Vicki's Pizzeria offers several cut sizes of pizzas of traditional and specialty pizzas,, calzones, salads, chicken wings, appetizers, hot & cold subs, sandwiches, burgers, pasta dinners, macaroni salad, cheesecake slices, and Pepsi products in the cooler. They also have pizza slices available and offer pizza, wings & soda family meal deals. Besides prepared foods, they also sell candy bars, snacks, a few condiments, can soup, cereal, bread, milk, eggs, Gatorade, juices, bottled water, and paper products. I've heard mixed reviews of the food here, so I decided to stop by to check it out! The place was quite busy here with minimal standing room in front of the counter. I ordered the smallest pizza offered, a 6 Cut/12" Round Deluxe Pizza ($18 plus tax), which was all set in 15 minutes after ordering. This pizza was topped with red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, & mushrooms, melted mozzarella cheese on top of a firm crust with thick round edges with a light dough texture. The pizza tasted pretty good, though the toppings slid off my first slice, fresh hot out of the oven. The good portion of ziti (penne) was cooked soft smothered in red sauce & cheeses and topped with a modest amount of mozzarella cheese, firm meatball on top. The side salad had crisp lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions & green peppers, dressing cup on the side. The white Italian bread and butter was typical. From what I've read in these reviews, what is being presented are the reviewers' likes and dislikes for a particular style of pizza. Bottisti's chooses to make pizza in a certain way, which is to my liking. Other pizza places in town make pizza in a different way, so I don't tend to buy from them. If you are from Amsterdam, you know who makes the kind of pizza you like. What is so nice about living here is that we have these many choices. So, please, be careful in your denunciations of the eateries, not just here in Amsterdam, but in other places as well. They have established a style of food preparation that is enjoyable to some, but not to others. It is okay to say that a particular restaurant's food is not to your liking, but don't use words like "garbage" and the like in these reviews. It is not helpful to me or others trying to find a restaurant to our liking. Say why you dislike the food and why a certain preparation does not appeal to you. In that way, we readers can make a more informed decision. By the way, my wife and I like Bottisti's pizza because we like the thinner crust and their particular way of making sauce and its flavor (the combination of seasonings is to our liking).
