Only just discovered this place a couple months ago (it's right next to a yoga studio I frequent),…read moreright in downtown Watertown. It's a full service salon (minus nails) with about 8 hair stations when you first walk in, and a separate aesthetics area tucked away in the back. It is right on public square, so parking is a pain on the street, but I was told that there's also a parking lot tucked behind it that is much easier to deal with. I only knocked a star off because of the prices -- although they are the best prices in the area for Brazilians ($70 initially, then $60 from then on with recurring appointments). I've seen Hilary twice now, and she makes the process as quick and painless as possible. Plus she's fun to chat with, and knows a lot about the area -- which for me not being a local is helpful :) I've been to a couple other places for waxing so far, and they've either been outrageously priced and take forever, or the salons were very out of the way and inconvenient because they only took cash. So, I will definitely continue to see Hilary for her services as long as I'm in the area, and you should too!

Elements is a small spa and salon on route 26--a little ways past the school and courthouse. At…read morefirst it may look like another hair dresser inside a Victorian house (there are several in Lowville) but I think this place is really something special. The owner has done a really nice job trying to make this place sophisticated and special. The first time I went here in 2009 after it first opened, she told me she was renovating the place one area at a time as she can afford it. The first time I visited there was a waiting lounge, mani/pedi room, a tanning room, salon area, massage room and facial room. When I visited this summer there is a new space for the tanning bed and a separate room for the check in/payment counter. There's also a chiropractor working in the front room where the tanning bed used to be. I know its just going to get better as the years go by. One of my favorite parts about this spa is that my family's hair-dresser-Lori now works here. My family (including my dad) have been going to her for at least 15 years now, back when she worked at another salon in town. If you haven't looked by now--look to the left--I live in Manchester, CT. My parents live at Chase Lake 3-4 months out of the year so I schedule my hair appointments around visiting during the warmer months. Getting our hair done here is just more affordable than anything back home. And its nice to work with regular people, not the "hair snobs" I've dealt with at home before. I also just really like the waiting room. There's something about that long fluffy brown carpet...its not the most beautiful thing in the world but its really soft and comfortable, lol. Its a comfy and inviting room.

First impressions this salon is super serious about COVID-19. It's the first salon that took my temperature and made me sign a paper stating that I didnt have symptoms, or wasn't pending results. Pretty cool. Additionally, I had to sign in.. so I'm sure that if someone came up positive, I would be contacted. This salon was Uber clean!!! Every pedicure bin was covered and each item used on me was individually sealed. So no reusing of nail files, loofah, buffers, and their instruments were in a sterile container. Very nice. They DIDN'T RUSH MY SERVICE!!!! Oh my gosh!!! I loved every bit of it!!! I am one that goes for pedicures to relax and enjoy the service. I got the spa deluxe.. it has the crystals... which are like a jelly substance.. I had never experienced it before.. and got to swirl my feet in it for 10 minutes!!! And THEN had paraffin wax for 10 min and THEN hot stone massage for 10 min and then another massage for 15 min!!! This is all in addition to the usual pedicure stuff and painting of my toes!! Oh and LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE POLISH!!!! DAMN!! They have AT LEAST 100 gel (shellac) colors to choose from.. and if you are like me.. a SHIT TON of SPARKLY colors!!! Oh and they even have "cat eye" colors.. which are sooooo cool. My pedicure was only $65. So VERY budget friendly. And this was the top of the line. They do have cheaper options. Oh and I also had them wax my eyebrows... forgive the tired momma eyes!!! Its been a long night...lol but my eyebrows are at least in point ;) they did a fantastic job and only charged $12. Pictures are of my eyebrows and the jelly crystals.. they were soooo fun!!!! I highly recommend this place and will most definitely be back!

Yesterday she literally sneered at me throughout my appointment acting as if I was a burden to her and that she didn't have the time to do me as she was so busy. The final straw was when she started to apply the gel polish I had picked out. She stated that the polish I picked out was no good. She didn't explain why but just kept repeating it. She walked away and said she would come back after I picked another polish. I picked another one in the same pink color family. She again said "no good" and basically threw the bottle on the table. She handed me another group of swatches and told me to pick one. None of them were even close to what I wanted. Eventually she handed me another one that worked. Again sneering and stomping around throughout. Not a Spa service, downright rude! When I gave her a $5 tip(that she did not deserve) she again sneered at me, did not thank me and did not say goodbye. I will never return to that salon. (My sister was with me and could not believe how I was treated) they lost 2 customers !
