I found Dr. Chen during one of the most difficult times of my life…read more After a medical diagnosis, my nervous system seemed to go haywire, and I developed severe insomnia. At one point, I was unable to sleep at all. I was extremely averse to medication and initially refused any treatment. I found Dr. Chen and began acupuncture. I still wasn't sleeping, but after a few sessions, Dr. Chen gently advised me that I should consider taking medication. Because I trusted him, I listened. I took a short course of medication, and eventually I went back to sleeping like a baby. Dr. Chen was there throughout my entire period of suffering and healing, and I credit his expertise in acupuncture as an important part of my recovery. Before finding Dr. Chen, I had seen another acupuncturist who did absolutely nothing for me. The office was the definition of "Zen"--water sounds, beautiful scents, peaceful surroundings--and it cost a whole lot of money. And yet I was awake the entire time. Dr. Chen's office is the complete opposite. It is very no-frills, with bright lights and phones ringing. And somehow, every single time the needles are in, my body lets go. I enter what feels like a deep parasympathetic state and actually fall asleep or nap. Every. Single. Time. That, to me, says everything. You don't need a perfectly designed environment to relax when you are in the hands of someone whose expertise allows your body to feel safe. Dr. Chen was not only my acupuncturist during an incredibly difficult chapter; he was someone I trusted when I was scared and didn't know what to do. I am deeply grateful that I found him. I love him and his wife Jenny and refer everyone to them!

Dr. Miki Hayashi provides highly individualized and holistic care. Not only has she accelerated my healing process from two separate accidents (an old bicycle accident injury and a car accident injury), but also counseled me through managing and lessening my IBS symptoms. She has a wealth of knowledge in regards to a range of natural treatments, which have proven far more helpful than treatments and recommendations provided by my primary care physician and GI specialist! Apart from being incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, Dr. Hayashi is also incredibly attentive and compassionate. Every appointment feels like catching up with an old friend. Additionally, Dr. Hayashi is fully transparent when it comes to your condition, her observations, and her plan of treatment. Few doctors ever take the time to explain their rationale for things, but Dr. Hayashi always provides a foundation of knowledge to help her patients truly understand their condition and their treatment options. In terms of appointment scheduling, Dr. Hayashi has always proven very prompt, flexible, and efficient. Once I even came in for PT and an adjustment but had just come down with a migraine. My western doctors had never been able to find anything in blood tests, and my case fell under "unexplained". Dr Xie listened to my symptoms, provided weekly herbs, and tweaked them as my health improved. Within just 1-2 months, my acne cleared and my general anxiety noticeably got better. It was like magic! Even some symptoms I wasn't there to treat, like digestion and stuffy nose, got cleared up too. At that point I was already thrilled and the fertility almost became a secondary goal. Dr Xie said it would take 3-6 months to work, and it took exactly 6 months for me. I can't recommend Del Mar Health enough. In one visit he was able to treat the issue and I was able to breathe through my nose for the whole weekend!! Of course I understand it's about the process but I have noticed a better quality of breathing since I've started treatment. He caters each treatment to your issues so each visit may be different according to what you need. This last visit he was able to release a lot of tension and issues I didn't even know I had!
