It's located next to the JW Marriott and across from the mall. Drinks: 4 stars Environment: 5 stars Overall: 4.25 stars I came here for drinks and didn't try any of the food. The view and environment here is top notch and is a great place to go to see the view of the city. Cocktails are pricey but also were good. I also had the chocolate soufflé, which I didn't like that much. Otherwise I probably would have rated five stars.

This place is slightly more expensive for breakfast that the JW Marriott (and its in the same building but with a separate entrance) but it's got an amazing view and the food is delicious. The place is super chill, good background music and good vibes from the staff. It also has a chill vibe in the way that it's laid out, there's a feeling of openness. Maybe that feeling has to do with the epic view however. A few seats are in window corners where you get a great panorama view. Other seats are internal but still have a good view from a distance. I would go back, if for no other reason just for the fact that I had something I've never had before anyplace and it was really good. They have an eggs Benedict with short ribs in place of the ham. It's a Hong Kong take on the dish. We also had the pastries and muffins to share for the table. All were amazing.

Initially was recommended this place by a friend because of its roof hop section and location in the heart of Mong Kok along with occasional live music performances. They have set dinners as well as al la carte. Started off with a smoked salmon kale salad along with a cheesy chorizo baked mushroom. Both were pretty standard but portions were appropriate for a light appetizer. The highlight of my meal was the truffle mushroom linguine! Had to add some additional salt and pepper but there was a generous serving of various types of mushrooms and truffle on top! The cream sauce was also very quite delicious and the truffle flavor wasn't too overwhelming. Also tried the octopus risotto! It was combination of squid ink black risotto with spanish paella. The grilled octopus itself was huge although not as tender as I had hoped. I still very much enjoyed the over overall super seafood-y flavor. The rooftop area was still clean and well lit. Loved how you get a background of old HK buildings while enjoying western fusion/more modern dishes. I've also heard this place features really cute cocktails include one with a bubble/mist. Service was pretty standard. Dinner can be pricey but comparable to many other restaurants; their lunch sets seem much more budget friendly.

Comfortable, spacious setting with premium shisha. A treat after visiting a busy area like Mongkok!read more

Waitress was an idiot. My friend ordered a dozen escargots as entree. That came out and I kept waiting for my prawns. My friend waited with me after eating couple escargots. Waitress never understood she is supposed to bring both out despite explaining to her twice. Have to called manager and explained a third time. By the time my prawns finally come out, my friend's food was all cold. They were apologetic and offered free ice cream which we turned down. Service was mediocre at best. I had to wave down a waiter at least 4 -5 times before getting someone to take my order of wine. We were in the quiet little room on the side. So I don't think I will be back.

Throw back to Old Shanghai, when its the Paris of the Orient!…read more During the 1920's 30's Shanghai was the place to be in Asia! Very much the centre for commerce and finance, it is also the Capital of anything in Vogue, where new fads and fashions are embraced in this ancient country called China. Food is a way to express the way people live and the way people "want" to live! Hence the invention of Chinese Influenced Western Cooking. Very much like the Yoshoku Cooking in Japan started in the Meiji Period. In China, it is mostly influenced by the influx of White Russians refugees during and after the Revolution. They bring not only their own culture but also their cuisine, some of the more wealthy "refugees" would still hire maids and cooks after their escape, as they still wish to maintain their ways of living before the revolution in Russia. These Cooks later became fully versed in the Russian Cuisine and soon they put in their own signature to make it their own. At Sunning, their influence of the West came from France, Russia and other European cooking methods. They also pride themselves in baking their own bread fresh everyday. Lunch that day was with my family in Hong Kong, we all grew up having this type of western dishes, and its a way of getting back to our childhood times. My Rack of Lamb was done perfectly, very tender and juicy, the doneness perfect, the sauce was a bit on the sweet side tho. The Chicken Caesar unlike anything we see in N. America, it is their own interpretation, chicken breast was poached not grilled, thus its more tender and moist, being a Caesar Salad it's size is not doing justice to the dish. Yes, I understand it is a starter and not a meal size, so if you are on a diet, this will be a very good dish to have! Service is old school, very attentive and warm, all the servers are over 50 and they all seemed to have been there forever! Sunning is still is and hopefully will still be there for a long time, as new generations will learn the history of their grandparents here of how food is being served in the old days of Shanghai and Hong Kong!

We came here on a Tuesday night celebrating my friend's birthday. It was such an excellent dining experience! First thing I've got to say is the service here is above and beyond. From the head chef @willy_cuisinier, the staffs that took care of us, everyone was so nice and caring. The food was amazing too. We both ordered the ten courses from the omakase menu and the wine pairing. My favorite dishes are the Uni Lobster, Sakana and all the desserts!!! Basically every dish has the components I look for. And all the ingredients taste fresh. Plus the platings are gorgeous too every dish is so unique and creative. ------------------------------------ 1st course - Japanese Tomato 4/5 It's very refreshing starter. It comes with the granita and the jelly on the bottom. All of the flavors worked so well with the tomato. 2nd course - Caviar 4/5 Japanese Yam, marusho rice vinegar, Caviar. It was very nice indeed. Soft and delicate. 3rd course - Aubergine 4/5 Very beautiful presentation and it was tasty with the nori sauce. And it goes very well with the sake! 4th course - Sakana 5/5 The fish was cooked at its perfection, so soft and juicy with full of taste. One of the tastiest pieces of fish I had ever eaten. And the broth so good that you wanted to soak it up with anything available. 5th course - Japanese Sweet Onion 3/5 The sweet onion was good. The dumpling broth was light not too heavy and creamy. 6th course - Lobster (+$178 add Uni) 5/5 Add Uni is a MUST if you're an UNI fan like me!! Believe me it was worth every penny. The whole dish was very satisfying and mouth watering. So fresh. And it had perfect texture and delightful flavors. It's like an explosion in your mouth. Main courses - Guinea Fowl and Wagyu Beef A4 (+$228) 4/5 I really like the French chicken with the harissa sauce and grape jam. It was flavorful, juicy and tender. The subtle flavor of this dish is so comforting. And the Saga Wagyu beef was cooked on point and very juicy as well. Loved the nori as well. Both dishes paired very well with the Merlot. Dessert - Momo 5/5, Chocolate 5/5 , Miso 5/5 I can't even pick my favorite. I don't really like sweets but I loved all these. They were incredible and tasty. Momo, a peach dessert with candied hibiscus and roses. Sour and sweet. Great paired with the complimentary liqueur peach. Thank you! Chocolate, loved this magical pairing of three different types of matcha and chocolate. It's really pair well together, making for a slightly nutty, sweet, and bitter combo. Miso, White Chocolate Shiso Choux. I ate so many Choux cream puffs before. But this was so delicious! The filling for this Choux is to die for! Hahahaha Loved every dish and can't wait to come back here again!! Service (Excellent service) Ambience (the decor is beautiful, chic, modern, relaxing) Food (Incredible, delicious)

And the brunch is a feast; besides the seafood themed buffet featuring cold cuts, smoked salmon, unlimited lobster, prawns, oysters from the south of France, and caviar, they also serve a three-course meal off of an ever-changing menu. An incredible food experience! Definitely come hungry and expect to not need to eat anything else the rest of the day. As you enter the restaurant you're greeted with a glass of champagne, or wine. Alcohol at this brunch is "free-flowing". meaning when you get up to grab more food, your drink will be filled by the time you return. And you can spend hours trying everything in the the dessert and cheese rooms. The best thing about Whisk, is that there's always some surprise for the guests. They've done all kinds of things over the years: I've witnessed them serve a giant chocolate stiletto for dessert. I've watched the head chef prepare the freshest sashimi I've ever had; I watched him prep and cut a tuna caught the day before (see photo). And I also witnessed them take slices of Wagyu beef and blowtorch them over a stone for a unique bringing-you-to-tears flavor(see video). It's unique experiences like this that keep me coming back. I'm excited to see what unique things Whisk chooses to do this coming year. Foodie alert: eating at Whisk is turning people with the mildest of pallets into foodies, one brunch at a time.
