Area, and it has been a consistently positive experience. Key Highlights: 1. Exceptional Team: I've had the pleasure of working with Wilsen, Ahyeza, Chris, Patricia, Jana, Fiona, Nikki, and Ramiro. They are professional, attentive, and easy to collaborate with. 2. Problem Solvers: One of their greatest strengths is that they never shy away from a hard problem. Whether it's a maintenance issue or a tenant concern, they tackle it head-on with a level of responsiveness that is hard to find. 3. Trusted Partnership: When you are looking for a partner to manage an investment property, creating an empathetic and caring relationship with the tenants is the most important factor. They have proven themselves to be reliable stewards of my property. Pro-Tip for Owners: Because they manage a diverse portfolio of both condos and houses, I found that providing clear context on my specific expectations for house-level marketing and maintenance from the start created a great feedback loop. Their receptiveness to this high level of communication is exactly why our partnership works so well; it ensures everyone is aligned from day one. Overall: If you need a team that is responsive and capable of handling the complexities of the Bay Area rental market, I highly recommend The Cal Agents.

So I am in the process of finding an agent or company to rent out a family home. I put the need out…read moreon Yelp and received several responses. I spoke to one agent, then made an appointment to have calls with others. The Cal Agents called me, and in less than a minute I realized it was someone from a Philippine call center. What a slap in the face. Outsourcing is a hot button issue, and I will NEVER share personal information with someone overseas, but also: WHY? Are they too busy for a two minute call to make that connection? Introduce themselves? Answer relevant questions? And perhaps MOST CLOYING: is this the same company that employs those same call centers to make masked cold calls asking to buy our property? HARD PASS.

I have been a resident of this condominium community for nearly thirty years. Over that time, I…read morehave witnessed prolonged periods of deferred maintenance, frequent turnover in property management, and ongoing issues with board governance. These challenges have included inconsistent decision-making, lack of proper vendor vetting, and, at times, actions that appeared to benefit select individuals rather than the community as a whole. Given this history, the current state of the property reflects the cumulative impact of years of mismanagement and difficult financial decisions. Addressing these longstanding issues is no small task. Since engaging Amanda Meng and her team, including Amelia, I have observed a meaningful shift. They have taken on the significant responsibility of navigating and correcting years of operational and financial challenges. Their efforts require not only technical expertise, but also resilience, professionalism, and strong leadership. I would like to commend Amanda and her team for their dedication, work ethic, and composure under pressure. I have personally witnessed Amanda handle highly challenging situations with professionalism and calm, even in the face of disruptive and inappropriate behavior during meetings. Her ability to maintain focus and decorum in those moments speaks to her leadership capability. Her role is demanding, requiring the ability to manage competing priorities, anticipate issues, and operate effectively under pressure. These are qualities I recognize and value from my own professional experience, and I see those same strengths reflected in Amanda's work. In my opinion, Amanda demonstrates a level of capability and potential that is both rare and valuable. I strongly support her continued role and efforts in improving the management and future of this community. Susan Schustak
