Whenever I was picking which ones I wanted, I told my boyfriend "it's go big or go home!" so I tend to always pick the biggest ones! Lol We ended up getting a dozen as he purchased the $20 per person for both of us. So much sunflowers! Hahaha I love it. We trimmed the stems in their tables area, and returned the cutter to the front. I saw that the person offer twine so I asked for some twine to help tie our bouquet of sunflowers. I definitely enjoyed being here, and I've been here twice so far. First time my bestie took me here to celebrate my birthday two years ago. Then the second time I came here with my boyfriend! :) They don't have a parking lot, but you can park on the street for two hours according to the street sign. Yes, there were so much bees and other little buggies around and on the flowers.

To get this experience going, you'll check-in with the staff and let them know you want to do the sunflower experience. It's $20 for 6 sunflowers and they give you looper (thing used to cut the flowers), sign a waiver, and you can into the two different sunflower fields to pick which ones you like. If you want to walk the fields, without picking flowers, it's $12 per person. Once we paid, we grabbed our looper and headed out. We had the dogs with us, and they had a blast just walking around and taking in the scenery. We found the sunflowers we wanted, and headed back toward the entrance to cut and clean the ones we picked. When we were finished, they wrapped up our flowers in a bag with some water so they could make the journey back home with us. The staff here were amazing. Since it was our first time doing this, they were patient with us and explained their best tips to cut and clean. Very nice people all around! Definitely a fun coast side experience and a great thing to do when the weather is as nice as it's been. If you are planning on going out into the fields, highly recommend bringing shoes you don't mind getting dirty.

Berry picking is seasonal and it's currently closed, I believe** During peak season, hours are from 8am - 11am so make sure you arrive early! My friends and I arrived at 10 near the tail end of the season and there was plenty of parking (a small, unpaved lot!) and space to pick berries. There are signs indicating which rows correlate to which berries (I didn't know there were so many varieties) and the farm offers both black and raspberries. One thing i really liked was that they have specific rows they recommend visitors pick from. We didn't see the signs are first so we ended up picking from the back/middle rows, but the berries were all so sweet and juicy. I'd definitely recommend people checking this out for a quick, cute weekend date with friends or loved ones :)

An ending clip visited a farmers market in Pacifica which featured a stand from here. After a quick search, I surfed their website and ordered a variety of flavors to try. The texture was soft with a slight chew and I was happy that there were no difficult to chew pieces. It'll take me a while to finish this one so I'm not sure when I'll get to the other flavors. In ordering, I was added to their email and text list so I started getting promo notices. Here, I learned that they are a full meat company in offering a variety of steaks and other meat products. With a busy work and home schedule, I haven't had a chance to do more homework in trying more things. Will update if any of those untried flavors wow me or something else they sell is noteworthy.

Enter the garden via the end of Locksley Street (aka 6th Avenue) or the vacant lot (home to a pumpkin patch and Xmas tree lot) at 7th Ave and Lawton. There's always something interesting growing in members' garden plots plus a small redwood grove, picnic table and native plants area. The garden has a community work day at the beginning of every month, perfect for learning about what to grow or how to compost. Check the calendar on the bulletin board for exact times and dates. A bulletin board at the front gate has information on garden work days (open to everyone), garden membership and neighborhood events. They have a handful of tiers that have different items you can make including paper weights, ornaments, pumpkin, and a terrarium. Each tier is priced differently and gradually increases as you move up a tier. When you book/preregister for your class, you have to select the tier you want to make from, but you are able to change it when you get there. My mom had selected a tier 2 item when booking, but switched to tier 1 the day of, and we were charged appropriately. Instructors were very helpful and gave good insight and demonstrated how the process worked. They were very hands on, and could be even more so if you needed them to be. Our class had some younger kids as well as adults, and everyone was given great care and the assistance they needed. You take turns each making your piece one at a time, so the actual process per person probably took around 20 minutes for tier 0-2 items. Depending on class size and how many people are in your group/when you arrive, you could expect to be there anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5. You don't get to take your blowing home right away, it has to sit in a hot oven overnight to set, so I sadly haven't seen my finished product yet, but I can't wait to pick it up and start putting it to use! Good pro-tip, wear long sleeves! I wore short sleeves because I figured I would be too hot in long, but the molten glass is VERY HOT and can irritate your skin just from the proximity! My arm turned super red and had a little bit of a heat rash the rest of the day, but it went away by the next morning.

My friends and I all made small pumpkins to remember our visit and they turned out to be so beautiful. The day we came someone was wrong with the oven. It wasn't as hot as it should've been but the workers teaching us were very cool and easy going and we were still able to make our glass. They gave great instruction and helped us the whole time. I learned so much and loved learning how to do this! I like that they can even mail you your item for a small fee since it takes a day or two to cool. I would definitely do this again! It's such a special experience.
