Amy Huynh did my hair and makeup for both my maternity shoot & my baby shower (two different occasions). I'm well pleased with her quality of work not to mention she only uses the best products on your skin. Would recommend Amy for any special occasion that you might want to get a little dolled up for. Amy Huynh Makeup and Lash Studio - Makeup and hair done by Amy - Makeup Artists Near Me

Love! I just found my new MUA. Love how beautiful my makeup came out. I had called Amy a few days before our family photos and thankfully she was able to take me. I had thought about going to sephora or Mac to get my makeup done but it's usually a hit or miss with those places. So I had gone on trusty yelp and saw the amazing work that Amy had done on previous clients. I showed up on time for our appointment and Amy was already there getting everything ready. She asked me what kind of makeup I wanted but I told her to do what she thought would look good. I'll let the photos speak for themselves but at the end I absolutely loved what she did. The makeup lasted all day and night too. I was kinda sad having to take it off. Anyhow ladies I would highly recommend Amy and will be returning as a regular client. read more

Amy did my hair and makeup for both my wedding and my engagement photos. My wedding was in Temecula, but I chose to look for a makeup artist experienced with working on Asian faces, even if it meant paying extra fees for traveling. I made the right choice choosing Amy! Several people commented on how nice my hair and makeup looked on my wedding night. During my trial(s), Amy listened to my concerns and what I wanted. The makeup was a breeze for her, but she did have trouble putting my hair in a high bun during the trial (my hair is not the easiest to work with). Because my hair/makeup trial doubled up as my engagement photo makeup/hair later that day, she did not want me to be late to my photo session and offered to give me a 2nd trial on my hair before the wedding. Even though a high bun might seem like an easy hairstyle, it's difficult to pull off for my hair type, and I was really impressed by Amy's work on my wedding day! Amy is truly sincere in making sure that you are happy with her work. Her rates are also fair compared to others I looked into. I highly recommend Amy for your wedding hair and makeup! read more

Amy is a master at her art, especially Asian bridal hair and makeup. My first interaction with Amy was at our trial session before my engagement photoshoot. We discussed the vintage feel I was going for and she totally hit the nail on the head. I told her that I would be changing outfits during the shoot and she provided me with lip color for the change. My picky mom and sister were even impressed with my hair and makeup for the photoshoot that I ended up booking Amy and her team for my whole bridal party, our mom, my older sister, and the flower girls. My bridesmaids and mother in law who usually never wear makeup were so happy with the final product. The quote of the day was Beyonce's "I woke up like this!" They felt fabulous with their dolled up looks but also didn't feel like the make up transformed them into someone unrecognizable. My mom and sister who are the definition of day-to-day glam were also very happy with their hair and make up. Amy is super professional. On the wedding day, she and her team arrived on time and were ready even when some of the bridesmaids were running late. Her method is very straightforward, clean and efficient so you don't need to worry about being distracted or running behind on time. read more

From the day of my trial until my wedding day, i kept in touch with Amy and kept changing my mind about what I wanted to do for my hair and the amount of people I wanted her to do makeup on. She was very accommodating about that. I ended booking her for myself, my mom and my mother in law. Both moms loved their makeup and you know it is very hard sometimes to do makeup on older asian woman. As for my makeup I was very happy with it. She enhanced my features nicely instead of trying to change them. I will be recommending her whenever someone asks :) read more

Amy is absolutely wonderful at what she does! I hired her for hair and makeup for both my engagement shoot and my wedding. I have never felt so beautiful in my life. :) She is very professional and she is such a sweetheart. I had her do my 5 bridesmaids as well as my mom, mother in law, and grandmother. Because there were so many people who needed their makeup and hair done she had an assistant. Her assistant did an amazing job as well and everybody was happy and loved their hair and makeup! That's pretty impressive if u can make all 9 girls happy! Lol. In fact one of my friends is getting married next year and wants to hire her because she did such a good job at my wedding. Conclusion: Hire Amy! You will love her work and you won't be disappointed! read more

Great communication, professional, super clean studio. Highly recommend for natural looking, clean Asian makeup application.

I absolutely love... love... love... Amy's work!!! Amy's makeup/hair work is amazing and the pictures attest to her talented abilities. I found my prince charming and immediately knew Amy would be the one to transform my look into a stunning bride. And boy did she accomplish that in many ways!!! I booked Amy for my engagement photo session in June at Laguna Beach. I wanted my makeup to be light and natural yet still be able to show on photos. She did exactly what I wanted and the makeup lasted all day without any smudge. Fast forward to my wedding day in September 27. I booked Amy to do my hair and makeup, 4 bridesmaids, 2 moms and my sister. Amy was very professional and had a schedule timeline of who she was going to do next and when the time would be. She showed up on time and was super efficient. My mom-in-law bought an extra person to do makeup and Amy was extremely accommodating and fitted her in the schedule. You rarely see someone with her talent be so humble and kind. She puts you at ease and make sure you are beautiful and satisfied. I've received so many compliments on my hair and makeup and that it lasted all day! Her work speaks for itself!! I definitely recommend Amy for your bridal makeup and hair needs!! She is truly one of the best gems out there! read more

I hired Amy to do my make up and hair for my wedding in May. Her and her team also did hair for 7 of my bridesmaids! Let me start with my trial session - I've had a few trial sessions with other stylists before her, none of which spent the time to really listen to what I wanted nor could they execute the look I wanted. When I went to Amy, she literally spent 2.5 hours with me and my 2 bridesmaids on my makeup and hair. She started with light makeup, so I could compare and contrast that with heavier makeup. She took photos of both so I could see which I liked best. The make up was beautiful. Then she went on to my hair and tried at least 4-5 hairstyles! We finally ended up with a style I absolutely loved. I booked her on the spot for my wedding day. On my wedding day, her and her team drove all the way down to San Diego to glam us up at my hotel. They spent about 4 hours to get us all ready on time. She is very sensitive to time and always made sure her team was making good time, so we weren't late! She's extremely kind and patient.. most importantly she puts the bride first and really made me feel special and confident that she was going to do everything to make my "look" perfecto. Her prices are very affordable and she was really generous with her time. I highly recommend Amy, especially if you and your bridal party are asian and want a soft, graceful look. read more

One word describes my experience working with Amy on my wedding day... AMAZING! She was so professional yet easygoing and relaxed Having her do my bridal makeup and hair was one of the best decisions I made. After an unsuitable makeup trial with someone else which was very close to my actual date, I was afraid I couldn't find a makeup artist in time and I was so happy Amy was available for my big day. I never ended up doing a trial with Amy but I was impressed by the wonderful raving reviews on Amy's yelp page and Instagram that I trusted I would be in great hands. From my first inquiry I knew she was going to be awesome! She was very responsive and even asked for some photos to give her an idea of how I wanted to look. Amy gave me a flawless, fresh and glowing makeup yet still looked like myself. I felt totally fabulous and beautiful as a bride I wanted to be. My makeup stayed flawless all day long and it came out amazing in prints and photos. Highly recommended her! read more

I found Amy from Yelp last minute to do my makeup and hair for my best friend's wedding that I'm the maid of honor. She is on time ( she was even a little bit earlier to set up), professional, and really knows what she does. I love a bold look with smokey eyes, red lips, and contouring. She delivered just that. She is experienced with doing hair for Asian so my hair stayed curled and volumed all night. I got so many compliments on my makeup n hair that night and was actually asked to give out her number. I love that she travels to me. Or you can come to her house studio. read more

Amy did my eyebrows tattoo. She did an amazing job let me tell you from her drawing out my brows as picky as I am, she was very patience with me and my decision on how I wanted my brows to look. The procedure was very calm and relaxing even when I was scared half of the time but with her numbing cream it was absolutely awesome that I didn't feel any pain at all she constantly numbed me even when it didn't hurt. I love my brows now that it been a week and lighter, I wake up ever morning feeling happy that I don't have filled them in..Another plus because before drawing my brows it was time consuming now it's like damn I got the perfect brows without wasting any time. AMY your the BEST xoxo.... read more

Amy came highly recommended from a friend who was using her for her own wedding! Amy and her sister did hair and makeup for my wedding and I could not have been happier! They were so professional, so punctual, and so incredibly flexible! They did makeup/hair for me, my 3 bridesmaids, and my mom. I was looking for someone who would be awesome with asian makeup/hair, since I think it takes a different eye to get it right. Everyone commented on how natural it looked and how she did such an amazing job at enhancing my looks, not covering it with layers of makeup. Amy was so patient during my trial, really listened to my concerns and requests, and remembered everything for the actual day! None of my bridesmaids were asian, but she still did such a wonderful job on their hair and makeup too! One of my bridesmaids never gets her hair and makeup done, and wears really minimal makeup daily, but she was so ecstatic that she still felt like herself afterwards! I highly recommend Amy for any event, but especially for weddings if you want to look beautiful, but natural! read more

I hired Amy to do my hair and makeup for my engagement photos. I loved her work, so I hired her for the wedding day. We planned for bridal and 1 bridesmaid to get hair and make up done but at last minute, more bridesmaids wanted it done. We were tight on time and she was so accommodating and worked everyone in. She brought an assistant and everything worked out. I would hired again if the occasion arises. She's great at what she does and is so nice!! Definitely recommend her! read more

Amy does a great job on makeup for photoshoots and weddings. She will transform your face based on the look that you want. She also does eyelash extensions and charges a lot less than others. Amy took her time putting on my extensions to make sure they were filled correctly since the last lady I went to messed up my lashes. Amy is usually very busy on the weekends but is very accommodating so be sure to book in advance. read more

wow can i say she is one of the most gorgeous makeup artists?! I just had my first makeup session (for my friends event and I wanted to have professional makeup done for the first time in years) couple days ago and I was definitely happy with how my makeup turned out. her studio is very pretty and spacious she was very sweet and helpful and asked me if i wanted refreshments and asked me if there was any specific requests for my makeup and really made me feel at home. she meticulously worked on every part of my bare face. my eyebrows were shaped better from her. she mentioned that she does eyebrow conditioning (forgot other part she mentioned lol).. she really studies the structure of Asian faces (I'm korean and our flat face needs a lil bit of expertise makeup artist to do our contouring lol) and skin tone. I learned a lot from her about makeuo tips and skin care tips. she is very affordable and honestly, she brings her A game. my expectations were surpassed. I am definitely going to book her for my engagement shoot. she also does hair but for my session I just did makeup only. 12 hours later, my makeup still stayed and felt like nothing there. and another plus: no facial breakouts after removing my makeup either. read more
