I have a love / hate relationship with Goodwill in Auburn. Their selection is often great! However,…read moretheir prices have skyrocketed. Lower priced items here are often more expensive than to purchase new. They had some yarn that seemed marked up - I checked Walmart and it's less expensive new. I found the manager who handles pricing, explained that it's cheaper New from Walmart. His response? "Well this is Goodwill, not Walmart!". Indeed. A donations-driven nonprofit engaging in price gouging. Other outrageous pricing I've seen - beat up LLBean clothing being sold for twice the cost of similar apparel, damaged goods that they refuse to discount, etc. Soooo, maybe try an independent thrift store first. And please check prices on your phone! Or stick to the sale tag colors! Finally, consider donating elsewhere because while this place is mission driven, they're certainly making us customers pay more to increase already inflated upper management salaries - you can look that up.

Especially when looking new and expecting to pay huge amount more! knowing people shop at Goodwill since they are pinching pennies, the store does carry new items often the Big Lots type deals on either new cheap (both quality and price) clothing (shoes boots), accessories (gloves socks) as well as household items like aluminum wrap and zip locks. Even though we could not find a decent pair of snow boots for my daughter, the Sorels we saw for $25 for overpriced for such interior damage to the boot, she appropriately said no. Anyway thrift store shopping is always hit and miss but since i got a good hit with the duffel, I am happy.

Has a way more open space feeling so even if it gets busy it won't feel as busy and crowded. I will also say the largest portion of this location definitely seemed to be the clothing. Some of the clothing did seem haphazardly placed in the wrong size section but I'll assume that was customers putting them back however they wanted. If you are a fan of thrifting and being on the hunt for that ultimate find/hidden gem this would be a spot I'd recommend. It may take some time and searching but prices all seemed reasonable. My wife and I did not find anything we needed or wanted but since it's goodwill you know they'll have an ever rotating stock so we will likely return. Definitely one of the better Maine Goodwill locations we have visited in recent memory.

My favorite Goodwill, and it didn't disappoint today either. So many name brands here. I've been to…read moreGoodwill across the country. Maine, New York, New Hampshire, Florida, Texas, Hawai'i, and California. Falmouth, Maine is the best. Okay, Hawai'i was pretty good for Hawaiian wear, but didn't have the name brands like Falmouth, Maine! Wasn't looking for anything in particular, just looking. Maybe for a Lily Pulitzer dress. But just checking to see what they had. Wasn't busy at all. Isles are nice and wide to walk down. And racks aren't so stuffed that you can't even take an item out and have to shove back on the rack. Ross, and Marshall's and TJ Maxx is like that. And it's such a turn off shopping over stuffed racks. I found a Mexi Cali Blues top, which I love that store. And some maple syrup in a tin to bring back home. Their maple display was outstanding. And I'm so happy to be bringing back a little bit of Maine back to Austin with me. 1 item off my list. Cashier was a nice gentleman. Easy and quick check out.
