My partner is always looking for the best pupusas in town, so I had to stop and get some to put them to the test. After an embarrassing interaction due to a Spanish/English language barrier (I really should know more Spanish), I worked out one order of chicharron pupusa, which included three and curtido. They were made fresh; I could see the man making them by hand! This also means receiving the order took some time. I wasn't in a rush, so I spent my time looking at all the delicious international products they hosted in-store. I noticed an $11.99 lunch special that I'll have to come back for and a bunch of spices that I need to add to my pantry. I received my hot and fresh order with a smile and waited for my partner before digging in. They were delicious! A true delight. The outside was just the right amount of crisp, and the inside was gooey cheese, pork, and beans. I can't wait to go back and try more. An FYI to first-time visitors: the parking lot only has one entrance, and you can speed by it if you don't notice. The parking lot is small, but this seems to be an in-and-out place, so I suspect it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot.

We pulled up during what felt like a historic flood but apparently might just be another day in Norfolk. We arrived a bit after lunch hour and were able to order right away. You make your choices at the counter and then take the food to a covered seating area. (Good thing it's covered since it was pouring) I'll start by mentioning that every staff member we encountered was awesome, they all seemed into what they were doing and delivered a great experience. I was also impressed by the operation. They had everything you would need displayed in the seating area. Sauces, utensils, napkins, to go containers, and bags. No need to awkwardly look for anything. Hard to get this far into a review without mentioning the outstanding food. It's some of the best BBQ I've had! We went with the professional platter and added burnt ends. I enjoyed each and every item but the standout to me was the brisket, I've never had a juicier more tender piece of brisket in my life! Ribs were done really well also, the burnt ends had tons of flavor, the sausage was delicious, and the pulled pork and chicken were winners as well. The fries were better than expected, the Mac and cheese was tasty, and the broccoli salad worked really well with all that meat! Truly a feast!

We had to put in the order at the counter first before grabbing a table in one of the shack style sitting areas. They had 7 different styles of meat and 9 different sides. They also sold snack, house made sauces and some merchandises of their brand. I ordered the 2 meat platter with beef brisket and chopped beef. Within few minutes of ordering, they brought the order out to the table. I liked the chopped beef but didn't like the brisket. Tried the burned end also that was good actually. The chicken nuggets I got for my daughter were the best. They were so tasty. The side of corn pudding was also excellent. The shack we sat in was really hot since there was no AC, just a normal fan was blowing air. It was self service so we got the utensils, soda and water. They had ketchup, vinegar, mustard, bbq and white sauces available in the condiment area. Overall it was a decent spot but bbq meat fell short in taste for me.
