Staff was very welcoming and the vibe of the store and the music put a smile on my face. Fetch is full of fun finds, KC merch, locally sourced product displays, and so much more. The back room is loaded up with some excellent thrift finds, even though the price point is reflective of the unique pieces moreso than just turning over resold 'stuff'. Throw in some cool home accents (I was so close to nabbing the martini olive throw rug) and some other kitschy gems and you have a great spot. Parking is west side street stuff, so you're on your own. The staff is super friendly and always making suggestions, and their playlists are phenomenal. Pricing is on par with the area and like shops, but give yourself a little treat now and then. But give that south wall a gaze, because their sandwich sign social voice is seriously top shelf. I don't care what side of the fence you land on, Fetch focuses their messages on kindness & humanity. Give me more, soooooo much more. And Gretchen was spot on, because it's so Fetch.

Locals may know…read morethis name from their history of popping up all over KC, but they also have their own beautiful spaces full of "Cool Plants for Cool People." Not just a clever tagline, during my visits, I lose count of how many times I say, "This place is so cool!" And while I don't consider myself super cool, this tropical oasis has me beLEAFing it. Admittedly, I have a history of being a black thumb girly, but the customizable format of rOOTS gives me confidence I can change that! At rOOTS, every plant has a QR code for you to scan for information, care instructions, and a contact for additional support. You can also get your plant professionally potted at no charge. It literally takes out all the guesswork and will have you saying, "You grow!" In addition to dozens of plant varieties and pots, they have plant accessories, home goods, and gifts. And they host events EVERY week, so be sure you're following them to see what fun they have planned. So who's with me in becoming KC's newest plant parent?! I'm ROOTing for you!

It was nice to have places for the kids to climb and explore. And there were also spaces to rest and be quiet. I like that each book was unique on display so it wasn't the same old thing over and over again. What I really loved was that they have multiple copies of each book represented in said section. So the ones we hadn't read and were interested in, we were able to discover like The Funny Thing and The Fire Cat. And ones we were aware if were fun to read while exploring like Goodnight Moon (my absolute favorite part), Babar, Frog and Toad, and No, David! The bus ride is a must; so creative and heart warming. We didn't purchase tickets for The Three Robbers experience, but peeking inside I wish we had, it looks great. The docents and volunteers were all knowledgeable of the books. And they were very kind when needing to remind kids of the museum rules. If I lived here I would by an annual membership for sure. And would have gladly paid more than the current $16 admission as I think this experience is worth much more.
