Marcus was nice and getting my car to the repair shop was hassle-free given the circumstances. I would not recommend A&L Towing based on my experience. What should have been a simple roadside…read moretire change turned into more than a three-hour ordeal and resulted in damage to my vehicle. I contacted my roadside assistance at 7:22 PM for help with a flat tire. A&L Towing arrived around 7:48 PM. The driver appeared to be very young and arrived wearing a black T-shirt, yellow shorts, and black slides. When I asked if he was planning to change my tire wearing slides, he told me he had been asleep and had just woken up because his father told him to come help me. After retrieving my spare tire and using my lug wrench, he struggled to remove the lug nuts. Instead of using the proper equipment, he repeatedly attempted to force different lug wrenches onto the wheel bolts by striking one wrench with another. I became concerned as I watched him move from wheel to wheel trying different methods. When I asked if he needed assistance, he declined. He then made a FaceTime call to his father, speaking in another language. After the call, he informed me that his father was going to cancel my roadside assistance request. He collected his tools, drove away, then returned just a couple of minutes later saying he needed to take a picture of my wheel so his father could cancel the service request. At that point, I contacted my roadside assistance provider to report that my tire was still flat and that A&L Towing had left without completing the job. Around 10:15 PM, more than two hours later, A&L Towing returned--this time with a young female driver, who advised she was the owner's daughter. She asked if I needed help changing my flat tire. I explained that her brother had already canceled my service request and that another towing company had already been dispatched. She then told me she was there to tow my vehicle, but I declined because I preferred to wait for the replacement service provider. When the second towing company arrived, the driver immediately examined my wheel and told me that my lug bolts had been freshly stripped. He asked whether anyone else had attempted to remove the tire before he arrived. After I explained what had happened, he confirmed that the damage was consistent with the previous driver's unsuccessful attempts to force the tools onto the lug bolts. He also believed the reason the first driver returned to photograph my wheel was to document its condition after the damage had already occurred. This entire experience demonstrated a lack of professionalism, inadequate training, poor communication, and unacceptable workmanship. I experienced an unnecessary delay of more than three hours, my roadside assistance request was canceled without my authorization, and my vehicle was damaged during an unsuccessful repair attempt. If A&L Towing is sending inexperienced drivers to perform roadside assistance, they should be properly trained, supervised, and equipped before being dispatched to customers. Roadside assistance customers deserve competent, professional service--not damaged vehicles and hours of unnecessary inconvenience. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend A&L Towing.

The next day I contacted the local police department who advised me that Somoza's Towing was the towing company who had taken my vehicle. Afterwords I reached out to Somoza's towing to see where my car was located and spoke with a dispatcher who advised me he did not know where my car was located but he was going to forward my inquiry to upper management and they would call me back. I received no call back, so my father reached out and was able to speak with the owner who refused to release my car that night (Saturday) but would be able to retrieve my car at 1:00pm Sunday and to call him at 11:00am to confirm. It is now 3:30pm and have reached out to the company over 6 times and the owner has not returned my car and is not present at the tow yard therefore I cannot retrieve my car. This is extremely unprofessional and I feel like this is a scam for him to get more money by not being available to open the gate so I can get my car. Refusing to not open the gate Saturday night and now will not return my phone calls so I am assuming I will be charged 2 extra days for storage which if that occurs I will be taking this company to court to get my money back. California law, CVC 22856 subsection (N, 2, A) states "...A vehicle removed from private property pursuant to this section shall be stored in a facility that meets all of the following requirements: Remains open during normal business hours and releases vehicles after normal business hours..." which my vehicle was on private property. Over the 32 years we have been towed twice and had several battery jumps. This year we had three jumps and a short tow. I received a letter that we are out of services for the next 7 mos. Why were we not told, warned, reminded that we would lose the two hundred mile tow by getting our car battery jumped? And if you think getting your DMV work done is any easier, think again. We gave up on that letdown years ago, but kept the towing for fear of breaking down out of town. ZERO stars AAA. We really blew it trusting you.
